The staff joined the YEE community virtually to introduce us to the goats and provide a background on the nonprofit's mission. Fast forward to November 2023, I finally visited Philly Goat project in person! I'd initially planned to visit the zoo on this day, but realized it had gotten too late to gain entry. Change of plans was a visit to Awbury and seeing the goats and chickens onsite! The goats are fun, and the staff is friendly and informative. If you visit and don't see the goats, check the map. It will highlight where the goats are, since they get their exercise around the grounds all day. We found the goats in a meadow area and said hello as it started to drizzle. Lots of fun! Bride requested this location…read more First and foremost the server taking care of us was lovely, super accommodating and took great care of us!! The space was beautiful. Didn't make a stink the day of because our server was so kind and we had such a great day, but if you're looking to plan an event there are definitely things you should be made aware of. Planning and preparing for the event with the event coordinator was a bit of a pain and that pain continued into the event itself. Communication was not great, emails taking days or weeks to respond and can't get anyone on the phone. We had to reschedule a meeting due to a medical issue on her part (which was totally fine) but there was no communication on the clubs end of things (even after I called the day of the meeting and was told someone would be getting back to me, no one did). We later had to reschedule another meeting which was this time my fault. The week of, after requesting it, I was sent the invoice for the event. The invoice was not accurate so I asked for it to be adjusted and was told it would be sent back.. it wasn't. Day of the shower one of the bridesmaids was first to arrive and the coordinator did not bother to show her to the room or say hello, introduce herself, nothing. During the shower there was not lemonade and iced tea on the tables as I had discussed with the coordinator. We get to the start of food and I notice after everyone has already eaten that the rolls and butter were never put out, the waitress says she wasn't told and scrambles to find us rolls and butter. When planning with the coordinator, we discussed doing a mimosa bar for the purpose of cutting cost on a full bar and bartender, she failed to tell me that the champagne bottles they sell are $45 a bottle, it was NOT cheaper than doing a full bar. All in all for the cost of the venue ($600 room rental plus food and beverage plus a 20% gratuity on the ENTIRE bill, not just food and bev) there are DEFINITELY better places to host your event. It's a shame because the event space is beautiful, but it seems as though the event coordination is lacking tremendously. I wish I would have read more reviews before booking because it seems as though these aren't new issues.

The one issue to note is that the usual road that leads up to Kids at play was under construction and we walked half a mile to get to it. I received an email receipt for a booking of that date, no call or personal email. I also sent several emails prior to both event dates asking what time I could access our space in order to set up and none of them were ever returned. Again was told you didn't have a private event slot available, but did have the semi private which we accepted based on the assumption that semi private meant instead of just our party there would be an additional party. But I did not expect was there to be an additional party, several groups, and I guess free play all happening during our "semi private event " When we arrived and checked in, we were told we were in the room on the right and only when I said, I don't know what that means or where that is did somebody get up to show us to the space. Our party was scheduled from 1 to 3 and at five or three as we were cleaning up an employee came in with giant black trash bags, and started unloading the trash. At this time that we noticed that the people waiting to get into our room for their event time had been there playing for the entire two hours of our event so there was our party group the other party group and then the 3 o'clock group there are all playing during our semi private event plus the people coming in for free play. Luckily, my son just turned five and had fun with his friends but to say I was disappointed is a very big understatement. For the price difference of having a private event to having multiple groups of people and FreePlay going on during your event isn't worth the savings

It was a…read morevery straightforward set up - check in and get your life vests, take their shuttle bus to the starting point on the river, get whatever style tube you paid for (we chose tubes with backrests and one cooler tube), and get out on the water! We slowly floated down the river, listened to music on our small portable speaker, swam around, made a short stop along a rocky bank at the edge of the water, and got to the end point after just over 3 hours. We got the shuttle bus back to the Twin Rivers office to drop off the life vests, then went back to our car in the parking deck right across the street. Very simple, and lots of fun!

We were told the woman was flat chested and we wanted to book Spider-Man, so cool. What we got when she arrived was a not so flat chested woman in a bad Spider-Man costume. Ok, the costume should have been better since that's how she makes her money, but whatever I would have given a better star rating if that was the only issue. We hired her for a 4 year olds birthday party to twist balloons, sing happy birthday and do any photo ops. She did do balloon twisting but they kept on coming undone and popping. She also barely acknowledged my son, didn't really interact with the kids, other than to ask what balloon they wanted and didn't even sing happy birthday to my son! Also, the photo ops were a joke. She hid in a corner and when I tried to get a picture with my son and her, she was very stand offish and it almost felt like it was an inconvenience to her. Luckily my son was 4, but there were older kids there that definitely knew something was up.
