I contacted Chill Electric for a quote on installation of an EV charging station and a range hood outlet in our basement. He was prompt with all communication and thoroughly evaluated our setup. In the end, we needed a sub panel as well but I anticipated that since our 200 amp panel was full. The quality of work was excellent from first contact until job completion. The price was reasonable as well for the amount of work required (he had to run the cable up from the basement, through the attic, and down into the garage) and we can't be happier with the results. I called Chill Electric on a Wednesday morning. Chad was driving and reassured me that he would call me back shortly. 24 hours later I hadn't heard from him and called again. We set up an appointment on Saturday at 9:30am. I stressed that I lived 40 minutes from the job site so if anything changed please just give me a call or text. Fast forward to 9:45am Saturday and no Chad. I texted and he texted back around 10am. He said he was sick with severe strep throat, maybe Covid, and shivering with pain. His doctor appointment was in two hours. His comment was that I was "the last thing he thought about." I'm an owner of two businesses. We don't roll like that. Sick is fine and cancelling is fine but COMMUNICATE with your customers - if you could call the doctor you can text your client. I'm giving one star for an absence of communication and unreliability. Just to make sure I wasn't overreacting since I was frustrated in making a 90+ minute round trip in vain, I showed the text thread to four employees and a customer today. When I bought my 1959 ranch, I didn't really notice how FEW ceiling lights were in the house. Do you know how difficult it is to cook under one dingy flush-mount light in a galley-style kitchen? The price was a little higher than I expected, but it was a small job and I didn't get another estimate so I have nothing to compare them to.
