I had a very nice young lady helping me, but it went wrong when I went to try on some leggings. Another associate took it upon herself to take over. She told me how brave I was for coming into the store. She shared her experience of losing a lot of weight and showed me her belly, basically trying to make me feel comfortable about my imperfections. A comment or two I could have brushed off, but I felt that the conversation about body size just continued. I had walked in just looking for a good pair of leggings not at all feeling out of place. Just because a woman wears a Large and may not fit the fitness industry's standards of an ideal body does not mean that I am not healthy or active. The associate thought she was being helpful but made it very awkward. Please just stick to answering the questions of your patrons.

The staff was extremely helpful when I was looking for sizing I didn't see on the shelf and offered to order it for me if they didn't have any in the back. They also helped by starting a dressing room for me and taking all the clothes back for me. They were folded so neatly and waiting for me when I was ready to try them on. Absolutely wonderful shopping experience.

Support and shop local! This is the perfect place to find a gift for mom, sister, girlfriend, etc. Meig is very accommodating and will make sure you are taken care of. She will also monogram and do embroidery on almost anything. You can find sustainable products mixed in with the merchandise which is always a plus. It is hard to walk in the store and not come out with some kind of purchase.

I believe the Store Manager is the tall, dark haired women who never kindly greets anyone, smiles or offers any assistance without groaning. She is so rude, I went in asking for a price adjustment ( my first time ever asking) on a sale cashmere scarf I purchased at another Talbots 3 days ago. She told me that her cashmere is not on sale and she will never give a price adjustment. I had the scarf with the tags still on it and it had the sale price handwritten but she refused to correct the issue. So, I returned the scarf to her store at $135, called customer service when I got home and ended up getting the cashmere scarf basically free ($60 w/ free shopping since I am Premier Card Holder)

I had $106 in merchandise credit from a gift I had previously returned. After four store visits, I still had yet to find anything that might fit. So, I inquired about exchanging the merchandise credit for a gift card to give to my sisters - cannot do according to their policy. I asked to transfer the credit - nope! cannot do according to their policy. So I took my sister to the store to pick out clothes to use with my merchandise credit. While shopping we were not acknowledged, not helped, and treated as an inconvenience by one sales associate. They truly made me feel marginalized and inferior. Needless to say, I will NEVER return to Talbots again. While I understand it is a higher end clothing retail store, it's certainly not worth a penny of my hard-earned money. Next time I'll go to Chico's just a few doors down where I'll be greeted with the respect I and all customers deserve!

But we don't like it!! I got out of the dressing room. They asked if anything worked. I said this one dress did, but it wasn't on sale. They confirmed. But then said they had a coupon for 25% off. However, that still made the dress far far outside my budget - I just meant to stick to clearance. The sales person did one of those "oh but it's a good deal" even after I said no. I didn't like it. Sales managers - please know that some people have real life issues for why they can't afford things and your guilt trip doesn't make us feel good. Also? Haha I went straight to Clothes Mentor. I KID YOU NOT the dress I loved? Brand new with the tags on, just a different (less liked) color, and only $23 instead of $90+. Hahahahaha.
