Saturday, February 11, 2023 11:16 AM…read more Keith and Serranos are unprofessional and not dependable. He gave me a quote for quartz countertops installation that was higher than other fabricators but I decided to accept it based on positive reviews. He didn't like the idea I wanted to buy slabs from Arista Stones, saying "they are not responsible when their materials are defective". When I insisted because I liked the slab, he asked me to change my Sales Rep from the one I worked with to one he preferred. He said that my rep "just got fired". As I heard none of these were true. I talked to a new rep, I bought a new sink and a faucet and, took a day off at work and was ready for templating. A day before, Keith just texted me, he was not going to do the project, without providing a reason. Regardless of Serranos response to this review, I would not use them and recommend to stay away.

Each wall that he looks at he can already state what we should do with it and there was no need to hire someone else for the job because Eric was able to take on the task! Eric even built a window bench for one of the room we weren't sure what we could use it for. The back wall was decorated as a beautiful background for our saltwater fish tank. Every piece of furniture was picked out by Eric and I wouldn't have it any other way. They are timeless and elegant that makes my house feel like home whenever my friends and family comes in. Eric is always ready to advise me whenever I ask him for opinions. I honestly can say the best choice was to have Eric as my interior designer, a thoughtful and kind person with great ideas.

The owner of JDR Contracting, Jeff Roche, recently completed a bathroom remodel for me including…read moretotal replacement of the shower and vanity. The work was completed successfully, but I feel compiled to warn prospective JDR clients of two situations. The first is a suggestion you cover in detail the tasks you want them to complete as part of the job. Their bid to me included removing a large, wall-mounted vanity mirror and I assumed they would repair the minor wall damage that ensued. They refused, so I ended up doing it myself. The second, more significant issue I encountered is that my final invoice included sales taxes of nearly $500. According to Arizona statutes and tax guidelines, however, sales taxes are not paid on materials used in basic, MRRA remodeling projects. When I complained to Jeff, he immediately took the charge off with no effort to defend the charge. If you're a future or past client of JRD, check your invoice. If you are/were charged sales taxes on items purchased by your contractor for your MRRA remodeling project, ask for that charge to be removed. The positive news is my new vanity and shower are wonderful. I have no problem with the quality of work or materials completed by JDR.

Our general contractor, AJ Gates of Gates Custom Homes required us to retain the services of…read more Meagan Tignini, Area Interior Design LLC. First off, she wanted us to sign an agreement that if we went to litigation (red flag for us) that we would pay the costs. We scratched that off. Gates required us to use Tignini's services because he said, since we were living out of state she was supposed to be our "eyes and ears" on the job site. She was working for us, so we thought, but clearly, she was working for Gates. Every part of the job she was given to work on had issues - door selection, tile selection, tile installation, electrical outlets and fan locations. She failed to notice what was built did not match the plan. She located many of the switches and lights in the wrong place resulted in a lot of rework. In the end, our project went on much longer and was lower quality than we anticipated. We paid her over $6200 to be our eyes and ears on the job, and estimate that the rework attributed to her mistakes and inattention on the job cost us much more than that. Poor communication was her practice. Tignini would ask questions and a month later ask the same questions again. We were specific about the style of house we wanted and sent pictures to her, but she often ignored our input and always pushed with her plan - which I think was to say that everything the general contractor was doing was just fine. We were billed for a meeting we never confirmed. We were billed for meetings where the subcontractor we wanted to see was unavailable. We were billed for her going back and forth on decisions already made. We also felt that she made suggestions which were badly thought out and in one instance, where she recognized the mistake, it was too late to change without a large additional expense to us. When she obtained bids for things like doors and a wood countertop, her sources were not competitively priced. She quit the job as we neared some critical finishing points. I felt like her services added to the confusion and multiple mistakes we experienced with the remodel. I can't recommend using her.
