I want to be as respectful as I possibly can. The staff was very friendly. The bathrooms were my first stop and they were very clean, which is always a big plus for me, so I really appreciated that. At first glance, I was a little hesitant about the building itself. It's very old, with no real signage, just "Chinese Buffet." The sushi was... okay. If you're looking for something more authentic, I'd recommend ordering a roll instead and telling them you want something authentic. Hopefully they will be as accommodating as they appear. What's out on the buffet seems geared more toward people who might not recognize good sushi if it slapped them in the face (lol). The Chinese food was decent and, surprisingly, not overly oily. I was honestly impressed, since lower-end Chinese buffets often have food swimming in oil, and this place didn't. I think a good makeover could really do this place justice. It's alright, not horrible. It could be a fun place for younger kids who want to try something new, but do not bring someone here on a date. Seriously. Don't do it. There were multiple food trays that were empty, and they were not refilled until about 30 minutes into our dinner, keep in mind this was at 5pm. I normally don't review Chinese buffets, but this little whole-in-the-wall in an awkward part of Hornell needs a second review! We almost didn't go in from the outside appearance, but the inside is a standard Chinese buffet. Tables and floors were clean and buffet in good order. We dined late (after 8:00pm) and everything was reasonably warm. The buffet had all the items you would expect. Crispy cheese wontons, good General Tso's, yummy stuffed mushrooms. I love this place, we come here a lot, even during weird times and they offer to make us anything that's not already out. The dude knows I always want a Sprite. THEY HAVE BYRNE DAIRY ICECREAM. It's perfect if you get hungry bar hopping because theres not a lot of restraunts on the side of town. Don't uh. Don't go here. Most of the bins are empty or on the very low side, with slimy beef and broccoli. Dumplings were okay, are sat in water not over steam. Friendly staff but to be honest gross food. All the food, well, what's available, is lukewarm at best at 3pm. Couldn't figure out what kind of meat the lemon chicken was, it did not taste or feel like chicken but was white meat. Marginal at best would be better to drive elsewhere then comprimise here. There are a few not bad things like potatoes and some of the soups. All things prepared in wok like General Tso and sesame chicken was all breading and way overcooked. Went during lunch. The selections were standard. The egg drop soup was tasty. The hot tea was extra hot. Would have rated it higher, but it took them 15 to 20 minutes to fill the water glass, and even longer to take the used plates. read more

My partner and I have eaten here several times over the past several months and service was adequate, food was ok, however tonight 7/7/2013 the food was horrendous. The noodles were dry and hard, rice was grainy, selection of food was very limited. Upon complaining to the young waiter, whom was the son, we were told "food is sparce today and was left out a long time", and that was it, There was NO mention of any sort of restitution etc. and he proceeded to charge us fully for two dinners.
