The food was good but the ingenuity was even better. They have developed a contactless system for their storefront and it truly was a smart plan. The pic doesn't do it justice but they basically prop the door open and fill it with these wooden boxes. There is a speaker system rigged up. A double door system (think zoo aviary) so one door closes before you open another. Truly ingenious!

This is the ass-est Chinese food I have ever eaten. Fried in oil that's been in the wok since 1960.

Absolutely the best tofu is served here. Been all over the country as a vegetarian, and NOTHING can compare to this delicious meal.

We usually eat there and the food is decent this last time it was old, soggy, and dry!

While they have come the closest to the right combination of sweet, tart and spicy with the sauce, the sauce seemed more of a superficial coating...not marinated into the chicken as usual. Broccoli is also customary and there was none included. Dinner portion size was only average and the rice portion was rather small. Disappointment at a premium price. **UPDATE** Much better the second day after the chicken breading had a chance to absorb the sauce. One star was added for those who have the patience to save your order for the second day. Back to small rice portions, every Chinese takeout I have ever had in this lifetime has included the familiar small cardboard rice container *packed* with rice. In this case, both fried and white just barely reached the top of their respective containers. No big deal, right? It's just a few cents worth of rice, right? No. Repeat business is about exceeding expectations based on what is customary in your market segment, not just barely meeting them. A few cents of rice is trivial, but it did cost them a mulligan on the General Tso's and a possible future visit to try something else.

I've been here numerous times but the last two times I've been here have been very disappointing…read more Today, I tried one of the special off-the-menu items...fried crab sticks. As soon as I tasted it, I suspected it wasn't real crab meat. There is a distinct smell with imitation crab and it's often used because it's cheaper. This crab also was rubbery and had thin lines in it. I asked the server if they used imitation crab and she said no, but I have a hard time believing that. The smell was so disagreeable that it ruined the rest of the meal, which was cold. This will probably be the last time I come here because there are too many other Asian and Thai restaurants arhat serve better food.

I've gone on about the good and bad of Chinese food in the area and have generally used the quality…read moreof the General Tso's chicken as a yardstick. It is surprising how many variations of this standard dish I have encountered in just the Beaver area, and how many of those aren't very good...but not all. Sakura wasn't even on my radar...it's a Japanese hibachi place, right? Yes but they also have booth seating and a menu filled with the classic Chinese favorites...and it is excellent. We had the garlic chicken, a great take on orange chicken, and, of course, General Tso's chicken. All were spot-on perfect. The chicken pieces in the garlic and General Tso's dishes were incredible...the cuts of chicken were prime and super fresh (many places have inconsistent quality), and the breading had a crisp, airy quality that you don't often find. The Sauces on all three dishes were excellent, the General Tso's having a perfect balance of sweet and heat. Oh, and they also do take-out. So who would have thought. A hibachi place is in my top two for Chinese food in the area along with China Sea in New Brighton. As for some of the reviews here, several seem to come from the same party who weren't permitted to have kitchen prepared food at the hibachi station. Not only are you skewing the numbers with duplicate reviews, but you are missing the point of the experience. The hibachi performance involves everyone seated at the station and depends on that participation to create the experience. Having half your party eating menu dishes and half doing hibachi ruins the experience and is harder for the chef. Next time you go to a movie theater as a group , why don't several of you bring laptops and watch other movies while the rest watch what's on the big screen?
