Red Velvet Cake Slice
Kyle B.

The Red Velvet Cake is pretty darn tasty - it has the perfect balance of cocoa and vanilla and the color is spot on. Could be just a tad more moist. The cream cheese icing is sweet but not sickly; however, it lacks the tangy, rich decadence of cream cheese and is more akin to buttercream. Still a solid slice of Red Velvet Cake.

I was pleasantly surprised. I had not had chicken salad chick in years so this kind of felt like trying it again for the first time. And I loved it, the meal I ordered was a jalapeño holly chicken salad sandwich with wheat bread toasted and a chicken tortilla soup. They were both great, especially for the price. The jalapeno holly isn't too spicy, it has the perfect kick to it if you're looking for a hint of spice. The service was also great, they were helpful throughout service. The ambiance was nice, quiet and cozy which was nice. Oh! Almost forget, the small cookie was delicious!! Perfect end to the meal.

The watermelon tea here slaps! A must get! Lots of different flavors of chicken salad, but I go for the lemon basil or the cranberry. Decor is very 50's meets 60's with lime green walls with red daisies. Service is very prompt here, perfect for your lunch break!

10 out of 10 lunch in my book! This is a chicken salad lover's dream! So many different types of chicken salad! AHHHH it's overwhelmingly delicious. I act like a dog with the zoomies once I step foot inside! I personally enjoy Lauryn's Lemon Basil and Barbie-Q on a croissant with a side of macaroni and cheese. This meal comes with a complementary pickle and cookie. You can not go wrong with Chicken Salad Chick and that's on my life! I am a ride or die fan of this business and will ride until I can't ride any longer.

BLT Sandwich with Jalapeño Holly Chicken Salad Scoop

Today, I decided to go a little different for Lunch. I tried out @chickensaladchick in Tampa. Thier sandwiches and soups are really good. What I had: Chicken Salad BLT Your choice of any chicken salad with crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, and sliced tomato. Side order of Jalapeño Holly Chicken Salad Scoop. Definitely recommend this place.

Kay-Anne and lemon basil scoop with broccoli slaw: AMAZING!

Wow!!! This place rocks! Chicken Salad Chick is finally on Kennedy and doing great. Parking situation is a little tricky but there are more spots in the back of the building. Out of the 12 different kinds of chicken salads they offer, my favorites are Sassy Scotty (cheddar, ranch and bacon), Jalapeño Holly (spicy), Lemon basil and Kay-Annes. Btw, all the names of the chicken salads are named after the founders family and friends. Such a sweet way to remember the ones closest to her. Only criticism, i wish they had healthier sides. Broccoli salad with cheese and bacon is yummy but very sweet. Other than that, I am a fan. Also, the cashiers and staff are super sweet.

Lauren's Lemon Basil sandwich with Fruity Fran Chicken Salad scoop

The food was too good here and I understand what my classmates love it! My first time here, came with a friend and he also enjoyed it! It's really healthy if you want to make you meal healthy without bread etc. I had the Lauren basil salad sandwich with a scoop of fruity Fran chicken salad. It comes with pickle and a cookie. It was super good. I highly recommend this place and will definitely return here soon!

Chicken salad sandwich on toasted wheat with a side of fruit, a pickle, and a free mini cookie

I had no idea that a place that almost solely focuses on chicken salad could be successful, but here we are. This location just opened up near work, and it was all anyone could talk about. So I decided to give it a try a mere two days after they opened. I thought they might be busy, but I guess I caught them at the right time (about an hour before close) because I had no wait. They had far more flavored chicken salad options than I had ever thought possible, but thankfully they'll let you try whatever you like. I thought I'd get just the "Classic Carol" (the original recipe), but upon trying the Lauryn's Lemon Basil, I decided I liked it better since it has a bright, citrus-y flavor that isn't overwhelming. I ordered it as a sandwich (if you order white or wheat, they can toast it, but they cannot toast croissants), and opted for the wheat bread. For my side, I chose the fresh fruit. I only had to wait a few minutes before my food was brought to my table. Even though I'd asked for the bread to be toasted, and it certainly LOOKED toasted, it didn't taste like it had been, so that was a little bit of a letdown. But overall I was surprised by how much I liked the sandwich. I tend to get tired of chicken salad sandwiches halfway through, but I actually ate the whole sandwich, which is rare for me. The plate comes with a dill pickle (yum) and a small iced cookie, which is a nice touch. But the one thing that really did disappoint me was the fruit. Like I said, they'd only been open for two days, yet my fruit -- especially the strawberries -- tasted old. I ended not eating most of them because they were soggy and bruised. The interior of this place is beautiful and charming in an Old South sort of way. The staff are still obviously quite new, but they are all very polite and happy to answer any questions. I can see how this will easily slide into the lunch rotation at work!

Lauren's Lemon Basil

One of my favorite places to grab a quick lunch! The variety of chicken salad flavors is impressive and it's always made fresh daily. My go to is Lauren's Lemon-Basil on a croissant and the spicy pimento cheese dip is a must try!

Fancy Nancy Chicken Salad with a side of grape salad.

I have had the pleasure of dining at Chicken Salad Chick on two separate occasions and look forward to dining here more! My son and I attended the grand opening celebration at Chicken Salad Chick on West Kennedy Boulevard. The staff was so welcoming and helpful during our visit! My toddler and I made lunch plans with fellow Yelper, Anna, so we arrived early before the crowd arrived. We bumped into other Yelpers, Tina, Nick, and their precious daughter. I tried the Fancy Nancy Chicken Salad with fuji apples, grapes and pecans. The chicken salad wasn't too sweet and the apples and nuts gave the salad a nice crunch. There was the option to order the salad on bread or over salad greens. I skipped the croissant, but it looked really good for a cheat day! The salad came with choice of a side dish and crackers, a pickle and a cookie. I got the grape salad on my first visit, but it was a little to sweet so I ordered the broccoli salad on my second visit. I loved the chicken salad and my son was a big fan too! There are about a dozen chicken salad options so I will be returning to try the rest of the menu. If you're watching your diet all of the calories are listed on the menu. This is a great addition to South Tampa and I am glad to have another kid friendly spot to dine at.

I have to admit, I was totally skeptical about trying this place out. Knowing they have ton of locations around the Tampa area didn't even phase me. The hubs had been telling me to go to one for years! I finally took the jump, and my manager and I ran in on a lunch break to check out the fuss. Wow! Upon entering we were over whelmed by the choices of chicken salad! Who knew there were so many versions!? Not knowing which one I wanted, the cashier gave me a sample of them to figure out what suited my tastebuds! I ended up with the Dixie Chick! The salad alone is enough to fill you up, but you have options! They have soup, you can make it a sandwich and they also have different sides to accompany your food. I have to say, I was impressed. The smiles, the samples, the southern charm just emitted from this place. I will definitely be back for more!

The BBQ chicken is super flavorful, the katsu is crispy and cooked right, and the poke is fresh and easy to customize. The spam musubi is a must too, simple but really well done. And their boba drinks are always on point with adjustable sugar and ice levels that accommodate to your needs. What I also love coming back for is the service. Everyone there is genuinely kind and welcoming. You can tell they actually care about their customers, and it makes a big difference. Anytime anybody else or I had a request, they would always politely respond. This is one of those spots that's reliable all around and conveniently located next to Macdill AFB. Definitely recommend!

Pro tip: if you want to try a little bit of everything, get the 3 musubi combo. You get katsu, regular, and Hawaiian BBQ chicken which is a perfect variety without committing to full plates. The macaroni salad was good, but I wish it had a bit more texture (maybe some celery for crunch?). It was also a little heavy on the mayo for my taste. Portions are HUGE. One entrée could easily feed two people. Each plate comes with two big scoops of rice, so come hungry or be ready for leftovers. Prices are very reasonable, especially for how much food you get. The staff were super friendly, and the decor is cute. Just a heads up, seating is limited inside (a couple tables for 4 and a couple for 2). There's outdoor seating too, but it's not always shaded depending on the time of day. The chicken katsu was my favorite. It was super juicy with a crispy breading, and the soy flavors really came through. Overall, I'd definitely come back!

We tried this place about a year ago, and we had a completely different experience than before. I can honestly say, I won't be back. Not ever. Not even a chance. This place is filthy. The floors, the tables, the bathrooms (the worst I have ever seen), and even the napkin holders. I had immediate regrets upon stepping in based on the lack of cleanliness. The amount of flies swarming was alarming. The service was a zero. The girl working watched us order at the kiosk, the kiosk wouldn't let us pay, we tell her, and she says "oh it doesn't work." So we ordered with her even though she sat around watching us waste our time. I ordered a wing meal, told her I wanted the wings injected, and she said "we don't inject them. I will give you sauce on the side." The menu clearly says they inject wings, social media videos always show it, and also, my last visit there was also injected wings but she would give me no explanation other than "I will give you the sauce on the side." It was bizarre and I couldn't even get a "we don't do that anymore" from her. We ordered a chicken sando. The quality was horrible. Chicken tasted overly processed with bad texture. We also ordered a wing combo. The wings were flavorless. Absolutely flavorless. I ordered medium and there was zero spice. Not even a tad. Apparently they don't inject their wings anymore so there was no flavor in the wings. The quality was pretty bad. Also, the "sauce on the side" that the girl working promised me was not the sauce I ordered, it was the sauce she chose. The whole ordering experience was odd. Definitely seemed like someone who did not care about providing good service, good food, or a sanitary environment. We waited about 25 minutes for our food. About 3 people came in to get pickup orders while we waited and no one else. So we sat and waited while the flys swarmed our heads. The cashier never once tried to come out and clean the filthy tables. She even paused doing nothing for a restroom break, used the filthy restroom, came out with WET hands, and grabbed a napkin from the dusty napkin holder on the filthy table to dry her hands. Then still never wiped down the table caked with food debris. Absolute terrible level of cleanliness, care, and service. It ruined my appetite. After waiting that long, the Mac n cheese was ice cold. 25 minutes for Mac n cheese with a chill to it and no heat. I'm convinced they pulled it out of the refrigerator and forgot to heat it up. This place just had too many misses: a lack of quality, a lack of good service, and a lack of any sanitation standards. Never again. We didn't finish our food. We threw it away outside.

The restaurant was clean, bright, and had ample seating and parking. I loved everything that I tried. All the food is prepared fresh, so everything came out piping hot. The firecracker chicken bowl was my favorite. I got it medium spice. It was absolutely delicious. It was hot, crispy, spicy, and a touch of sweet. The fried rice was super flavorful, and this is something I typically miss at typical Chinese food restaurants as I cannot eat pork. Of course, no pork in this fried rice. My partner got the sesame chicken, and I presume it was amazing because he wolfed it down so fast, I didn't have to even sneak a bite. The Japanese fried chicken was a 10 out of 10! It was lightly breaded, flavorful, and crispy. This place is a gem. I seriously recommend it and may even go back today. When we were eating, someone came in and ordered a mango matcha. It looked so good that I have to go back to try it.
