I had a lot of anxiety coming back to school. I learn different than the average student and choose to be in environments now that nurture my spirit. I went to samplers, read reviews and decided to give it a try. I could have gone to any campus. Redding felt right but I visited Emeryville to be sure. Emeryville felt cold and impersonal, so I ultimately decided to come to Redding with nothing but a feeling. Redding is very different. It's a much better fit for my personality. Same curriculum, intensely knowledgeable teachers, less people and more personalized. Classes are small and become like family within weeks. Our teachers know all of us and hold space for our goals inside and outside of school. I often laugh, because you can't fit even one of my classmates and I into a box. We're all different, empaths and healers with specific gifts. The journey into recognizing a calling, stepping away from other career paths and taking the dive here takes a lot of trust. The program is not easy but it's so worthwhile. My teacher has spent hours with me, learning how I learn and teaching me in ways that I understand. It's been incredible to not only have my learning style acknowledged, but to be celebrated for the gifts I have and the way I retain knowledge when taught the way I learn. I looked at the different campus's reviews when I chose NHI, trying to find which campus would be the best fit. I told myself when I was in school, I'd write a review specific to our campus and after meeting many other students from other campuses (through online learning) I can tell you that Redding is special. It's a haven for empaths, intuitives, energy workers and anyone who feels like they don't quite fit other places. There are teachers here who will help you see your gifts and celebrate the brilliance of you. It's a gentle place to learn a lot of new things that will support the beginning of an amazing career. Choosing to go to this school instead of Thailand because my medical dependency on marijuana. First I had a neck problem and I'm the taller person in the class, my room was upstairs where there was about 4 foot high ceilings so I had to get dressed sitting down because I physically could not stand in my room. The room had a small deck with a chair. I assumed it would be ok to use this deck to take my medication on, I was very wrong. I am dyslexic and the handbook was a little confusing mostly because of the invented vocabulary PPI, PPM, or whatever palm pressure............I and another gal with the same disability felt like we were second class citizens. The morning stretches in the blinding hot sun, no thanks. Must always keep your head lower than a statue in the living room. This statue is about waist high. No sitting comfortably on the ground with your legs cross cross, you must sit on your bent legs crimping your knees in pain. If you pay to sleep outside and there's a storm your expected to stay outside. Me and the other girls lied to the teacher about letting another student sleep on the living room floor. During same storm a gal who did not pay for the herbal classes was asked to leave the property for the two days. She was from out of the country and had to ask to borrow another students car. She had nowhere to go and almost got in a car accident because the storm was so awful. Two days before the class was over the teacher asked to talk to me outside with a time of an angry mother. She had gone in my room and seen my medication. I was asked not to smoke in the home, of course I agree. I was asked to smoke off the property, I reluctantly agree. Then I'm told I can't smoke during class. A class the is all day long!!!!!!!! I use my medication to manage my stomach, I cannot function without it. I got up from out talk a little enraged and aggressively packed my car. The teacher followed me almost the entire time. It almost felt like I wasn't allowed to leave. I accidentally swiped a book of the schools when I left and felt bad about how I departed. I bought another book "the prophet" and purchased some tea and insence as a gift and sent it to the school with zero response from Janice, the teacher. I would like my credit hours registered with the state, that never happened nor was I never given a refund. I feel like I was discriminated against for being stupid and having a hiatle hernia. I've spoken with numerous students from this school. A lot of people like this class, a few people feel exactly the same as I.

Her massage was truly something special. I've had Thai massages in Thailand and receive massages regularly, but this was on a different level than what I have experienced. The day I got my massage, I woke up in a lot of pain, to the point that I took an Epsom salt bath early in the morning and applied at least 4 Salonpas patches on my most painful muscles. The massage I got relieved all of the pain I was feeling, and totally changed my energy. I don't know another way to say it except that. My body kept tingling during the massage. Not only were professional driving schools not required back in the 80's and early 90's, but a few laws have changed since then and it's a good idea to freshen up your knowledge of the California road rules, regulations and safety etc. Lessons are expensive no matter what, and they're all about the same price. Coastline tends to be available within a few days, so if you're looking to book a lesson ASAP, they're the ones to call.
