This may be my first yelp review. Please disregard the review left by a potential employee who…read moredidn't get the job. I reported it and hopefully it will be erased. My child has been in these angels care for two years. I am a single father, work a blue collar job as a plumber and my child gets more than just "adequate care". She receives nurturing, love, attention and education. Quite frankly, i need a dose of that nurturing and love every now and then. I can come in dressed for a meeting or grizzled and unshaven from a rough week in the field(leave muddy boots in the car) and i am treated with the same level of care. Its not "mr wood", its mike and i prefer it that way. This is child CARE, not boot camp. I previously had her at another AMAZING facility@ the Goddard School, but the price was nearly double and she receives the sane small class size, they do homework with her and play with nifty tech, cant imagine better care. Chris is awesome- every month we have cool activities at night, game night, a Sadie hawkins dance, the fall festival, trunk or treat(complete with haunted house) and most recently the holiday show(teachers had a bit in it too!) Im grateful she was much more concerned with the children in her care than impressing a potential employee...if you cant wait five minutes at the door as a security measure, you don't have the patience for kiddos.

We…read morehave been at the Sunshine house and Discovery Point Before this and being at Crimson is a whole new experience! They are very involved with their students, and have all kinds of activities! A few weeks back they had a fall festival and a drive in movie where they even made little box cars for the kids to sit in. They just had Trunk or treat and that was a blast and my kids loved it! They are even having a thanksgiving feast! Mrs. Jennifer is my sons Infant teacher, she is so awesome! River is always a happy boy when I pick him up and they always have something to write on his daily sheet, letting you know what he did that day and how he was acting and how he ate. I love being able to keep up with that! My Step son has also just started Crimson and Mrs. Ruby is his teacher. After 2 days of him being at Crimson, he came home saying yes mam! Which of course I try to remind him to say but he likes to tune us out like any 2 year old! He gets so excited when we walk into the school and the first thing he asks in the morning is if he gets to see Ruby today. When I pick him up he is always so excited, he loves to show me around his class room and show me what he did that day. So I would day Jaxx also gives Crimson a thumbs up!!! The school also has themes that every class participates in this month is medieval times, and they have already started decorating with the kids crafts and pictures around the school and halls. I love it! I honestly can not say enough good things about this school/ teachers/ and management! This is a wonderful place to be!

Due to the pandemic, we've been able to transition our child from full-time daycare to preschool…read moresince we both work from home. I did a lot of research regarding local preschools, and Child's Play was the clear winner for us! The cost is very affordable (and listed on their website, I believe). Hours are 9am-1pm with some additional before and after care options (offered separately not by the school). Drop-off and pick-up lines are very quick and smooth, especially compared to the stressful situations that I observe at other local preschools. The director is very warm and friendly. The school is faith-based with weekly chapel. COVID policies are either in line or slightly more laidback than other preschools / childcare locally. Children are not required to wear masks at any age. Teachers do not wear masks in the classroom, but some choose to wear masks when aiding the children in and out of cars in the drop-off and pick-up line. I have not personally heard of any COVID cases at the school this school year (2020-2021). I believe children can start as young as 18-24 months and stay until kindergarten. If you choose to hold back your child from K5, note that there is not a K5 transitional program but they can repeat the K4 curriculum. We have been very pleased with Child's Play and would recommend the program to anyone!

Love sending my child here. The teachers are great, and the kids come home with lots of projects.read more

It also fosters independence and my kids are capable of so many things that I never thought they would be at their ages. The teachers are kind and patient, but firm, and they really get to know you children and appreciate who they are as individuals. The fresh, healthy snacks from a local co-op are just a bonus. My only problem with the school is that it doesn't go past age 6. We'll be so sad to leave!

I have a 2 year old and 5 year old at SMS. My 5 year old has been attending since he was 3 and the…read moreschool opened. We were planning on homeschooling but I still wanted our kids to start with some school environment experience. Smyrna Montessori School was everything we were looking for. My children get lots of individual attention, are encouraged to explore and learn as much as they want and have had some wonderful friendships develop. There is a strong sense of respect modeled through kindness towards the teachers, classmates, learning materials and the world (cultures, the environment). The teachers love my children like they were their own and are passionate about the Montessori style of learning. Both of my children have gained a lot of confidence and independence since they began there. If I ever have a question I can set up a time to talk with any teacher. I'm always impressed with how aware they are of everything my child deals with on a daily basis, what their strengths are, how much progress they have made in areas of behavior, character and learning. I do wish they extended beyond the Primary program (3-6 years). I don't think there is any problem with illness any different than any other school environment. I don't love that the lead toddler teacher spot has changed hands a few times, but I understand that when a teacher has a baby she will want to take time to be with her new baby. This has been the only reason for teachers leaving that I am aware of. Those teachers have stayed in contact with the school and return for visits when possible. We feel very fortunate to be at Smyrna Montessori School and are so happy it opened at the perfect time for our kids. And as far as safety goes, our children are referred to as precious gifts, children are not allowed out of the classroom unless a teacher or parent is with them and the school and yard are secured during the day. I have no concern for my children's safety at all. Montessori is a different approach to learning than what a lot of people are used to, but for us it has been perfect. Oh, and I LOVE that I get an email and photos every week from each of my kids teachers touching on what the kids are working on and enjoying and some explanation about the Montessori process.

Breakfast and lunch is provided and they have around 15:1 student teacher ratio. Before the pandemic the care was much better my daugther loved Ms. Celostia and Ms. Carrie she spoke about them everyday. But, you get what you pay for essentially. After the pandemic, my daugther experienced more biting incidents scratches, and safety hazards like constant falling. The final straw was picking her up after a 11 hour day she immediately complained about her pee pee. She was grabbing and screaming it. I took her home and changed her diaper to find dirt, soggy broken Elisa pamper pull-up from that morning, strong urine odor, and a horrible diaper rash. I checked the daily report there was on update of a changed diaper at 4:11pm (not true). The daycare uses Luv's pampers. They were potty training 30 kids using 2 potty's from my understanding. But the timeframes don't add up. I called the daycare they claimed she was dry for 11 hours!!! Even with that argument the severity of her rash and the smell I should have been called from work how bad it was. I rushed her to Children's Hospital Urgent Care on Chastain Rd. They had to take a urine sample and she was diagnosed with UTI and was on antibiotics and a steroid rash cream for a week. She creamed in agony at the hospital just two hours from leaving daycare of her pee pee burning and hurting. I had to leave work for a week to care for her. The new teachers hired need to make sure they really watch they children bottoms. She is fine now but we decided it was not a good fit for her anymore.
