Typically I wouldn't yelp as fast food joint, I mean come on it's a fast food joint, we all know what they're about. However, I am gonna yelp this Chicken Express in Huntsville. A couple of weeks ago my husband decided that he really wanted some fried chicken, we used to go to Popeyes but the service and quality of food sucks here in Huntsville. A coworker had told us that this Chicken Express was good, we didn't really believe it because we had gone to a different location multiple times and it was a bust. Man, we should have listened sooner, the employees that work here provide outstanding customer service. And the food is effing bomb. So Chicken Express I had to do it, I had to yelp a fast food joint. read more

Chicken Express - Spicy tenders, fried pickles, roll, gravy, fries and dos chicken breast - Chicken Wings Near Me - Huntsville, Texas

Great food, cool atmosphere. Service has been good. Love the catfish and fried chicken .

Freshness has been a struggle for them lately. Even during the lunch rush, the chicken isn't the freshest. The tea is usually fresh and good. The rolls are usually good. They often have shit on the tv that no one wants to watch or shit you don't want your kids to watch. read more

Customer service is the worst. While taking order she wasn't listening. Interrupting and got the entire order wrong. Do better

Pretty good food, freshness is a hit or miss but it's worth trying. The rolls are so good.

Spicy tenders were fireeeeeeee , came with biscuit or roll. Ate roll too fast 4 pic but it was fireeeee. Everything was made fresh. Burnt my tongue on the green beans. Okra was fireeeeee. Omg. A chicken just did this on my screen: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX It was a Chicken X Press. This was quite an interesting experience indeed. We had just escaped from the hurricane in Houston even though all the highways had been closed. I'm not quite sure how we got out of there but that's sort of typical of me to be honest. On the way up to Dallas there really wasn't a lot of good food available so we tried a little something in Conroe and then this is the little something that we tried in Huntsville. It's a regional chain with chicken and sides and drinks and service is nice and prices are okay but several products are particularly bland and unmemorable and not something you would ever go out of your way to eat I don't think. Nevertheless I support Regional chains more than National chains so three stars was going to be fine. However, the reason I give them four stars is because some of the items were actually memorable, so it all depends what you order - and the prices were good too. Certainly I was glad the existed. It's hilarious watching the redneck crowd come and go. I've noticed rednecks have particularly cute girlfriends. It's kind of funny. read more

They have great fried fish!! I eat it all the time! Price not bad! The chicken strips are always good as well!! Will see them on Friday!!

Don't eat here, this location is nasty, even the restroom handdrayer has mold in it. And if that's in public's eye I'm afraid what's in the kitchen. read more

The manager at the Huntsville location is rude. This location changes almost $3 more for the same meal I get at the Conroe location. When I explained my pricing concern to the manager, his reply was: So you want it or not? NOT! I choose to eat elsewhere and you should too read more

Drive through was quick. My first time trying the spicy tenders and I definitely like them a lot more than the regular flavor. We ordered 7 tenders but there was definitely way more than 7! Make sure you get the corn nuggets too! read more

Family favorite! My boys all love their chicken and the rolls are to die for!! Think old school cafeteria rolls!! Don't forget the butter.

The chicken tenders and biscuits are delicious. On a recent take out visit the mashed potatoes were more like potato soup. I called to tell management there was a problem. But just as on previous occasions no one answers their phone. I had just left the place so I knew people were there. I left a message and surprise surprise no one ever called me back. As I said tenders and biscuits were good but management obviously doesn't care about the customer. read more

Horrible service. They charge for water by charging you for an ice cup. They charge you 7% to park with a credit card. Manager, Derek Dennis, agreed with me that what they were doing was illegal and still refused to give me my money back. Won't be back here. read more

I eat at a lot of these Chicken Express Restaurants because I love chicken and I love their tea. This location is very unusual in that they don't seem to like me," I'm Old". They often have attitude and cannot remember anything I say. I must say that they are really challenged with speaking clearly as well and if you are in the drive thru you might as well forget it. I have given up on buying meals to just buying a large ice tea. That in itself seems to be a challenge. While the other Chicken Express locations offer Senior Citizen Discounts and alse Happy Hour ICE Tea they don't offer it here. It was hit and miss and now it is not at all because it seems to be too taxing on whomever is waiting on you. So no Senior discounts for tea and no happy hour!!!! My thoughts are what else are they not doing in regards to following the Franchise Rules. Or do they just "wing" it every day however they feel. read more

The boneless chicken wings are really just what they sell at other restaurants as chicken nuggets. Really expensive and not much chicken. Every thing else is great. Peeps are friendly and service is great. Iced tea is pricey compared to other locations. read more

Ordered through the drive-thru & had no problems, chicken strips and mashed potatoes were on point tonight! Wasn't disappointed.

Rolls are why we go there, chicken strips are good too. Consumer service on the other hand is none existent. Last time I got biscuits instead of the rolls I ordered . They " forgot" my daughters side when she stopped there. The only complaints have today is their costumer service, which is simply not existent. Maybe management could retrain their employees? I'm not asking for much but a simple thank you or hello would be great. read more

Asked for 2 large family mashed potatoes and we got more gravy than anything else like can i not get what i was asking for also why isnt there an option for spicy tenders what am i going to do with all the things that i didnt need like this gravy read more

Watch out for amber and the manager because they'll spit in your food then laugh around the corner while you open it. Lesson learned do not eat here read more

Hubby fell in love with this place a few years ago while we were visiting the Dallas area. There are none in Houston, but a few in surrounding areas. We normally go to the Magnolia location once a year so he can get his CE fix. Today we decided to go to Huntsville. This is by far the best location we have been to yet. There is about a 10 minute wait after you order, but so worth it. The food was hot, fresh, tasty and not greasy. We will be back! read more

Awful service, the chicken is very small and the counter help is not too bright, at least when I was there, of course my last time there too. read more

I went with my fiancé and his dad, we all got sick it wasn't good at all, there was hair in my food I mean the good thing is that they gave me a refund, The food is super greasy as well, I had surgery too but my fiancé and his dad didn't so my stomach already kinda hurt but I can say I'm probably not coming back here read more

Never going back again. Pulled up at 9:30, they close at 10, and they shut the lights off for the drive thru while I was sitting there. So I pull around to the drive thru window and I see them with a table full of chicken and sides. They ignore me for 8 mins. Finally I ask if I can order and she wags her finger at me. I say "y'all close at 10" and she shrugs her shoulders at me. I haven't had great experiences with the staff before and this is the last straw. I can't believe the terrible service. read more

As the name states, Chicken and it's fast. They have good chicken and a wide range of side. Everything is fried so don't be thinking there's going to be a healthier option here. The chicken is lightly breaded. I'm told the tea was out of this world but I will have to leave that to the tea drinkers to decided. They also have fish and it was a large portion too. The chicken was fresh and hot and there were no complaints from our group. A great quick stop for great chicken! read more

My husband and I have made it a tradition to pick up Chicken Express tenders with mashed potatoes and few extra sides to tailgate at the Bearkat football games. We always call ahead to place our order since we have a large group to feed. Every time we have placed a call ahead order the staff has been extremely helpful and very friendly. The location is always clean and our order is ready to go upon arrival. The food quality is great and is always consistent. I'd highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great value on chicken tenders and sides: read more

The people that work here have messed my order up multiple times, then give me attitude when I ask them to fix it. Chicken Express obviously hires high school dropouts with little to no communication skills. Too bad it's the only one near me. read more

Usually stop in on our way thru Huntsville and we really like it here. Good sweet tea. Love dipping my chicken strips in mashed potatoes and gravy. Also, this place gives you the option of a roll or a biscuit...like there's really any debate on which is better. Biscuit! read more

worst customer service ever!!! i went over there on monday, and i got something to eat but i had forgot to ask for a water, i went in the lobby and i asked for a cup of water, i was thirsty and this lady rang my water up and told me it was 45cents, i was like ok i dont have 45 cents but i just bought a whole meal at the drive thru, and this lady just left me there at the front looking all stupid and ignored me completly as if i wasnt standing there, is that how you treat a customer?? that is ignorance and discrimination of the highest order, just for a cup of water!! read more

Really good catfish at the one I ate at in Lufkin! Wish they would build one on East side of Houston!

love the fried gizzards. just right amount of batter. The corn nuggets are addictive and the price is reasonable.

Wanted to charge .54 for 2 extra sauces and didn't even give me the right sauces and didn't even include the gravy it comes with, never coming here again read more

Three stars because it's a very clean location which is hard to achieve in the middle of nowhere. But the chicken was just ok. We ordered the tenders and they are very large, all white meat and very juicy. The tender meal comes with a butter roll (pretty good) and a white gravy for dipping. The flavor of the chicken was just a little bland through. The fries were good but the fried okra was delicious and saved the meal. read more

My wife and I went to Chicken Express at 623 State HWY 75 North, Huntsville, TX at 8:40 pm on 05/17/2019. We wanted to order the "10 piece Thigh Only for $9.99" special and they REFUSED to sell this to us. The reason they gave us was that another customer might come in after us and want a thigh, if they sold them to us then they wouldn't have a thigh to sell their imaginary customer. How does someone respond to such stupidity? Refusing to sell your product to an actual customer to save for a possible future customer? It was 8:40 pm on Friday, the store dosen't close until 10:00 pm. They should have the ability to prepare more thighs. Apparently nobody is watching this crew so they are taking advantage of their employeer. I would think that the owner of this business will want to know how their current employees are refusing to sell to their customers because of their own apparent laziness or incompetence. read more
