Chimera has been one of the first tattoo studios on The Blvd for as long as I can remember, and it's success makes absolute sense. Rudy (the owner and artist) is so welcoming, professional, friendly and beyond talented! I went in at first to check out the studio after reading the wonderful ratings on yelp from other reviewers. My visit confirmed what I read. The studio is clean, very cool and customized decor. It's not like most tattoo studios at all, and it has it's own style. The equipment Rudy uses is clean and updated tools. The bed/chair you sit on is comfortable and adjustable which definitely is an overseen important factor when getting tatted (especially for long period of time). Rudy is a family guy and has a very calm energy to him, which is important to me as I wouldn't want someone with bad energy touching me while tattooing. His wife is just as dope as a FNP and also does body contouring and skin tightening at the studio too which was a perfect surprise as my girlfirend who came in during my tattooing was in search for. The combo of a highly skilled and friendly tattoo artist-business owner with a nurse practitioner in the mix made me feel super safe and taken care of. He even asked what kind of music or movie do I want playing while getting tatted which was a nice offer for sure. (I chose Nightmare Before Christmas). I was sooooo excited seeing my tatt that he did, and the after care with the ink sack he put on top of the fresh ink on my back was the first I've seen and experienced. Seriously the best tattoo experience I've ever had (I have several tatts from different places). I DEFINITELY will be back for more with Rudy at Chimera! read more

Rudy has been my tattoo artist for 10+ years and I will continue to go to him for my art. I love every piece that he's done for me. If you are looking for a tattoo artist, go see Rudy, he is humble, a pleasure to be around, and definitely does not make it boring or awkward while you're sitting there for hours getting tatted. Chimera is an impressive facility with the art and decor, clean and very well organized. Rudy will become a great friend if you are looking for a tattoo artist for life. He takes time to sit an draw out what you are looking for and won't start tattooing unless you are 101% happy with what you want. read more

I throughly enjoy both Rudy company as well as his talent for great art work. Rudy was quick to work in my husband and myself at the last minute. He gave us quality time and ensured we both walked out with a great piece. Rudy spent a great deal on my husbands piece, he knew it was important to my husband to have great art to commemorate his father. We both had a wonderful afternoon/ early evening with Rudy. If he wasn't your friend when you walked in the door he'll be your friend when you walk out. Looking forward to receiving more art work. read more

I tried to get 3 different tattoo artist in my area to do a tattoo to commemorate my late son. All 3 stopped talking to me after I sent them the idea I wanted. So I expanded and came across Chimera Body Art. I am SO glad I did. Rudy is absolutely the best. He listened to what I wanted and designed an amazing tattoo that was way more elaborate and beautiful than I had imagined. He and is amazing staff were warm and friendly and made me feel at ease (I'm really uncomfortable around people, not because of Covid but because of super stunted social skills). If you are looking for a new tattoo, go to Chimera Body Art. The warm atmosphere and the quality work make this the place to go. read more

I highly recommend checking this tattoo parlor out. The best in the AV area. My tattoo artist Brisa is a beast! She is beyond talented and amazing at what she does. She was welcoming, respectful, patient, friendly, and funny. She made sure I got what I came in for. My final piece is nothing short than a work of art. I am beyond pleased with my experience and I will definitely be returning for another tattoo. The owner of the shop, Rudy is very nice too. Overall, amazing experience. read more

Rudy is truly a great artist, as well as a very intelligent, hard working man that loves his art and his family. I gave him a picture of what I wanted, but I think he sensed I was just finding something to fit in the empty space on my arm. He took it upon himself to search for something more fitting to what represented my story, and he gave me exactly what I needed, and at a great price! Doc Ink was introduced to me by a co-worker as a 3-D tattoo artist for his work with tattooing nipples for reconstructed breast. I expressed my concerns regarding a tattoo cover up of a tribal band (yeah, the 90's). Took a quick look and he said he'd easily cover it up. Made the appointment and made the trip from South Pasadena to Lancaster. I walked in to shop which was beyond my initial expectation, super clean shop and the feng shui just flows. Rudy and his staff are super friendly, skilled and make you feel like you are home. Ryan, Rudy's assistant made sure I witnessed him opening every single item they were to use on me which made me feel at ease. Before the tattooing started Rudy made suggestions on how to improve the tattoo in the sense of shading, placement and added a bit of his flair to the tattoo. Not only did he wanted me to be absolutely satisfied but he wanted to be satisfied with his work, just as any perfectionist would. I didn't leave his shop with just another tattoo, I left with an art piece! Super satisfied and extremely happy with the results. I'm looking forward to my next appointment! Pics to come shortly. Those stars don't lie, Rudy and thew crew @ Chimera are AS GOOD AS IT GETS! Btw Rudy, mom loved the piece! read more

Great service but disappointing results. My lady got a simple belly button piercing and the lady did a horrible job. There is nothing bad I can say about my experience here. Rudy was amazing!! We came to him on very short noticed and he was extremely accommodating. The area was impeccably clean and it was a very comfortable place to be. My sister in laws and I wanted to get a tribute tattoo in Remembrance of our sister in law that recently passed away. Rudy was able to capture our concept and execute it perfectly with our personalities. His tattooing was clean precise and fast. He made us feel right at home which was greatly appreciated. He was even nice enough to set aside a space for my husband to work on a slide show for the memorial service.
