Their general tso's is not my favorite, they're like balls of chicken, kind of strange. And in the photo, I ordered the wonton app thinking I ordered the crab rancoon. About a week ago my husband picked up our dinner to go. The reviews looked pretty good so that's why we went there! I ordered from home so it would be ready. The chicken with garlic sauce was not very good. The chicken was very white and sliced thin and the vegetables were not cooked enough and it was very spicy and I told her only a little spice. We've ordered from here before, and it was decent. Tonight I ordered the Sesame Beef ($12.50), and there was no beef to be found. What I got was breaded filling with a few pieces of what look like pork. I've never heard of sesame beef with breading (just google sesame beef). I have discovered that this little take out place has exceptional food. All the food is prepared fresh and may take a little while but the wait is worth it. Terrible!! Ordered at 5pm they told me 15 minutes my order wasn't ready for 40 mins, not to mention not a single one of them are wearing a mask in there. I asked for my fried rice to be made spicy and they "forgot" to even do that but charged me $4 to upgrade from pork to beef rice and offered for me to bring it back and make what I had spicy, mind you I had already taken a bite out of the rice hence how i knew it wasn't spicy . Tried their food last night for the first time and was pleasantly surprised! First, the lady on the phone was very friendly. We ordered crab rancoon, General Taos chicken combo, chicken egg foo yong and cold sesame noodles. Everything was pretty tasty! I don't usually like takeout fried rice, but this had a lot of flavor. I have tried this place twice and it's unlikely that I will give it another go. In my opinion, it's kind of hard to mess up Chinese food. The issue that I had with this place is that the vegetables didn't seem to be the freshest. Everything tasted overly frozen. Wish I never ordered from China Star. Sweet and sour chicken had microscopic pieces of chicken, 90% batter. Chicken chow mein, 49.5% onion and 49.5% celery with tiny chicken pieces I had to dig around to find. Rice was bland tasting. Egg rolls were tasteless. Not very friendly either. Got the General Tso's here-- Something I get at every Chinese takeout place to gauge the place. Meat quality is very good with a crunchy but not-too-thick breading. Sauce was thick and had a tang to it, a flavor unexpected in General Tso's but not entirely unwelcome. I may try this place again, but I don't think it will be a staple in the family. read more

This place is a cut above your usual Chinese takeout. The chicken seems like real chicken -- not that too-soft variety you've probably had before. Most of the dishes we've had have been decent to pretty good. One plus is that they have Szechuan Cold Noodles, which don't seem to be available at many restaurants in the Cleveland area -- and they're really tasty too. We had our first experience here March 1st and were very pleased with the quality and flavor of the food. The hot and sour soup was both spicy and sour, as it should be.
