Although the menu is very Americanized (chop suey, egg foo yung, pu pu platter, etc), the meat and vegetables are well-cooked and attractively plated. During COVID it was take-out only; four years later the clientele prefer this arrangement. Cans of sodas in the refrigerator; among them a sweetened Chinese iced tea.

Loved the clam soup, also the hot and sour soup! The Korean chicken we both agreed was a dish we'd return for! While my husband went heavily into the chicken offerings: Sweet-and-sour, with shrimp and garlic sauce, chicken lo mein, and chicken satay? I went the more classical route: Pork dumplings with vinegar dipping sauce, sauteed beef with mushrooms, green beans with garlic, and an excellent hot and sour soup. While it lacked wood ear mushrooms, it was pungent with white pepper: The proper seasoning. We looked at each other and said, "Why don't we come here more often?"

I ordered the Paki Platter and substituted the veggie masala for chicken. It was really good. I wouldn't say the best I have ever had but it ranks in the top mentionables. It was always one of my favorite stops in Olean when it was Rafi's Platter. The owners were always so nice and the food was always fabulous and I was excited to see that none of that had changed. The menu isn't as extensive as it used to be but the food was all delicious and made fresh to order by Aamir. I had that tikka masala with chicken, our friend had the chicken curry and my husband had the French onion soup with a burger and fries. Every item came out made fresh and each item was more delicious than the next. Aamir added to the experience with his wonderful sense of humor and fantastic concern about customer service. We not only thoroughly enjoyed the food but his company as well and had many laughs and he took a photo of us and called us new friends. You rarely see this kind of interaction with owners who really care about their restaurant and their patrons happiness. We will definitely be back as well as recommend this gem of a restaurant to any of our friends who enjoy having something different and having it done well. VERY well done. Kudos to Rafi's Kitchen!

Our last visit it was a chilly rainy windy day and it was uncomfortably cold in their dining room. The music was also too loud. The straw that broke the camel's back was seeing the smaller menu with higher prices. We chose to go elsewhere.
