My 1st impression of the shop was that it is quite small and as such I didn't really expect there to be to look at, but as soon as I walked in the door I realised I couldn't be more wrong, the shop is on 2 floors and is 1 of the biggest model/hobby shops I've ever been in and it is not a big name like model zone but the shop is bigger than any of there shops I've been in. As for what they sell there should definitely be something for every one as not only do they sell model railways but model kits, die cast cars and bikes, R.C. cars and boats etc, scalextric and even dolls houses as built or in kit form as well as plans to build them from scratch! Being interested in model railways that was the area of the shop I mainly looked at and that took up probably about 1 3rd of the upper floor so there was quite a selection although there 2nd hand section could be better but then again thats is probably down to how much stuff people sell to them and when. I went with my father and we had a good look round at everything they sell just to see what exactly they have and there website doesn't really show everything that they have so it is definitely worth paying a visit as you are bound to find something of interest even if you aren't into any of the hobbies there's a good chance you will find something interesting.

For example 500ml bottles of coke which are used about £1.20 in most shops now are 39p at Home Bargains. The shop is normally busy, a bit of a mess and the staff are quite rude sometimes, but it's worth it to go in every now and then and pick up some major bargains. A lot of the stock is branded too so you know you're getting high quality products.

I originally stopped in because of all the fun little accessories they have, then wandered upstairs to find (much to my surprise) a little grocery store! Downstairs, I couldn't resist getting a few of their Korean, Chinese, and Japanese-inspired items like phone charms, pencil cases, chopsticks... it's seriously addicting for anyone who likes Asian stuff.

The level of service we have received from start to finish has been exceptional. Communication was excellent regarding the initial measuring up, to the design, to visiting the showroom to finalise plans and book in the job, to daily updates on progress and plans for the next day and being available whenever required to help accommodate changes. The guys even gave up their Saturdays and worked into the evenings some days to make sure that progress stayed on track. The entire HHI team have been hard working, polite, trustworthy, punctual, reliable, understanding, and accommodating to last minute changes. They really couldn't have done more for us and nothing was too much trouble. The selection of products and services available is vast and the level of expertise you receive is high. It's a pure treasure trove of locally crafted art work, paintings, crochet, knitting, jewellery, decorative pieces, hand bags, furniture and more. Each section has its own personality, and the shop shines as a haven of talent, made up of the various creative items displayed within. I realise this perhaps speaks to those who enjoy pretty things a little more than those who don't, but I'd whole heartedly recommend anyone wander in and take a good long browes - be it for gift shopping, inspiration, or simply to marvel at what can be created by our local talent. What's more, Fabrication hold regular classes, including sewing lessons, crochet and more. I've intended upon taking a class for some time, but haven't found the time, although I've heard some very good reports from folks I know who've partaken. Essentially, I've wanted to learn how to sew for a while, since it's one of the many talents my mother has that I didn't take advantage of whilst at home, and would love to see if I can continue the trend. I won't make a promise here in writing, but watch this space. I may be a dressmaker yet! The real lesson here? Visit this place now. Visit, get your creativity flowing, and support the local scene!
