Giving one star because I have no other choice.... we ordered an order of fried pickles, (see attached photo) I wouldn't call what we were given an order of anything. Not to mention they were cold even though we waited around 10 minutes for them. When I called to let the manager know what we received she said, an order is only 8 pickles... she didn't care and she was extremely rude. Tiny little tenders and they weren't fresh. I remember when they used to be big and juicy. Very disappointed in the tenders. Mashed potatoes and gravy weee good, but it's hard to do screw those up. Staff was very nice though. read more

The service here is absolutely horrible. They make their problems everyone else's. The food definitely isn't good enough to have the worst attitude ever on top of it. Placed an order thru door dash, when delivered some of the food was missing, hush puppies were not hush puppies they were corn fritters. I called and spoke with manager, she said their hush puppies come with corn. I've ordered hush puppies many times, they've never had corn in them! She was extremely rude speaking to me. I love Chicken Express but not the Sulphur Springs location anymore. I have went there 3 times this week while I am in town for lunch each time at noon. The chicken has been setting up in the heat light area way to long. The meat was actually dry and dark brown like beef jerky. Such a let down. This has always been my favorite fast food but not anymore. . The pieces were very small compared to what it usually are. I will be trying the Greenville restraint to see if there quality is still where it use to be. I sure hope so. read more

I was in SS today and needed to pickup some chicken for dinner, I looked on my map app & found chicken express. I read the reviews, which were not very good, so I was reluctant, I didn't want to go to Commerce where I usually buy food, today it was out of my way. So I thought ok. I'll go inside, I'll make sure the food is fresh and hot, well indoor dining was closed due to staff shortage, so ok go to drive thru, not happy about that. Placed my order, the young woman was having trouble getting my order straight, but she finally got it. I get up to window, she tried to give me someone else's food, then called out another persons dinner, nope not mine, repeated my order, oh ok she was having to wait for them to prepare the chicken livers, when I got our 2 dinners, I opened both and guess what, everything was correct, fresh piping hot! We enjoyed a great dinner. The girl at the window was probably new, everyone will be new at something and need a break, I want to thank the employees today for all there hard work in these conditions. I just want people who read Yelp reviews to know that a bad review does not always reflect every day every time! I was very surprised today! Employees at the drive thru are always rude, never smiling or interacting with customers. I get that you might not love your job but you can at least pretend because when you're not greeting customers with a smile it's makes us not want to come back. read more

This place used to be good, but since new owners (what I heard) the service is terrible and the food is worse. I sat in the drive thru line for about 30 minutes waiting on my food, then when I got my food they had forgotten some of our order. I drove back around and they said I had to go inside and talk to the manager. I parked and went in with my bag of food and receipt. I stood at the counter for several minutes while the workers just looked at me. Finally someone came over and I explained what I needed. They got the managers attention, which to my surprise was one of the workers that just looked at me. She came over and I explained to her that they forgot part of my order. She very rudely went through everything in the bag and checked my receipt, then decided I was correct and gave me the missing items. She had an awful attitude. I will never go back there. read more

Dined there this evening. Although the food was good, as was the iced tea, the service had me walking out the door. Husband and I came in for dinner and approached the counter. Multiple staff were busy working the drive through orders. Not one person acknowledged us. After a few minutes, still nothing. I started to walk out the door, when husband loudly cleared his throat to get their attention. Here's the thing, we were seen by one or two staff members, but they didn't say a word to us. Finally, after a kitchen employee looked up and asked us if we had been served yet, we said no, he indicated the woman that was supposed to be working the register. Not an "I'm sorry", or "Welcome to Chicken Express" or anything. Just cut to taking the order. I won't be going back. They made it clear we were not welcome there.
