I take some kids clothes. Nothing in terrible shape. A lot from Dillards or Disney store, better quality stuff. They said it was too worn for them or they were already stocked up on the sizes I was getting rid of didn't want any. Which is understandable. I looked around the store and it looked like the place had mostly brand new clothes with tags, so I guess they're supporting the crackhead economy by buying brand new stolen clothes from crackheads, not to say that is bad I guess everyone's gotta get their fix somehow. What pissed me off tho is they didn't just say "we only really buy new stuff from crackheads" or "we are already stocked up on these sizes" which would've been fine, they acted like my stuff was stained and worn out then told me to go check with some other store, so I wasted more of my time going to the other store to be told they don't buy kids clothes. If you're trying to trade your kids outgrown clothes for bigger kids clothes, that's not really the reality here like the sign says. But if you want some half off brand new clothes you can get some good deals if you're just buying clothes and don't mind that they were probably shoplifted from somewhere by someone who probably can't tell you what planet they're on. read more

It's a nice store but unfortunately they don't have a maternity section which is really odd to me since that is in the same category for resale. The reason why I'm giving two stars is solely for the customer service I received. It was my first time every in the store. When I walked in I wasn't greeted. And when I went to check out the girl at the register didn't acknowledge me she just told another worker to check me out. While she was ringing me up she just stared off into the distance waiting for the machine to process she didn't engage conversation with me or anything. It wasn't a lack of people working. Do not shop here. I would recommend looking elsewhere to purchase children's clothing. No wonder Children's Orchard has dropped from 35 franchises 10 years ago down to 22 today. Because they employ rude and belligerent employees. I wanted to call up and speak with the owner but the employee once she knew I was not happy with their service, refused to even give me the owners name. That should tell you something about how you were treated when an employee won't let you know who owns the business. Because they don't want their boss to know how they have treated their customers. To the owner: i'm sure Sarah will paint a picture where she did nothing wrong and handled the situation appropriately, but know this, I would've much rather reached out to you and spoken with you directly but she didn't make that possible. Let me preface this by saying I have spent over a decade of my working life in retail, 75% of that time being in management... If I EVER witnessed any of my employees acting this way or treating customers this way I would have FIRED THEM IMMEDIATELY !! The following incidents occurred on 4/27 and 4/28. One employee for certain was named Vanessa, who apparently thinks it's okay to hang up on customers, call them back to resolve the issue, then hang up on them again. Vanessa also thinks it's okay to refuse to give out the store managers name so that I may properly address them when I contact the owner and the Better Business Bureau. The same 3 employees, including a "key holder" (as told by Vanessa), Vanessa, and one additional female, were all 3 working together during the afternoon hours on both the 27th and 28th. The "key holder" is the rude employee I am referring to below. Firstly, I walked in on Wednesday with a large drop off and 2 employees (that were NOT otherwise busy or on task) watched from behind the counter as I struggled to get through the door with 2 bags full of toys. I struggled SO much with it at the door that one of the bags I brought ripped on the door frame as I was coming in. It was painfully obvious I needed help or just for someone to get the door, all while these "employees" are just sitting there watching with their thumbs up their you know whats. Then only after I've gotten ALLLLLLLL the way up to the counter with no help, this employee said to me in a very rude and condescending tone "Uhm... your bag is ripped." I responded, "what a keen observation, are you going to help me out?" Then she says, "we don't take ripped bags" to which I replied "are you kidding me?" She says "nope, I'm not." The bag literally never would have ripped if these good for NOTHING employees would have just helped me through the door!! My mind was blown at her audacity to just sit there and watch me struggle, then refuse attempt to refuse my business. (You all ended up keeping nearly ALL of those toys by the way, so WOW.) I left LIVID with my jaw on the floor at this employee's continued attitude with me during the whole drop off experience. Then YESTERDAY. Yesterday I came back to pick up and it was even WORSE. I LEFT SHAKING I WAS SO UPSET! I should never patronize a business and leave feeling that way, NO ONE should. Not only was I not greeted when I walked in yesterday, I was straight up ignored. I proceeded to stand there at the (drop off/pick up) counter closest to the door while TWO employees went through a box of clothes (a job for ONE person) and never acknowledged me. The rude employee/key holder from Wednesday was ringing up one of two SHOPPING customers in her line of 2 people, each person checking out had 10+ items. I stood there for a SOLID 3-4 minutes before the rude employee literally yelled at me from behind the cash wrap with a look on her face to match her attitude, "can I help you with something?" Like you don't know what I'm standing there for, seriously? Her attitude and lack of a proper greeting when I entered the store made it apparent she recognized me from yesterday and was holding some sort of grudge. I said "I'm here to pick up" and she said "the line starts back there" rudely gesturing behind the two shoppers checking out. I wish you could have heard the tone in her voice, even the two customers she was checking out gave the side eye! Can someone please explain to me why these employees think pickups/drop offs are not separate from people checking out and buying things? I've been using consignment stores for years, the store is literally set up with a drop off counter and a separate cashwrap counter with the cash registers. The separate counters sure make it seem like those are separate lines, just as it is set up in other comparable consignment businesses... Anyway, I stood there in that line meant for shopping customers for 15 minutes and WATCHED while the other two employees stacked and unstacked the same baskets over and over, and fumbled with hangers that were already organized. It was clear that Vanessa and the other girl were BOTH wandering aimlessly behind the cashwrap and could have checked me out. I stood there watching in amazement as these ill-mannered employees literally made me 25 minutes late for my appointment by this lack of customer service and general efficiency in operations... long story short of it, I am NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER. The employees here are appallingly rude and have no idea how to treat customers. Don't these people realize that every customer that walk through those doors IS your livelihood, and you should treat them as such?! It was so obvious she recognized me from Wednesday and was being EXTRA nasty because of it, so much so that your other customers noticed. There was absolutely no reason one of those other TWO employees couldn't have checked me out. Why did I have to wait for that long on other shoppers? Why are your employees so rude?! read more

I bought a little tikes Dino trike, in the box. asked the clerk if all the pieces were there and she said "oh yes, we never sell any toys with missing pieces". got home and three vital parts were not there so it would not work. tried to return it and they would not give me even a store credit! Every time I come here the Hispanic employees are RUDE no one acknowledged me while I was standing at the side counter with a bag to sell. I finally said "hello, I've never sold here, how does this work" she said "the line is over there". The only reason I didn't leave was because I drove an hour. Then when I finally got to the counter with the bag, She still wouldn't communicate about the process. She said we'll call you Monday with your offer. No thank you, have a good day or nothing. Then Monday comes she called and said "you have until 6 to pick up your offer or the items will be donated" and wouldn't tell me the offer over the phone. They will rip you off when selling items. I bought in a few items, like like new. A 3-in1 activity walker, a pair of twinkle toes shoes to name a few. They were going to offer me $10 cash for the items they choose. That is ridiculous. They have cute clothes and I just have to wonder how manny times they have pulled this on people. Dropped clothes off for drop of Friday and was told that I can pick up the next day for a cash payment. When I got there today the lady said that she didn't have cash and that I could come back Monday to pick up cash. I had called earlier and they didn't tell me that they didn't have cash so not only did I waste a trip which is 30 min each way for me, but it's also a stupid business model to tell people that you're gonna pay cash and then run out of cash and you can't pay them. I will never be back in this store. I brought my two daughters down here to buy baby clothes. We drove 60 miles one way. There was absolutely nothing on the shelves. All you could here were the two employees making fun of what people had brought in to sell. One was speaking I. Spanish. She needs to understand that most people nowadays can speak fluent Spanish. If she was my employee I would have fired her n the spot. The short time we were in there t, the employees told to people that they wouldn't even open there bags to look at the clothes because they stunk so bad. I have shopped here and found lots of cute clothes for my 2 girls. Today I brought clothes in to consign for the first time. Jessie, the manager, was polite and a pleasure to work with. They didn't choose some of the clothes that I thought were super cute but, hey, it's their store and they know what sells well there! I didn't take it personally! I will never be back to this store. The owner(?) or employee with red hair is so incredibly rude. She takes her sweet time to even address her customers. Then she acts like she's doing you a favor to just look at your items for sale. Once Upon A Child Stores are so much better than this store. Also, they are "going green" so they have no bags but they will not put your purchases in a bag that you brought. After giving them a second shot at my services due to the unprofessionalism I received during my first visit, yet again I left beyond rage!! The staff at this location is not only rude, arrogant, unprofessional, and sly comments to they're customers left me in total disbelief!! I will Never support an organization that falsely advertise to the public for likes instead of having a true motto in giving back at a discounted price when you're disrespectful to the many customers that help make this mission possible. Disappointing experience. We were thrilled to learn a Children's Orchard was opening here; we had great experiences with another location when we lived in another state. Sadly, I will not be doing business with this Children's Orchard again. Upon arriving the sales associate behind the counter rudely explained how the services worked. Her being curt was a warning sign. I dropped my things off and returned after receiving the text from them. To say they are "picky" or "snooty" is an understatement. They are not very accommodating nor could the girl give me much of an explanation beyond if the clothes were more than two years old they wouldn't take them. Example: Izod classic navy blazer (Belk's retail $80) size 12 in perfect condition (worn one season of Cotillion but sat in garment bag in the closet for two+ years) was rejected. You can go to a department store and still purchase the very same blazer, same material, same buttons, same cut. So this doesn't really make sense to me. Everything I questioned I was told, "well that's our policy" with a dead look and a shrug. Previously in other stores the owner was present, very willing to form relationships and work with you, maybe ask you to bring something back closer to being in season, etc. When I inquired about the owner of this location I was told the owner will never be there and they own four other stores, including the one next door, so they're too busy. Basically the store is being run by very young people with no sense of customer service relations, common sense or ability to make a sound judgement call. Absent owners often translate to absent customers. Too bad because the concept and franchise is wonderful and works beautifully in other places. Save your time and wait out Rhea Lana, Duck Duck Goose or your own garage sale. If I could give this a negative star rating I would. read more
