Absolutely amazing and my new obsession!!!…read more After discovering this place I have been back weekly. Their tacos are some of the best I've ever had. Chorizo and potato is soft and spicy and savory. Al pastor is savory and a little sweet too. They come with hot and mild sauce, cilantro crema, and radish slices to add crunch. Loaded nachos are made with handmade tortilla chips, lettuce, loads of your choice of meat, refried beans and lots of other toppings. Their service is quick and always very friendly. You really cannot go wrong here.

Our favorite is their live music nights, but any time we can stop in, we enjoy the extra considerate service with our kiddos and see them bring that to every customer. I can't pick a favorite dish, but the kids particularly enjoy their asada fries or bean tacos. Show this place some love!

We were passing through and looking for a good place to stop for lunch. Based on the ratings and…read moremost reviews, we gave it a try. It was about 11:30 on a Tuesday and pretty quiet. We were greeted, seated and immediately waited on by a friendly server. First, the chips are definitely not made in house and are nothing special. The salsa had a little bite to it and tasted pretty good. It is a shame that the chips were not fresh and crisp. The unsweet iced tea was very strong. We suspect it might have been instant, but do not know that for sure. The Fiesta Burrito was flavorful, as the meat was well-seasoned. The refried beans and pico were also very flavorful. The chimichanga with ground beef was seasoned well and covered with melted white cheese. The lunch portion is small, but that was good for me. The pinto beans and rice lacked seasoning, so after a dose of salt they tasted better. The sour cream was a good compliment to the chimi, but the tomatoes and lettuce were quite acidic and without good flavor. Based on our food and drink, I consider it to be quite average. The service and time to receive meals after ordering was good, though.

He told me back then that someday we needed to check out J&J's. We love small business, local, non-chain restaurants. I decided to surprise my husband and take him to J&J's for Father's Day. We are empty nesters, so it was just the two of us for lunch. We arrived just after 12 p.m. There was a line out the door, which we expected since it was Father's Day and Sunday lunchtime. We were told it would be a 15-20 minute wait for a table, which we had no issue with. We ended up waiting less than 10 minutes because there was a table available on the patio. The weather was beautiful, and with summer being so short in Minnesota, we like to take advantage of it whenever we can. Our server came to our table shortly after we were seated, but it was long enough that we both had time to decide what we wanted before she arrived. I ordered the Texas Philly, and my husband had the brisket sandwich. We had to wait a while for our food, which we understood given how busy the restaurant was. Others around us were complaining about the wait, and those tables had a different server who was very apologetic about the kitchen being backed up. The hand-cut fries were piping hot and seasoned perfectly. It's so rare to go out to eat and get hot fries, let alone fries that are piping hot. That alone was worth the wait! My husband loved the brisket sandwich, and the Texas Philly was SO good--piled full of meat. We live in the south metro, but it was well worth the 30+ minute drive to get there. We'll definitely be back and will absolutely recommend J&J's to others!

I wish they had bbq sauce available at the tables if you dine or easy to grab more if needed. My mom got spicy wedges with her food. I unfortunately am not a fan of soggy food and the wedges were very soggy so I didn't care for that. Coleslaw wasn't my vibe either. I did get a banana cupcake to eat later. I ate it the next day and it was good! They have a decent size dining room to dine in.
