I lived nearby this restaurant while studying abroad in Vienna, and passed it everyday on the way to class. My roommates and I would always wonder idly if it was good. On a Sunday evening returning from a weekend trip, with no other options and a lingering curiosity, my friend and I decided to wonder no more and try this restaurant! We were very pleasantly surprised at how good it was, so close to our home away from home. We walked in around 10 PM and to no one's surprise were the only customers in the restaurant. The interior is adorable and cozy, and the owners were so kind and accommodating for us.
The food we ordered was just what we needed as well. After several weeks of eating traditional heavy Austrian food, we needed something fresh and light. Both of us are vegetarians and ordered tofu with mushrooms and bamboo and tofu with vegetables respectively. I agree that the food is very fresh, probably as fresh as a restaurant next to the Naschmarkt (Vienna's largest market) should be. The owner spoke Mandarin Chinese which was a nice touch as I haven't used my Chinese for a whole month. I am leaving Vienna soon, but hopefully can squeeze in another cozy meal at this place! read more
