I don't think we've ever had a bad experience here, and that may be because I always order the most unique items and they have to cook it on the spot, but they never let me down! My go to is the fried gizzards, this is the only place that I know I can get them without having to cook them for myself. And they're GOOD! Same with the okra - they usually have to cook it fresh. They made the catfish fresh when I ordered today, too. The chicken and fries were good to the rest of my family as they normally are, too. I don't ever go inside so I'm not sure about the ambiance, but everyone that has ever served me at the window had been nice, and so have the people who bring my food to me once it's done (because I always have to pull forward and wait during to the gizzards and okra needing to be cooked after I order them). read more

Discriminatory Hiring Practices and Unprofessional Management I initially had a great experience applying here on December 15. An employee named Aliya was incredibly kind, professional, and conducted a great interview. I was hired the next day and told to wait for my schedule. However, the process fell apart due to the management. When I returned on December 23, I was immediately asked by staff if I spoke Spanish. When I said no, the atmosphere changed. The manager, Nutiva, has been incredibly rude and is now blocking my employment over a redundancy in banking paperwork, despite me already providing my direct deposit information. It appears this location prefers a specific demographic. During my visits, I noticed the staff is entirely Hispanic, and after being asked about my Spanish speaking abilities, I feel I am being pushed out based on my background rather than my ability to cook. When I asked for the owner (Jordan's) contact info to resolve this, Nutiva refused to give it to me, claiming he wouldn't care. Haven't been to chicken express in years. Needed something quick and nearby so I decided to try it again. The spicy chicken tenders were delicious! I didn't know what side to get, so I asked the worker what she would recommend and she suggested the jalapeño poppers. Her recommendation did not disappoint! They were so good! When I arrived at the drive through they asked me to pull over it would be five minutes. 12 minutes later the food was brought out With the orders wrong. The guy went back in for us three times before everything was correct. He said they had a new "nagger for orders". First, calling ahead did not matter; second, three times back and forth added to an already long wait time, third when we got back to the house the sides were sideways in the box so my catfish was soaked with green bean water and gravy so it was inedible. The only redeeming thing is how friendly staff was when I called and the guy bringing the food out was very nice and apologized with each mess up. As for this location first impression: the guy at the counter had no expression on his face. He did not want to be working and sure did not have any training on customer service. After the painful interaction with him the food came out in a timely manner. The chicken strips and gravy was very good. The roll and my okra was prefect. I love the food. I just wish they try a little harder on service. I blame the manager they need to watch their employee's and teach. But a lot of the times the manager is not any better. The first time I visited this place, I was in the drive through for five minutes and for five minutes I saw a frustrated customer trying to place an order but couldn't because the drive thru employee told the customer to hold. No wonder why drive-thru is a zoo to get through. They take forever to take an order and when they finally take your order, you have to wait behind the other 3 or 4 cars on the other side of the restaurant waiting to receive their order at the ONE drive-thru window where you pay and receive your items at the same window. I think the problem with this Chicken Express location is that they have hired a bunch of young, playful kids primarily concerned about getting their paycheck every two weeks. They need to invest in training their employees and run a more efficient drive-thru. One employee takes the order and collects the payment and another employee prepares and gives the order to the customers. I noticed in some of the other reviews that they reuse the oil. I was expecting my chicken (I ordered 2 piece thighs) to taste like old oil but it actually tasted fresh. My only issue with the actual chicken was that there wasn't much taste to it but that isn't the fault of the restaurant since that is how they make their chicken. Horrible customer service, on multiple visits. Sad part is the one with the WORSE service is the head manager. I will never return there. I love their sweet tea but I'd rather get red diamond before giving them another penny.
