It occurred to me later that this might not be totally wash and wear- because I didn't remember to request that. I left with a super cute modern Farrah Faucet style that they carefully crafted. BUT I got out of the shower and just kind of scrunched my layers as they dried- SUPER CUTE. Natural volume and curl. The cut will be easy to dress up or down- and I'm not overwhelmed by the amount of hair strangling me in my sleep and tugging my neck wrong with the weight when I'm washing it. THANK YOU ERIC. They just had a cancellation and said they could take me in 2 hours. I am very picky about my hair as I have baby fine hair that any accidental cut can lead to a bald spot. I have only ever had 2 other hairdressers I have loved. Diane was AMAZING. She was very concerned about not damaging my hair during the bleaching process and was very sweet. As soon as she washed out the bleach I could tell the platinum was going to come out perfect which never happens. She was also amazing with her cutting skills. She had taken a before and after (I know I was really due for a cut) and I was shocked about just how badly it was needed. Highly recommend her and was very impressed in general. Will definitely be back.

I was floored by his skills and attention to detail, not only towards my hair but also to my comfort. Making an appointment was easy - just text his number and asked about availability and sent pictures. I drove from South Bay but this was more than worth the hour drive. Plenty of street parking available. Upon arrival at 3:30 pm on a weekday, K greeted me with warmth into his well lit studio. Chic Hair Design is a one man show. I'm not sure about other's preferences, but I appreciate having one expert care for my hair from beginning to end (vs 5 different people passing the baton on different tasks). K inspected my hair thoroughly, made recommendations, and took the extra mile to ensure my shirt stayed clean, that I had something to drink, and kept me laughing with his charming demeanor. He makes it very apparent that he enjoys his career. Color, shampoo, haircut, blow dry, and style took a little less than 3 hours and the result was stunning! K made me feel like a K-drama main character walking out of the salon hahaha. His pricing is competitive - so do tip him generously! Can't wait to come back!

Once you walk in, you know you're in a salon that is clean, well valued, and have a sense of serenity! The decor is also on point and there has never been a time that I've gone that the shop has been in a disarray. What shop have you ever been to that's always spotless and smell good at all times no matter how busy it is. Toni makes sure she takes pride in her brand and is a perfect example of her work! She is always put together and never makes excuses as to why her hair or appearance is a mess and she is always professional. This is why I was shocked to see the 1 star review that was left! I'm not a hairstylist, but I do have curly hair and know that my curly hair will never be bone straight with a relaxer. A relaxer is made to straighten your hair, but a good stylist is able to keep your hair healthy by keeping the integrity of your texture, especially when you want to add color. That is one thing Toni and I have discussed when she has colored my hair in the past. Her motto is healthy hair first! She is not one of those stylist that will put chemicals in your hair without you understanding what comes with the process. I love how she has taken care of my scalp; which has allowed my hair to grow and it's the healthiest it has ever been. No more shedding! No more flakes! No more dead hair! I have a beautiful full short cut with volume and she's even gotten my thin sides to fill in. I am thankful that Toni always puts her clients first, always reinvesting in her hair studio, takes the time to always educate her clients, and most recently have made major changes to incorporate COVID changes that proves she's not playing any games with our health nor hers!

There are two main components I think are important to emphasize about her work- her makeup skills, and her energy. Regarding makeup - our initial trial was thorough and very detailed. I was adamant that even though I was putting together an Indian wedding with heavy outfits, I wanted all my makeup looks to be as natural and timeless as possible with elements of fun. Maria delivered on all of these requests, which included numerous rounds of trying different eyelash strips/lipstick colors/eyeliner shades and texting inspo pics and was always helpful and patient. I was so bummed I had to wash my face at the end of both days I had my makeup done by her! Regarding energy- Maria brought fun, lighthearted and genuine vibes that my entire family and I appreciated. I had spent a year growing my hair out and specifically asked for soft layers while keeping the length. Instead, there's barely any visible layering or shape at all. Friends and family genuinely keep asking if I even got a haircut. The attached photo is my hair five days later, and this was supposed to be the final result of a layered cut. I've now booked another haircut at a different salon because I still don't have the haircut I originally asked for.
