In the infant room the teachers are very flexible and make sure the infant's day is as close to a day at home as possible. They allow you to bring in food and snacks from home once the infant is old enough for solid foods and have no problem adjusting to any meal substitutions. Our child loves coming to the center and lights up every time she sees her teachers. They incorporate age specific activities in their curriculum to further the child's growth. Education is a big part of the curriculum in all classrooms which is very important to us. The Gingerbread House was voted best daycare center in Syracuse for a reason and I would highly recommend enrolling your child(ren) here.

They raise their fees with 0 notice and charge late fees when it's on THEIR end. For example, they didn't notify me that my payment didn't go through until a week after the normal charge date. They waited so that I could get charged a late fee and now they won't let me cancel my membership. Terrible place to call a "family center". Even Planet Fitness is better than here Edit: a lady i reached out to came back to me by email. She said an email was sent to me the same day the payment was declined but that was false. I check my emails periodically throughout the day and nothing was sent, not even in my junk folder. She went on to discuss the policy and waiver that was signed but i think that was a cover up for their problems with communication. Not to mention the people at the front desk don't know anything. Every day, my husband (SU prof) and I (hs teacher) knew that we were bringing her to work with teachers, administrators, and support staff who knew our daughter well and cared for her, taught her, and loved her like she was their own. It is so hard to leave your child in the care of others, but those extra-special people at Kindercare make it feel like leaving your little one with family. We were incredibly happy with the curriculum, but more happy that each day is play-centered. The other students and families are kind and great community. Every teacher knows each student in the school - truly, it is a special place that we will both miss and recommend.

We ended up deciding on the JCC based on what we heard from others as well as the tour there, and are so happy that we did. My son's teachers keep us updated via the HiMama app throughout the day and are so caring and responsive to any questions or concerns. There are numerous outdoor play areas and the facility is very clean and organized. They have an excellent covid policy in place as well, which keeps the children and staff as safe as possible. We are also JCC fitness center members and enjoy the facilities, and we plan to look into the offered work out classes as well!

That was called the Downtown Branch. Anyway. This is not a great YMCA by any stretch of the imagination, and it has a strange layout and looks a little bit like it was built in 1952 or something. Nevertheless I was happy that it was here, and the pool was mostly empty, and while it smelled weird, it was so quiet and only one other person was there the whole time I was there. That was much better for my swimming than most others I've tried, especially my home one in Buffalo (Williamsville) where the pool gets so crowded, it's a joke. However, some of the equipment desperately needs replacing, so I can't really give more than a four. Rusted out and really poor for lifting. At least getting in here was no big problem.
