Staff have always been friendly to me, and the location always looks clean and organized. One thing the location would improve is the seating area in Starbucks, and installing areas where computer users can plug their items in while conducting work there. I cannot find any outlets that are accessible in the seating areas of the cafe. Remodeling the cafe area to provide more seating options and accommodate customers' needs will attract more business. I hope you expand out to the Waterville, Maine, area.

I am visiting family and needed a quiet place to work, so I stopped in thinking this establishment would be like all the others. Nope. That wasn't the case. 1. Their Starbucks are not associated with official Starbucks's and They do not take the mobile app or gift cards for payment. It was hard to watch the employees cringe when they had to state that 5 times after I walked in to other patrons. 2. No outlets. Zero outlets, to plug into, to do studying or work. I was told the only outlets were along the wall in the book store and I would have to sit on the floor..... because that was the only option for even local students..... unsatisfactory.... 3. They were out of almond milk..... 4. The store is lucky they have really nice employees, otherwise this would have been a lower rating.

It took two weeks and numerous phone that she did not return for her to correct it, and she still would not take responsibility of it or to apologize. Instead, solely for this error that could have been credit card fraud, she denied that it happened and retaliated against me by closing my account. Again, I was not the one committing possible fraud. Snowflake Mary did like hearing of my complaint and their repeated refusal to look into it and respond. I contacted the owner by email about this and he ignored my complaint, which means he approved and condoned of her conduct and the overcharge, If you don't like being overcharged and the hubris of the employee who will not take responsibility, pick another company to buy your music and movies from. You'll find this inside the Rock City Cafe in the back area, though mind you the cafe opens before the bookstore does. They had a good variety of genres as well as used and new books. Any book lover could definitely find a hidden gem here during their browsing. Prices seemed good including a rack outside marked as on sale books. A perfect idea to open this bookshop in the same building as the cafe. Browse and find that next book you want to read before enjoying a coffee and breakfast or lunch. Worth a visit!

Like all the Sherman locations my wife and I have visited they are not just simply a bookstore. They have a wide variety of souvenirs and other goodies you may want to buy. Book wise they have a good variety of new and popular along with classics and organize them neatly in well marked areas by genre with some Maine focused book areas even. During our visit it was very busy and my wife found a couple books that piqued her interest. I do think due to how much of the area is touristy and distance from me I likely wouldn't seek this particular location out again. Much closer locations with better overall set up. Nothing outright negative about this one besides some areas really lacking space for a busy store making it hard to move. Glad to have now visited this one! If you are visiting from away visit here and check out one of the locations of Maine's oldest bookstores, add it to your list. Some other great shops and good spots to eat nearby.

This was the second Sherman's my wife and I visited during the day we came here. All of them will offer a great variety of classics and new and popular books available. They also all have a great amount of books that are on sale and you can find some great deals on books. A section worth looking through no matter the location. The best thing about this particular location is the fact they aren't crammed space wise and even if it were busy I wouldn't have felt claustrophobic. That positive does make it a better location than a few of the others. Although I do believe this one kinda falls a little short being uninspired and lacking a great charm to it. The staff we interacted with were friendly but it only occurred when checking out. It's a solid location and worth visiting just not our favorite Sherman's. Like all the other locations they have far more than books and lots of items everyone will like!

Personally, I like the way the Falmouth store is laid out more (having so many staff and neighbor recommendations immediately at the front of the store). This Sherman's in Topsham feels like it wants you to do your own exploring; it's cleverly/cheekily organized (make sure to look at the bookshelves titles). We were here for at least an hour just leisurely looking through the bookshelves, before making another lap, and another... I'm sure we could have been here even longer, and no one would have minded. It helps that they have chairs throughout! From what I understand, this Sherman's does an exceptional job with special orders, so if you're looking for something specific, reach out to these folks! The staff seemed *very* selectively friendly (I wasn't on the receiving end of that warmth, but I watched them have welcoming, neighborly banter with other customers [regulars, I'm guessing]). This is one of those places you WANT to sign up for their rewards program: you just need to give them your name and phone number and for every $200 you spent you get $10 a credit!
