I was thinking about things I like so that I can review them, because I want to get my Yelp count higher. Even though I have not had my kids at AIA for a couple of years, this school is one of the first things I thought of. I had two children in this school. The older one attended from K through 5. When she graduated, I had to take the younger one over to their new school as well, because it is impractical for me to have them in two different locations. We only left for logistical reasons. We love this school. I wish I was wealthy so that I could invest in this school and help them expand. Okay, now on to the meat of the review. This school attracts kids from several different cultures. They have very committed teachers. Their founder, Dixie, is one of the kindest people I have ever met. They use Montessori methods, but they are not afraid to adapt their system to meet the needs of each child. My older child learned to read and write better than some of my fellow graduate students! I credit this school for that. I will name a few of the awesome teachers they have (or have had), but I am sure the others are great as well: Mrs. Turner, Mrs. McDaniel, Mrs. Littlewood, and Mrs. Narayan. If you want a well-designed adaptive Montessori program for your kids - that teaches excellent life skills as well - this is the place to bring them. This school does have a Christian affiliation, which would have normally made me wary because we are UUs, not Christian. However, as is appropriate for an international school, religious participation is voluntary. The school had children from families that are Christian, Jewish, UU, Hindu, and Muslim (and probably others). It seemed that none of them experienced religious conflict. So, if you want to teach religious tolerance to your kids, this is a great place.

We reached out right away, explained everything and asked if they could make an exception. They absolutely could have if they wanted to, but instead chose to charge us close to $2,000 and kept pointing us back to the contract and legal language. I even appealed directly to both the outgoing and incoming heads of the school, hoping there would be some understanding given the circumstances and how quickly we notified them. Unfortunately, there was none. The saving grace for us was my son's teachers, Mr. Rao and Mrs. Joshi. They were wonderful and we genuinely appreciated them. Beyond that, I was never particularly impressed with the administration or the overall experience. For a school that positions itself as a premier institution and has so many positive accolades, our experience was very different. To us, it felt like a pretty average/subpar school packaged and marketed as something much more. If you are considering AIA, just make sure you read every line of what you sign. Don't assume there will be any flexibility or understanding even when circumstances change within a matter of days.

The activities that they do in their classrooms are incredible - they get to participate in Chinese, Spanish, Art and gym classes. The Director, Assistant Director and all of the teachers are very professional, and they genuinely care for every student that walks through their doors. When the boys wake up on the weekends and become disappointed that they are not going to school, it provides us with such peace of mind knowing that they love their teachers, friends and the overall learning experience that Cadence provides. Cadence has become a part of our extended family, and we are forever grateful that we found them.

We also enrolled our son at Cadence since he was 3 months old and he is now almost 4 years old, about to start Pre-K. Ms. Mickie and Ms. Kelly are amazing. They have very high standards for the daycare and always communicate with the parents. I email them and will always receive a response within 24-48 hours, most of the time the day of. As parents, we really appreciate the communication and transparency. The teachers are the best of the best. Most of them have been there decades and they truly love the kids. We love Ms. Monica and Ms. Maria, they treat the kids like their own. It really feels like a family. I cannot rave about them enough. They also send daily updates on the activities, what they ate, and pictures throughout the day. There is Mandarin class every Tuesday, book days, yoga, arts and crafts, STEM learning, etc. We love the school and cannot recommend them enough.

Unfortunately, we have faced issues with unfair accusations that have caused unnecessary stress for our family. My son's teacher approached me with concerns regarding my son and as she's telling me these concerns i pulled my son out of class to question him about these accusations. He did Admit to Miss. Abi and myself that he in fact did pull his pants down on the playground. So as I'm disciplining my child based on this accusation, his teacher is there just watching. Later on that night my son's father and i are questioning him again about this accusation as he's never done this before and now hes admitting he didnt do it. The next day I requested video footage of this incident that apparently happened on the playground because when I questioned the teachers, whether or not they seen this incident happened, they both denied seeing this accusation take place. (So why are you telling me this happened when there is NO PROOF) Finally, I got the footage and my son in fact did NOT pull his pants down. He was trying to pull his friends legs down the slide and accidentally pulled his friends pants down a little bit in the process which the principal stated looked purely innocent and non-intentional. No apology has been made to my son nor i for this accusation being made. It truly shows their lack of professionalism. Rather than approaching concerns with open communication and understanding, the teachers made assumptions without fully investigating the situation or considering our child's perspective. This has created an uncomfortable environment where we feel unheard. As parents, we expect educators to foster a nurturing and supportive atmosphere, but instead, we have encountered miscommunication and a lack of professionalism in handling concerns. I would not recommend this classroom to other parents unless significant changes are made to ensure fairness, proper communication, and a more compassionate approach towards students and their families.

Moving a young child away from a familiar environment, teachers, and friends is never easy. We were so pleasantly surprised by how smooth the transition was, and we truly credit the warm and welcoming environment at Preston Ridge. The teachers are incredibly caring, patient, and genuinely sweet with the children. Ms. Affy and Ms. Sumi have been especially wonderful with our child. They've been so attentive, caring, and thoughtful in getting to know her and making sure she feels supported. From the very beginning, our child felt comfortable and welcomed, which gave us so much peace of mind as parents. She's excited to go to school every day, has settled in naturally, and is really thriving. Seeing her build relationships with her teachers and classmates and become so confident in a new environment has been such a relief to us. One of the things that really stands out to us is how thoughtful the school is about the children's overall well-being. They have an in-house chef, and we recently learned that the meals are prepared without added salt or sugar. Even for occasional treats, they use alternatives like maple syrup rather than processed sugar. Those kinds of details really matter to us. The food already tastes great, but knowing that the school is so thoughtful about what goes into it makes it even better. The cameras are another feature we really appreciated, especially during the transition. Sometimes you just miss your kid in the middle of the day, and being able to take two minutes to check in and see them in the classroom is such a nice reassurance as a parent. I don't find myself checking nearly as much now that our child is fully settled, but in those early weeks, it made a big difference. We also really like the school's approach to learning. There's a strong Montessori component, with an emphasis on allowing children to take the lead and building on their interests. At the same time, the teachers do a great job introducing activities and concepts that help prepare them for the next stage, including kindergarten. It feels like a good balance between following the child and making sure they're developing the skills they need. I especially like that the teachers find ways to make learning interesting and engaging while still making sure the kids are learning what they need to learn. Ms. Nikki, the director, has also made a great impression on us. She's clearly passionate about the school and is constantly looking for ways to improve an already wonderful environment. She's approachable, open to feedback, and makes a real effort to hear from parents and understand what is working and what could be even better. We are so grateful that we found Preston Ridge. After getting to know the school, the teachers, and the way they care for and educate the children, we feel confident that we made the right decision for our family. 20/20 is hindsight here... this is lengthy…read more In mid-July of 2019, a foster child was placed in my home. You can imagine my anxiety and stress at the time, but when I got a call from Cynthia saying that I can enroll my kiddo in their GA Pre-K program, it was such a relief. Paperwork completed, court docs submitted to the school, hastey orientation/open house provided... the school year was rocky, but with a lot of patience and support from Ms. Lisa and Binal, we made it through to March 2020... COVID 19. Honestly, Ms. Lisa and Binal are why I am giving two stars instead of just one. Bright from the Start categorizes our students based upon their socio economic status and needs. This is done behind the scene's and is the provider's responsibility to request adequate documentation and properly categorize the kids when reporting to the state. Needless to say, my foster child was miscategorized. I was charged monthly for meals which the state/federal gov would have provided at no expense to me, if this clerical error did not occur. I found this out when applying for much needed aid during this pandemic. Again, due to this error, my Child did not qualify. I spoke with the DOE along with the Department of Human Services, and because the reports were submitted in error, there is no way to correct my student's record. After finding all of this out, I requested a full refund and the value of the aid lost. I emailed Tiffany, Brittney, Cynthia and their Bright from the Start Rep. I followed up, requesting a corporate contact... no response. I contacted the corporate office's generic number and recruiter and left messages. After a month of no response, I emailed the CEO and CFO of Spring Education, whose name I pulled from the secretary of state's website, along with the school administrators. I FINALLY received a response. This response was from corporate's counsel & yes, all blame is being put on me. I didn't provide the documents needed to properly categorize my Child, and apparently, I was asked "repeatedly" for it. A blatant lie. If you are thinking of enrolling in the GA Pre-K Program here and your Child has an IEP or is on MediCaid, do not. The administrators of the school are not familiar with the services available and are clueless when it comes to Public Education Programs.

I was required to…read morepay a deposit fee plus an entire month's tuition up front to secure my spot ($1700 total). 24 hours later I received a message from the school I was on a waitlist for that a 5 day spot was now available, which is what we really needed. I explained to Goddard management that the other school was 5 min from my house, less expensive, and most importantly had a 5 day spot available. I asked if I could at least get some of my money back given the circumstances. They refused to give me back ANY of the $1700 deposit despite the fact that they only had it for less than 48 business hours. My child never even visited the school. They claimed that I could have taken a spot from someone else. I paid them Thursday afternoon and informed them Monday morning about my change of plans. If someone visited Friday who wanted that spot, am I really supposed to believe they couldn't have contacted them immediately on Monday to let them know about an opening? I reached out again and was told they never filled the spot. So if you couldn't fill that spot anyway, why couldn't I get even half of my money back? It's not like we took someone else's spot (according to them anyway). The school we ended up joining didn't require any deposit to secure my spot, and the owner purposely enrolls less students than the GA requirement to provide a better and more nurturing environment. My son has about 13 kids in his class vs. the 20+ children in the Goddard class. It's clear that the owner is all about money and posting on social media. I am so happy we found a better place for my child.
