My daughter has gone here for lessons 2 years in a row and the office ladies are nothing but rude. They messed up my account and then were rude to me because they didn't have the information correct. When I asked to speak to a supervisor they told me that I was lying and that I was just making things up. I decided to continue with swim lessons this summer because everywhere else was full and I told them that I would do lessons this summer but not return because of how bad their service was. The first lesson was canceled because of the weather so they gave me a refund for the lesson. I contacted them about the second lesson because the forecast showed rain again. I live in Paradise so I texted them to see if I should head down. They told me that if I didn't want to chance it they would give me another credit. I tried to sign up my daughter for the second session since she missed the first 2 lessons but was unable to because of the time the lesson was at since I work all day. I asked them to just give me a refund for the class since I wasn't able to take anymore classes this year and I wouldn't be returning next year. They said no so I asked to speak to a supervisor. They gave me a refund once so clearly they could do it again. The supervisor called me back and said that they are canceling me as a client because I asked for a refund. So they punished my daughter so she couldn't go to her last session today because I complained about their awful service and asked for a refund for a class they told me not to come to. This place does not value their clients and for the price you pay for swim lessons you would think they would treat you better. I will tell everyone about how unprofessional they are and how awful their service is. They punish kids when their parents complain about their terrible service. Why punish my child because your feelings were hurt because I said you had bad service. Instead of punishing my kid they should take the feedback and do better

Her real life experience as Chico Fire Fighter, school health aid and mother of very competitive athletes made it possible for her to teach us how to handle real life's extraordinary circumstances. I felt like she taught us how to know when and how to help, and how to communicate with injured people and other people who are involved or also trying to help. Recently I came upon a situation. A man was unconscious lying in a pool of water. He'd been assaulted and had hit his head and injured his back and ribs. There was a crowd of people around him, some of whom were trying to move him out of the puddle. I thought everyone knew not to move an injured person unless they were in danger. Anyway, I was so glad to have the knowledge and confidence to know how to help and how to communicate and work with other people who were trying to help. I asked if anyone else had CPR or first aid training. I was surprised that no one said yes. I asked someone to call 911 (which thankfully had already been done). I was then able to clear a few people away, assess the situation and do what I could for the man until the EMT's arrived. I was glad that I knew what to say to him when he came to, and how to encourage him to stay still and reassure him that help was coming. I hardly did anything, but I was able to stay calm and help keep others calm. I'm certain if I hadn't had Mary's class I would have just been a by-stander wishing I could find away to help the man. After the event had passed I remembered that Mary had given us her number and said that we could call her anytime. I was so glad to be able to call her the next day and just talk about what had happened. It's nice that BEST CPR training doesn't just end when you get your certificate. I fully recommend this company. Everyone should have BEST CPR training!

The certification is of course required and Mary made sure it was not a barrier to caring for children in our community. Her experience made the course come alive and even though we have been certified many times, her real life examples helped these lessons feel far more relevant. I highly recommend Mary's courses!

I originally called this place because I heard they take Medi-Cal Health and Wellness. I called and…read moreI explained that my son's primary insurance does not cover speech(I had previously used full circle and that is when I became aware of my insurance not covering speech...I paid full circle what they owed as they billed correctly) I heard that they took Medi-Cal Health and Wellness, I was told yes buy only a certain one, they would check his to see...they did and it was the one they took. I was told they would need a referral from my pediatrician, I called my pedtrician and they 1st sent me a referral to full circle, I called them and told them I needed it for Chico speech and Language because as I had told the Dr. my primary does not cover speech for Autism. When I sent my insurance cards over I reminded them again that my son's primary insurance does not cover speech. We had his evaluation September 2019 and started speech weekly October 2019-mid January 2020. Sarah was the person who actually did the speech and she was great with my son. Mid January I was told that they will not see him till they start getting payments. Monica informed me that they never got a authorization from Medi-cal which they needed to be able to bill the services. I was also informed on a later date that they now have authorization but starting in December, so they were going to change the dates of service so they could get paid. I called medi-Cal in June when I was sent a bill for all the services, I was informed that the dates on the primary EOB (which was a denial but had to be billed in order to bill 2ndry) do not match the dates being billed to them. I wrote a letter and left a voice mail telling Chico speech if they were going to change the dates of service they would have to re bill the primary so the dates would match (which is illegal to change dates of service)They did this, and are now billing me again, and trying to get me to pay because they are a small bushiness and "its the right thing to do". I called Paula the owner who left that message on my phone, I did yell at her when she tried to cut me off, when I wasn't done speaking. I told her how I choose them specifically because they took medi-cal and how I informed them my primary wouldn't cover services twice, she told me "No, we would have seen you if that was the case" I called Medi-Cal again in hopes that maybe I could just send the primary EOBs for them and get them paid, but when I called it was discovered that the billed amounts also don't match the primary EOB( everything has to perfectly matched in order for the claim to be processed and paid). I would gladly pay the bill if the insurance had been billed correctly and they would do their job correctly in regards to billing. It isn't the right thing to do, to pay a bill that isn't my responsibility....in fact doing the right thing is them actually taking the time to bill it correctly or see exactly where the error is. FYI, I did hospital billing for 8 years before I decided to stay at home with my son, so I know a thing or two about billing and what needs to be done and what is legal and illegal. My suggestion to Paula is to have Monica trained better, or fire her and get someone who is trained better (the 1st option I feel would be the best)

The speech pathologist came to our house and now my son sees her in her office. She is great and sees him in the summer when he has no speech during the summer at school. The receptionist is great as well. Would recommend this place to anyone. The only not ok thing is they don't take medi- cal anyone so my insurance/cash pay covers it now. They stopped about a year ago taking medi-cal.

I'm generally pretty anxious, and this is one place I feel comfortable leaving my son. They offer really great quality learning, play, and engagement. We get homework every week, constant updates about intellectual development, and great redirection. The teachers are just so thoughtful and caring. They are incredibly focused on safety, well being and development. Like all hands on deck everyone helps correct behaviors with love and empathy. My son was having a rough time, as three years old tend to do, and they sat with me to come up with a plan for behavioral issues and partnered with me in a really kind and empathetic way. There was no judgement, just a desire to do what was best for everyone. I implicitly trust the staff there and wholeheartedly recommend them for all childcare needs. They are quite literally the best.

We have been so lucky to have found Parkside. The staff really get to know your kid. Not just…read morepersonality wise but health wise. They can tell when things are a little off and have caught sickness even before I noticed. They know children! Mr. Daniel in the preschool class is amazing. When my daughter did the standard kinder public school entrance evaluation the teacher told me to tell Parkside thank you. She basically did her first year of kindergarten in Mr. Daniel's class. Having used Parkside from toddler to Preschool I can say all the teachers and staff are amazing and really love your child. Highly recommend!
