I noticed most everyone else was ordering the daily specials - a beef sandwich or tenderloin sandwich. The buffet had a lot of food. Couldn't figure out the economics of so much food for so few people. There is a hot buffet that had fried chicken and 4 or 5 other entrees. The fried chicken didn't seem quite done to me, but the chef assured me it was and I was just seeing coloring from the marinade. I think the only thing on the hot buffet either of us liked were the au gratin potatoes, the was also a large salad bar and an extremely wide selection of desserts. I'd say it was ok, probably not as good as Bonnie Cafe at the airport. They do seem to do a good job of marketing and their specials must attract a lot of local interest.

Yes. The Holiday in Olney is like that. I've heard the rooms are outdated but clean - I can't assess that since I haven't been in one since the 80's. I do know the restaurant is pretty good - when I was a kid, the coffee shop is where all the local and state police would meet for coffee. It was a nice feeling to walk in and see familiar faces. I hope they still congregate there. There's a giant covered dome structure and it's a great place for large gatherings like class reunions. After several decades, the Holiday is serving alcohol again their former owner-turned-Christian stopped serving back in the 80s, too. (rip Ralph, you judgemental old fart!) I've heard that the pool is pretty rough. I walked by it and I think I'd take a pass. But old gal, you still have good bones, and like our childhood homes that we drive by when we visit, we're grateful you're still around.
