Very good for the price came here last year and still happy to eat here again. Staff are polite and quick to clear tables. Food is tasty especially the fried chicken.

No branching out into other China Town restaurants for them. There is a huge range of dishes here with two lots of soup and a little bit of sushi. The interior is also pretty nice. There are big round tables for say 12 people which would be really good for parties. Lunch during the week is a really good bargain; you can eat a lot. Favourites include lemon chicken and crispy duck pancakes. Also, their take away carton looks really good value for city workers nearby who can't stop properly for lunch. The only downside is their desserts: ice cream, occasionally banana and pineapple fritters or buns. There is not much but you don't go there for the desserts you go there for the mains.

They always have a wide choice of dishes including crispy duck (which is not available in many such restaurants). When dining in some buffet establishments, you can be made to feel rushed, but that is definitely not the case here. The staff are attentive when you need them to be. When I have visited, the food has always been much higher quality than might be expected from a buffet restaurant and if you're like me, you can enjoy the accompaniment of a Chinese Tsingtao beer (or two) with your meal.

This spot had decent reviews and it was open for an early dinner so we stopped in. It was absolutely delicious and definitely hit the spot for what we were hoping to get. We split everything between 4 of us so we shared the short ribs, the shredded beef in spicy sauce, egg-fried rice, and then the pork dumplings, shrimp dumplings and red bean buns. The ribs and beef were delicious - a really tasty sweet and spicy sauce. The dumplings were great and served steaming hot. All of us were pleasantly full after the meal and it was all cooked hot and fresh. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. It's comfortable and cozy and a great spot to great delicious Chinese if you're ever in the mood - and it looks like they do a lot of take out as well as have tables to sit down and dine in.

Holy crap, was this place good, and my sheltered students agreed: Red Chilli's food is better than anything available at where we live in the States! I ordered the Gong Bao Chicken (Kung Pao, for those Yankees who often get Panda Express) and...wow. Not only was everything super fresh but there were flavors/seasonings in the dish that I had never experienced before. I would certainly come back here again if I return to the area. The negatives, however nit-picky: The entrees don't come with rice (though, that could be my American fatness talking). The side of fried rice we did order was pricey and good, not great. Also, for those who are used to a Chinese restaurant menu in America, you might find Red Chilli's menu to be a little limiting, as there's no General Tso's Chicken or something similar.

Decent food & drinks but awful service…read more After spotting a 50% off offer for the brunch at the Mal on twitter we booked in. I'd heard good things so was keen to try this out. We got there a little early but as it was very quiet they seated us straight away. Despite the fact there were a lot of very good tables we were offered one in the middle of the restaurant. There was left over foods (quite big crumbs) all over my chair so we asked for a different table. The waitress again ignored all the nice tables and took us to another pretty average one. We immediately ordered drinks then had a good look at the menu. The format for Sunday brunch/lunch is an all you can eat starter buffet followed by a main and dessert that you order off the menu. The buffet has lots of great options on it. I had things like artichoke hearts, Caesar salad, couscous, Camembert, olives and some fantastic bread. There were also a lot of meat and fish options. After we finished our starters we still hadn't received our drinks and had to ask for them. Our waitress got confused and thought we wanted more drinks until we had to point out we still wanted our original drinks.... While we chose mains still no drinks appeared. We had to ask for the specials rather than being told about them. I ordered the lamb roast dinner and Dan went for the cooked breakfast. Then a good ten minutes later our waitress came over and asked what mains we wanted again - she obviously hadn't put them through yet. At this point I wandered back to the buffet and ordered some pancakes off the station at the end. They also do waffles! Amazing, I want this for the flat. The drinks were really good when they finally arrived - the Bloody Mary was great, very spicy and delicious. When the mains came they looked great. The breakfast comes with fries, steak, sausage, mushroom, black pudding, eggs and tomato. My roast dinner was good but I'd have liked mash as the roasties were a little dry and the veg was a bit over cooked. For dessert I ordered an ice cream sundae and Dan had the creme brûlée. The sundae was not good. The ice cream was melted and there was far too much cream on top. The cream was fairly tasteless and just sloppy so not pleasant. I sent it back. The bite I had of Dan's cream brûlée was good though. Some of the other staff seemed ok (although one waiter tried to give us a bottle of water when we asked for tap water - cheeky) but certainly our waitress was really struggling, we were told she was new. They took off one drink as compensation which was fine. A point to note here - they put a service charge on the bill. My pet hate in restaurants. We had not had good service and to have to ask them to then take the charge off didn't improve my overall experience. I can see why they are having to do 50% offers as overall based on today it wasn't an experience I'd rush back for. I do think that they could do better another day though and Dan really enjoyed his meal so we may return. Lots of small things they need to improve on. Hopefully they can.

I was also excited when I walked in off grubby Portland St to find an elegant interior and smiling waiter. Bit disappointed then to find that the lunchbox is not some kind of Indian bento box featuring, I don't know, chutneys and the sound of a sitar playing or something. It's just the lunch buffet. But then again, that's not actually a bad thing in theory. In execution, none of it was particularly good and it was all strangely the same colour which was a bit off-putting. The poppadums were soft, which was just weird However, as it definitely didn't give me food poisoning I am likely to return given its proximity to my work and low price. For the money though, Kukoos is a much better choice in the area for Indian food at lunchtime. Dinner wise, I'd say Swadesh is probably pretty good.

Not too hard to do, since we stayed at a hotel just along the alley from Swadesh, but boy are we glad we decided on dinner here. The atmosphere was that of a pretty fancy restaurant where you'd think the staff and customers alike would be pretentious, but that wasn't the case at all. This place was really great, and the staff was great to boot. The prices were just perfect where we could all order various dishes and not feel as though we were going to break the bank by doing so. We started out with some poppadoms and chutneys as a started. Well pleased with that. After that, my boyfriend and I went with a vegetarian mix of goodies, including onion badjis and grilled halloumi. By the time we finished that, we knew we were in for a treat when the rest of our food came along. I stuck with ordering vegetarian dishes, which included saag paneer and an okra dish and my boyfriend ordered a chicken curry. We decided to share the lot and surprisingly, my boyfriend, who is a meat lover, really liked incorporating vegetarian in to the mix of dinner and plans to do it again when we go out. My bestfriend and his girlfriend ordered mixed vegetarian entrees and really enjoyed theirs as well. As we had been drinking a bit before we decided on dinner, we kept with water for the evening which the staff kept flowing without hesitation. All in all, it really was probably one of the better dinners I've had in a long time. I haven't had a good Indian meal in a few years, so I was really happy that we all enjoyed it so much. Should we find ourselves in Manchester again, this will be a must on the list of places to eat.

For those not familiar with rodizios, they bring as much meat as you would like to the table on skewers from the kitchen. Why Fazenda stands out is the meat is medium rare to rare (you can also order more well done), and I hate overcooked beef. I love their garlic steak, the fillet here and lamb. They also have a great salad bar, including sushi, a nice selection of cheeses and charcuterie, and a nice sesame seasoned quail egg. So why only four stars. First, it was very warm inside, uncomfortably warm. Not sure if it was intentional so people would not stay too long but it definitely detracted from the meal. Second, while the meat selection is good, it was very inconsistent. I was swamped when I started, probably five servers in three minutes. I tried to be careful and not over-indulge (too quickly) but then had to wait about 20 minutes for more food. I noticed this happened at a few table, again not sure if it is intentional or not. I also never was offered the fillet again. Food is good but the service and temperature need a little work for them to regain the fifth star I awarded Liverpool.

Rather than being an opulent, nearly-sombre space for the well-to-do, Bem Brasil is a raucous, packed, house of protein pleasure. When we arrived this place was packed, which I took to be as a good sign. But the layout made me feel like it was some cafateria, I did not feel comfortable, and the waiiter seemed quite disgruntled.. Choosing a glass of wine we set off to investigate the food counters...The chinese was the nearest one, and I always like to start off with a soup to whet my appetite.. This hot and sour soup was not bad, but it is difficult to get this wrong. While I was slurping on this there was a ''chef'' on the meat section cooking steaks to order. See this should be an awesome idea ..however...even if I ate meat I still would not have touched this... He was quite a portly chap, and had the same energy as the dead cow on the grill..to which he kept aimlessly slapping with a spatuala...when it was black.he went over the guests and plonked it on their plate , which sounded like a tile falling off the roof.. Bravely after this performance I went to look at what else there was to eat. Here is when things get worse...I must have tried EVERYTHING from noodles, curries, rice, pizza...to be repulsed. Everything had been left cooking all day and our table soon filled up with full plates trying to find something in vain that was edible.. If I were the waiter I would have asked what the issue was, considering how many plates they were taking away... Eventually after trying everything available we admitted defeat and decided to ask for the bill..which came to £40... I was not paying this, and decided to pay what would cover for the drinks and left. After about 25 minutes and more people later, the staff with the clip board came over and said to everyone that they could buy a drink at the bar, which obviously meant we would be waiting longer! After another 10 minutes, he let 2 other groups who'd got in after us in first, so my mate went and asked about it. He made some excuse about us having 5 people!! Then a couple of minutes later he called us and told us to follow one of the waitresses. We sat down and she just walked off. No explanation, nothing! Luckily, one of the girls had been there before so we asked her if we went to the bar ourselves or did they come and take our orders. After a few minutes another waitress came and ordered our drinks. We then went for our food. There were 5 of us but only 4 drinks came! She just plonked the drinks down and walked off before we could ask her. Few minutes later another waitress asked us if we'd ordered tap water so we told her that we were still waiting for another drink. When she came back it wasn't the drink my mate had ordered but she said that was all there was!!! No apologies!!! Food was as expected from a buffet, ok.
