Brian and chief's catering did an awesome job catering at my office. We had tacos: asada, chicken, soyrizo, beans, rice, salsa, potato cheese taquitos, nacho cheese and chips. On top of that he gave us a complimentary agua fresca! Even more he made us fruit cups with tajin and Chamoy. Presentation was beautiful and we rented warming trays so everything was nice and hot. Had a baby shower this past weekend and we went with Chiefs Catering. We did the taco package which included tacos, quesadillas, mulitas, red and green salsas, rice & beans. I don't know what it is about Chief's tri-tip, but it is seriously so delicious. I ordered tri-tip for about 25 people and a large order of Mac and cheese. Both were a hit at my family party this past weekend. The kids especially loved the mac and cheese. Even as an adult, I've never lost my love for mac and cheese, and this definitely is a great addition to the different variety of mac and cheese that I've tried. My family kept asking me how I made it taste so good, and as much as I wanted to take credit for it, I had to tell them the darn truth! Had Chief's Catering this past weekend for my brothers college graduation party. The food was AMAZING! Everyone raved and raved about how good it was. We had carnitas, chicken & asada with beans & rice plus a salsa bar. They even made bomb quesadillas! They showed up early to get everything prepared and offered to start serving earlier than scheduled since more people had arrived earlier than we had planned. This year we celebrated my husband's retirement and I wanted to have something other than tacos which are the usual. I called Brian and Bianca Ybarra, Chief's catering owners and they were very nice and helpful in choosing the menu and arrival time. It was completely hassle free. Their menu is well rounded for a lack of a better term and priced just right. They arrived promptly, the set up was professional and neat. Their stainless steel chafing dishes added a nice touch to the look since I wanted it to look as nice as possible. They wore masks and gloves. They were polite and friendly. There was plenty of food and of course, they left the left overs. Upon surveying my guest on the food everyone was pleased. Time and time again I heard it was delicious, amazing, tasty, hot (temperature) and just perfect. The temperature of the food given that it's bbq was a big concern, however, Bryant and Bianca ensured it would be warm enough for our guest to enjoy, and it was! We ordered tri tip, ribs, chicken, bacon wrapped asparagus, mashed potatoes and bbq beans, absolutely everything was delicious. No sauce needed. It was tender and moist. Not one piece of meat was raw or chewy let alone dry. Everything was just right!!! Needless to say we will be having them cater our next event. When our baby boy turned 1, we threw him a birthday bash at a kiddie venue and I wanted the food to be unlike the usual served at children's parties. Hubby was skeptical at first, doubting if I could pull it off. My search took me to different caterers and I ended up selecting Chief's Catering. What a great choice! We served beef tri tip, bbq chicken, mashed potatoes, Spanish rice, mac & cheese, veggie lasagna, meat lasagna and lemonade. The food was a big hit among our guests. Many of them kept coming up to my husband to ask where we got the food. One well-wisher even paid us a huge compliment, going so far as saying it was the best food he's eaten at a birthday party. I would really have to thank Brian (the owner) for making us look like real wonderful hosts. His price quotation was within our budget and it included plates, utensils, cups and napkins. The supplies he brought were way more than our head count, which I appreciated a lot because then we had extra plates and forks for the birthday cake. We did not use up everything so that means we have a stash for our next event. It is important to note that the catering price includes service. Brian could have brought in people to serve the food but due to space constraints, I opted to have the food dropped off. Brian lent us warming trays for an additional deposit of $100. It took a while for him to return the deposit, though. I had to wait a week before the amount was credited to my PayPal. Nevertheless, I won't take that against the business. Yesterday we had a party for almost 40 people. My son turned 2 and I sure didn't want to cook for everyone. Brian was very easy to work with I was a bit skeptical cause I'm not use to ordering and leaving the trust in someone whose cooking I have never tried before. Thankfully everything turned out great, we ordered the bbq with sides. The meats: chicken and tri tip was moist through out the party in warming trays...we didn't leave the burners on too long. WARNING: DO NOT USE I had been looking for someone to cater a small pool party but was having trouble finding people who were available. Finally, we contacted Chief's and was told that a delivery can be made and price was negotiated. Shortly after I sent over the deposit through PayPal. Then there was radio silence for two days. I never received confirmation or a breakdown of the price. After repeatedly calling for two days straight I finally receive a call back from Brandon. I even left a written message through yelp and got nothing back. He called back on Friday (only two days before the schedule delivery) to confirm and say sorry cause he was on a "mini vacation". Apparently, he couldn't at least text me that or let me know before hand like most professionals do. The delivery (surprisingly) went smoothly and he picked up the trays two days later. One of my friends had accidentally thrown away one of the rented trays during cleanup and I told Brandon immediately and apologized. I even asked how much would be taken out of the deposit for one tray and was told that everything was ok and nothing would be deducted from the deposit. Brandon told me the deposit would be returned but to allow a week because PayPal returns may take awhile. Fast forward to two weeks later and I have yet to receive my deposit back. I tried calling Brandon's phone numbers and leaving messages but got nothing back. My sister also called and left a more demanding message and instantly within 5 minutes I received my deposit back (I thought it took a week, Brandon?). Up to that point, I was still hoping the whole problem was just a simple human error. I would have forgotten it all if I had received a call back saying "sorry, I forgot". Chief's catering provided tacos for our pool party this past Saturday. They knocked it out of the park, everyone was coming up to me telling me how much they enjoyed their food. We had the chicken tacos which he smoked prior to grilling giving it a really good flavor. The carne asada which was perfectly seasoned and potato and soyrizo tacos for the vegetarians, but everyone ended up eating those as well. He even made us his secret menu item of double decker tacos where he fries cheese on the grill to make it into a crunchy shell then puts that on a soft shell which he layers beans in between, it was delicious.
