HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I haven't even received my food yet and O can tell you that I will NEVER buy from this place again. The woman taking my order was rude, and when I called to check the status of delivery, the woman yelled at me...WTF?! I was told 45 mins for delivery, but it's been almost an hour and a half and my order still hasn't arrived. BUYER BEWARE, there are at least 3 other Chinese restaurants in this area. Their Singapore Chow Mei Fun is incredible and packs some heat. I recommend you mixing in a side order of boneless ribs. Also get the fried pork dumplings, theyre delicious. Try them out next time you're craving takeout, you'll be impressed. read more

Do not waste your time. Ordered at 4:30, waited 2 hours and called. At first they would not answer. Then I blocked my phone number and they magically answered and was told me it was canceled which it was not. The money was taken. No contact was tried to be made. Their customer service is trash. The food was lackluster but close to my home and we added things to make it better once arrived. Just don't waste your money or time. This restaurant is NOT worth it. read more

For a small, hole in the wall take out Chinese place, this has got to be one of the best. Great prices, generous portions, food came out in less than 5 minutes, and most of all, absolutely delicious and spot on as far as Cantonese cooking goes. It was like a flashback of my mom's home cooking as my parents are both from China. Definitely Chinese owned/run. This is primarily a take out place, limited seats and indoor space. A few pictures of their food, lots of menu options. Their hot and sour soup was probably one of the best, if not the best, I've ever had. I am seriously considering to delete Yelp app The app is telling me that my food (simple order 4 dishes super simple like 2 General Tso etc.) will take over an hour to get here. I live literally across Rt38 and can see the China Express from my window. Then when I call the place she tells me "don't worry we'll be there in 15 minutes" . And what it's been pretty much in the past year thru Covid. Last couple of orders they been getting slower. Today it's been 40 minutes and I'm still waiting. I always tip around 5 bucks to deliver across the street. It's a 40 dollar order and I don't understand why a tip for the driver is necessary at all but that's what I do - I give a tip. So I'll try one more time next weekend but I'll call them directly for a delivery order and see how long it takes. I'm willing to bet that the conventional way of ordering and establishing some sort of relationship with the restaurant is more rewarding and faster read more

This was my 2nd time having food from China Express. Both times the food was good, tasted fresh, and the counter service was quick & friendly. This second time I used the Yelp app to order (1st time ever trying that anywhere); and it went smoothly. The egg-rolls were good both times too. I just hate it when egg rolls are either too greasy or bland. These were really good. My only constructive critique would be that the first time I ordered - I had chicken & broccoli; which I more or less thought would have a light sauce. Instead the sauce was a dark garlic sauce similar to a beef dish. Overall I'm happy with the offerings here though. Update: Lunch again. Curry Chicken was good, just enough spice to open your sinuses without being too hot. Good flavor. read more

Ehh, it's your typical Chinese take-out spot. We ordered 3 items - 1 of the 3 was a tad expensive, but the other 2 were just right in regards to pricing. Roast Pork Egg Foo Young - This had a bit of an Indian feel to it that I didn't quite like. I love indian food, but not in my Chinese food. They put some sort of curry in the gravy for the dish and it just overpowered it. Beef Ho Fun - This was the dish I felt to be a bit pricey for Chinese take-out. It was even more expensive than places in C-Town. The dish could have used a bit more seasoning, but it was good with some sriracha. Shrimp Lo mein - This dish was fairly decent. Seasoned right, noodles cooked the way it should, and the portion was ok. I didn't eat much of the dish as it was mainly for my son, but he seemed to enjoy it. Plus - they are fast. Didn't have to wait very long when we ordered there. Will I be back? Only if I was at my dad's and was craving chinese, but I would not make a trip out here just to get this. read more

Ok so this is for sure my new take out place. I wanted to try ordering off of grubhub because of its convenience and you can just click what you want to eat. It had great reviews so I decided to give it a try. We ordered so much food. A feast fit for a king and his army I swear. Sesame chicken, general tso's, shrimp lo mein, veggies, steamed dumplings, the list goes on. My favorite is always sesame chicken. However, this restaurant cooks it in a much cleaner way then the average take out joint. Everything was delivered with in an hour and in neat little containers with excellent presentation. Who knew Chinese take out could be gourmet. This place also has many other options on their menu then the typical take out so try something new!! My sister and I tried the steamed shrimp dumplings and they were terrific. Will definitely will be ordering from here again and I will be telling other people to order from here too. This is my go-to place for ordering great Chinese take out or delivery. The delivery has never been quick. Expect to wait up to an hour for a delivery order. However, once your food arrives, be prepared for some tasty Chinese! I am a vegetarian and love this restaurant's General Tso's tofu, Sesame tofu and Orange tofu. Portions are great and prices reasonable. My meat eating friends have enjoyed several of their chicken dishes and agree this place is good! If you're craving Chinese food, give this place a try. We tried the place today and were ultimately disappointed. It might just be what we ordered. Pros: fast, friendly service, small military discount, and generous portions. Crab Rangoon filling was delicious. Lots of cashews in the cashew shrimp. Cons: too much celery in the cashew shrimp (that was the main ingredient in the dish). Too much breading on the general tso's chicken. Wonton wrappers on crab Rangoon were inedible(too chewy to bite into) from over frying. Egg drop soup was goopy and tasteless unfortunately. I was expecting more from so many 5 star reviews. We might go back to try something else on the menu but from what we ordered it was mediocre. read more

I ate here twice but it just didn't do it for me. First time: I tried the orange chicken but I wasn't a fan. It tasted like the orange chicken you would eat at an all you can eat restaurant when it was left on the burner too long. This place is on point. I moved to South Jersey less than a year ago, and I've been hard-pressed to find a really decent Chinese takeout place since. Having grown up in Seattle and having spent the last eight years in Vegas, I really miss west coast food. The Asian food particularly in SJ just doesn't really cut it, and I've been settling for what (in my opinion) is subpar food. We just moved to the Hainesport area about two weeks ago, and I decided to give this place a try based on the reviews. I've literally ordered from here 4 times in those last two weeks. The prices are reasonable, it's five minutes from my house, and the food is delicious and tasty and reminds me of my favorite takeout spot in Vegas. The Kung pao chicken's sauce was very tasty with the perfect amount of spiciness and the shrimp dumplings tasted very fresh. My food came within the time they quoted. It's my local Chinese Joint, the pros include location, food is ready quickly, ability to oder pick up n delivery online. Menu is extensive with many bargins at lunchtime till 3 PM. I stopped eating Chinese food several years ago. China Express made me love it once again.

My first time ordering from here was so good I gave up my usual Chinese place for this one. The second time the food was meh... but I continued to give them a chance. The third time I called them over a mistake in my order..no almond cookies.. they accused me of lying..I shrugged that off as just a bad employee. I gave them another chance.. they forgot the sauce for dumplings..and food was slimy..I called and let them know that there was no sauce for the dumplings..they said "just use soy sauce" and hung up. I wanted to give them another shot..tonight I ordered chicken wings and rice for my son and shrimp and broccoli and sweet and sour chicken. Also scallion pancakes. I ordered at 5:41pm and recieved it at 7:04..cold... pancakes were soggy and had no flavor but grease.. shrimp had sand in them and we're very rubbery..rice was dry and sour tasting. Chicken was rubbery and literally dripping in grease..I have never had worse food anywhere. The owners don't give a crap about quality. Each time I recieved an order cold I made my tips smaller. Now I feel sick to my stomach and threw out the shite they sent to my door. I will never ever ever ever come again. And I am a woman who orders out 4 nights a week... I will tell every one I know not to come. I gave this place a year!! A whole year of trying at least once a month.. and the only time it was good was the first time..what a focking joke this place is. My son is crying over his burnt wings.. after waiting longer than an hour to get them. NEVER AGAIN! Edit: So this guy called Bo came to my home and kept asking if this household made this review, Firstly coming to my home is a bit intrusive, but beyond that, Bo kept asking the person who answered my door if it was HIM who posted the review. We were given the excuse of someone was sick and there was an accident and offered a 20 dollar off coupon on our next order. there will never be a next order. this was not a one time thing. this was a constant thing. if the food didn't come tasting like the plastic container that it was obviously microwaved in, that would be a plus, but it always tastes like the plastic containers. Secondly it often comes late and cold and I only live a few miles away. Thirdly, I have gotten repeated rude service when I would call and let them know that something was forgotten. Never hang up on a customer.. so when you come to my home and give the excuse that it was the result of someone being out sick and an accident... it sounds to me like a LOT of BS.. only because it has happened over the period of months.. not just once. I appreciate your wanting to know what is wrong so you can try to fix it.. but in the future... try calling the person rather than show up at the door. read more

Food here is always so fresh & steaming hot when I get it. Only 5$ for a lunch special.. You can't beat that. I'm not really a fan of Chinese food in general but this is probably the only Chinese food place id get food from. Definitely recommend this place. read more
