I never write reviews, especially for health care providers because I have spent my career in the…read morefield and I know how hard it is to make patients happy. However, we left the Mobile Pediatric Clinic practice today because Dr. Savells made a decision to over bill for an service we didn't consent to and then when brought to her attention to make it right, she refused to remove the service she billed that was not asked for, consented to OR in any clinical way related the reason for of visit. The service that was billed was also not "delivered". Dr. Savells saw my son for constipation. My son has had a history of ear infections, which had nothing to do with why we were there on that day. We have been seeing an ENT for pretty regularly to keep a watch on his ears. Dr. Savells decided to look in his ears just because. She decided in one ear, without my permission, to do a quick sweep because there was wax in the way of her view I guess? Not any where near what I would consider a procedure, was surely not consented to by me - a very small amount I could have cleared myself with a tissue or q-tip. From talking to a family member who is a Ped NP, they do this fairy regularly just as part of their practice and do not bill as a "procedure". She then finally proceeded to see my son for what we were there for. On her claim, she documented she performed an ear extraction procedure which cost the insurance company hundreds of dollars. When I questioned it, as well as the $$$ charge it triggered to my deductible she refused to remove it, saying it was justified. I told the practice we'd be leaving. I've spoken to physician, NP, PA friends about this experience and not only do they agree it's not appropriate they also don't think it should have been billed for, especially without discussion about the "procedure" and my consent. She could have done the right thing, but she chose not to. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone who truly doesn't have the means.

I absolutely loved Dr. Williams, she was very informative and knew what she was doing. The nurse who administered shots to my kid was fast and gentle as well. I overall will recommend this clinic to everybody around the area. Also my appointment time, I did not have to wait long. They took me in within 5 minutes and the checkup was fast and easy!

I have always loved and praised children's medical group but today they have lost my confidence…read more Telling me they can't refer my child to orthopedic with a broken ankle because insurance wouldn't cover it if they didn't diagnose it. As the primary care Dr they are the only ones who can put the referral in. I disagreed with this statement and it finally came out it's because it was diagnosed in urgent care and they "don't trust urgent cares". How can you not trust other Doctors and radiologists and want me to use up resources in the emergency room Instead? Then to tell me tricare won't pay for it if they do? I know that my child had broken a bone before and we went to urgent care and then called our primary in GA and they put a referral in immediately. Instead wanting me to come in for another appointment with them to go to another facility to get an X-ray (because they don't have X-ray services) then get a referral. I refused as that would bill my insurance twice for the same thing and cause delays in care for my child with a broken bone. The pediatrician put the referral in (reluctantly), But they coded it as routine for ankle swelling and pain. Not as urgent and that there is a fracture. Then called me the next day while I was talking to the insurance company about 30 min after they submitted the referral to let me know it wasn't approved yet. (Pettiness has no place in a pediatric office)
