I want to start by saying just how much I love this restaurant, I have been here on two occasssions…read morenow as after my first visit I just couldn't wait to come back and try something else on their menu! Tamarind is a fine Indian cuisine restaurant, and is much more exquisite than your standard Indian. They offer a really attractive variety of interesting dishes and specials, as well as your usual curries like Korma, Tikka, Vindaloo etc... this really appeals to me, but you will find that it is very difficult making a final decision on what you want to eat as everything sounds so good. The smells from the kitchen are amazing as you're sitting there, so get popadums to start for something to pick at whilst your waiting. The interior of the restaurant is lovely, with white wooden terrace type designs giving the place a quaint feel. There is a good amount of seating, but in my experience it was very busy on a Friday night so perhaps book ahead if you want to guarantee a table. Price wise this place is also great as their meals are very reasonable, on par with most other Indian's in the area. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, it's a bit more classy than most Indians so it would be great for a special occasion meal as well as general family meals or evenings out with friends. If you are a fan of Indian food like me you will love Tamarind.

This place is definitely up there with my favourite curry houses!…read more We have had a few takeaways from here recently and they have all been delicious. I always go for a chicken korma and my partner has something different each time. Last night he went for a chicken tikka rezala which he said is now one of his favourite curries. The last time we ate from here we found that one rice wasn't enough for both of us so this time we ordered two. All our food was lovely, definitely no complaints. The decor is modern with a nice traditional feel and the staff are all really friendly and accommodating. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area or fancy a change from your usual Indian restaurant.

First impressions was the location seemed abit out of the way and didnt expect it to be very busy…read moreinside. But they had every table full with a nice atmopshere. Ive heard this place was really good so looking forward to trying it out. We went here for a group meal and the there was about 20 of us....so i expected the service to be slow but they were really good. It didnt make a difference that it was a large the food still came out quick. Nothing was wrong. And everyone complementing their meals. I shared a mixed grill tandoori and it was really tasty. The nann bread were crispy which i really like compared to other curry houses nanns! The staff made checking to make sure our meals were ok. Good food & wine!! Will be returning :)

Raj Pavillions is by far the best curry house in Bristol in my opinion. I have been here twice,…read moreonce a year ago with a small group and last night when there was 20 of us. I have been raving about this place for a whole year but struggled to find a good time to go back until last night. We had popadoms with the usual pickles to start. And for main I had the Lamb Asadi, I have been thinking about it since my visit last year and I have to say it was just as good last night. Asadi is a dish with olives and Feta, which you might think isn't your typical Indian dish but served in the Bhuna style sauce is incredible and works so well. We shared a mushroom rice (although we could probably of had a one each) and a Raj special Nan, it was all cooked to perfection. All for around £15 each, which is great value I think. The staff are really friendly and coped really well with our rowdy bunch, they were quick and efficient. The decor is clean and modern with an Indian flavour, I particularly love the mural of the Indian landscape across the back wall. To eat in, take away or delivery everyone should try the Raj Pavilions you won't be disappointed.
