A Chinese restaurant locally owned by a couple for decades! Great customer service, and respect for the cuisine. From the sound of it, it sounds like the only workers here are the owners and it shows they put time into their craft. They currently aren't open for dine-in so if you'd like to try their food you must order to-go. The food is a bit more on the expensive size compared to other restaurants, but we do have leftover big enough for another lunch! We loved the crab rangoons and it had a nice crunch to it as well as ample filling. Sweet n Sour is the same flavor you'd find anywhere else. The Egg Drop soup was nice and hot, and even had some bits of chicken in it which is surprising considering it's only $3 for a cup. I tried the Hunan Shrimp and it came with white rice. Very filling, with a traditional recipe. Shrimp are small but very juicy, and plenty of vegetables to fill you up on! My fiancée tried the General Tso Chicken and said it was delicious and tender. The chicken is chewy, which is different from the typical crispiness you'd find at Panda Express or some other franchise, so it depends on your preference on how you get orange chicken! She was completely stuffed and made a comment on how she thinks she has enough for lunch AND dinner tomorrow. Overall if I'm spending a few more bucks to get Togo food here over Panda Express and it's going to be more food AND going to a local family business, I feel it's worth that premium. Complete roll of the dice if they're going to be open or not. Called the day before to ask if they would be open for lunch. At noon the next day, they were closed and phone went to voicemail. Had the same experience last time I was in GR. The owners evidently don't care about attracting customers. I used to love this place and have been a loyal customer for years. The food has gone down hill and the prices WAY up. $13 for a quart of combination Chop Suey which has barely any sauce and a couple of tiny pieces of each meat. This place has been here for as long as I can remember. I've driven by it a million times and always meant to try it, but for some reason never had. When driving by the outside reminds me of the restraunt in the movie, "A Christmas Story". There were no cars in the lot, so we figured what the heck, there was nothing listed on yelp, so we decided to add it. We were in no rush and figured we should get good service being the only ones here. What a delightful surprise. The inside was really clean, and the waitress very friendly, and checked on us often. We were having too much fun taking pics of the stereotypical Chineese decor, as seen from the outside sign, to the interior Buddha, and arched red take out window. In a matter of minutes several tables had filled up. I guess it only takes one car in the lot to draw a crowd. I had ordered the crab rangoon, egg drop soup, and per the waitress I should try the hunan chicken. My friend had an egg roll, wonton soup, and garlic chicken. Everything came out hot, and tasted quite good. Even though there were a few tables, the waitress was also prepping the food, which she never missed a beat. Refills on drinks, asked for soy sauce, ( was surprised none were on any of the tables) and bringing of the check was all done expeditiously, and everyone in the room looked as though they were also getting her attention as well. We sat and lingered a bit, and watched with awe the little waitress that could do everything and did so with speed and a smile. The food was really good in quality, much to my hesitation. I have been eating here for 25+ years, and it always used to be good... my last visit, not so much. The fried rice was always fantastic, but this chicken fried rice was bland, the rice was mushy and there was barely any chicken in it. Chicken with broccoli was BLAND, washed out looking, sauce was water and there were 3 small pcs of chicken in it. I guess they are cutting back on expenses. Steamed dumplings were nothing special at all. At least the egg rolls are still good. If you're dining in, DON'T... floors are dirty, no AC on so it's hot and gross inside the dining area. I really don't leave reviews but this was unacceptable! Firstly, why does fried rice cost $4 extra than the white rice? (small portions) There was more breading than chicken, which blew my mind considering the amount of money I paid. Also, I noticed that the cup was dirty at the bottom & the water had particles floating which was disgusting! (I didn't notice until I had a few sips) The silverware was also dirty, I honestly don't know how I even built the courage to eat there after seeing all this unfold. read more

The only two times I've been here, has been in the winter time the week of Christmas. The place inside is a little cold but the waitress and I assume owner brings a space heater to put next to you. A friend of mine used to go here when she was the middle school back in the 90s. She took me here last year at Christmas time for the first time and then again this year at Christmas we came back. The food is really good. The sweet and sour chicken was nice. The rice is really good and they use sticky rice! The moo goo gai pan is good. This is the third time that I have been here. It is a very good restaurant. My sister-in-law and her husband have been coming here for years and have become very friendly with the owners. Very personable people who will remember you when you return. Excellent food and not ridiculously huge portions. My brother-in-law is one of the pickiest diners I know, and he loves this place. Absolutely the best eggrolls anywhere. In fact, for alight supper, I may come back just to get a couple of eggrolls. The Beef and Pea Pods had a lot more veggies than just pea pods. It also had bok choy, celery, mushrooms, bamboo sticks, and water chestnuts. The waitress/owner let me know this when I ordered it, so it was not a surprise. But it was a welcome one anyway. It was delicious and was not swimming in sauce. It was not that candy-sweet stuff that is so popular these days. I loved it! For me, the only black marks (besides the usual-don't use the bathroom in a Chinese restaurant!) would be that their air conditioner either does not work, or they like it on a warm setting. Both this time, and the last time was here about two years ago, it was very hot inside, even on a cool day. They have a couple of fans set up, but they really should cool the place down. This restaurant has horrible customer service. It is near my mom's so I decided to try them. My rice and eggroll were disgusting. I literally took on bite. I immediately called back. I was told that they could give me my money back minus $9.95 for their time!!!! I said what, maybe he thinks I'm another order. I drive back. They begin to tell me that they have been here for years and everyone likes their food. NOT ME! I called the police, because I just could not let them take my money. They didn't even offer a credit. I have ate here three times now. The very first time I was treated to a very good chicken fried rice, so every visit I got the same thing. Horrible.. We ordered Sweet and Sour Chicken and General Tao Chicken.. The Chicken pieces were so small and so much bread I couldn't even tell if it was Chicken. The sauce was so thick I could have cut into it. Egg roll.. Does it have veggies in it or is it just cabbage. I could have swore it said Chicken Egg roll. Yuck! Dined in during a weekday lunch hour. Dirtier inside than the sketchy looking outside. Waitress/cook/owner (?) seemed annoyed when I wanted a lunch portion and talked us out of sharing/splitting a soup. Ordered two "medium" bowls of soup, which were the equivalent of what many chinese lunches include with their meal or even smaller. Tasteless and $5.72 each bowl! Meals were much smaller portions than most Chinese lunch portions and tasteless. I very rarely write reviews and, having spent some time working in the restaurant industry, I am usually pretty forgiving!
