I hired this company to help me buy my first home- yay! This review is a bit old- I moved around 2 years ago... I was moving from Keller to Houston. I do not know if they only work in Austin now? Can't believe no reviews are up- but I'm guessing it's because you had to start the company profile. So... I bit the bullet ;)
They were referred to me by my cousin who lives in Houston. I am young and was on a more than tight budget and didn't even think buying a house was something I could afford. I originally wanted a nice apartment and asked for Kristen to show me apartments (she is an agent). However, after speaking with her, she showed me that I could get a home in my price range, and they could fix it up, decorate it, and do the construction part of it. If any one watches HGTV- it's exactly like Property Brothers! But, before the show and, um, on a much , much, much lower scale/budget. Haha. At least in my case.
They showed me a ton of homes- and I got a great deal on a fixer upper inside the loop off beltway 8 that was an estate sale. Great bones, 1800 sq ft, and just needed a 'face lift.' They made sure I got a bunch of little things that I never even thought of- like a foundation inspection (which saved me 5K in repairs), etc... All said and done- I bought my house for 22,000 below tax value and it has a lifetime warranty on the foundation and no major problems. And, it's $50,000 below my price range. I could sell it now for a major profit.
Then the fun began. The home was a 1960's ranch home and they came in and completely modernized it to my liking. I'm not very good at things like this so I'm not gonna lie- I gave them full reign. But, my budget was on the lower side for all repairs and furnishings- for everything. It was an all inclusive deal- I needed a decorated home with: art, furnishings, and knick knacks. Window coverings and curtains, and this included the labor and materials and building part. Which entailed: knocking out a HUGE, load bearing wall at least 12 feet in length and 9 ft tall and making it so it can stay open, repainting entire living area, taking down all 1960's paneling, removing all tile on floors and replacing with wood laminate, refinishing entire kitchen cabinetry, installing all new hardware throughout my entire house, texturing and painting my entire fireplace, mantel, moldings, trim, kitchen, etc. I can't remember everything else off the top of my head but it was more than what I'm even writing now. I'm pretty sure they were doing me a favor with their pricing, but I didn't say anything ;)
Overall, they were very nice to work with, completed everything in a ridiculously short amount of time, and cleaned up better than I do myself after they finished. I would use them again for any other projects in my home. I haven't had any problems with any of the work and everyone who comes in complements my warm, cozy house. read more
