I don't think we've ever had a bad experience here, and that may be because I always order the most unique items and they have to cook it on the spot, but they never let me down! My go to is the fried gizzards, this is the only place that I know I can get them without having to cook them for myself. And they're GOOD! Same with the okra - they usually have to cook it fresh. They made the catfish fresh when I ordered today, too. The chicken and fries were good to the rest of my family as they normally are, too. I don't ever go inside so I'm not sure about the ambiance, but everyone that has ever served me at the window had been nice, and so have the people who bring my food to me once it's done (because I always have to pull forward and wait during to the gizzards and okra needing to be cooked after I order them). read more

Discriminatory Hiring Practices and Unprofessional Management I initially had a great experience applying here on December 15. An employee named Aliya was incredibly kind, professional, and conducted a great interview. I was hired the next day and told to wait for my schedule. However, the process fell apart due to the management. When I returned on December 23, I was immediately asked by staff if I spoke Spanish. When I said no, the atmosphere changed. The manager, Nutiva, has been incredibly rude and is now blocking my employment over a redundancy in banking paperwork, despite me already providing my direct deposit information. It appears this location prefers a specific demographic. During my visits, I noticed the staff is entirely Hispanic, and after being asked about my Spanish speaking abilities, I feel I am being pushed out based on my background rather than my ability to cook. When I asked for the owner (Jordan's) contact info to resolve this, Nutiva refused to give it to me, claiming he wouldn't care. If you are not part of the specific demographic this manager is looking for, do not waste your time applying here. read more

We like to eat Chicken express when we can but this location is always lacking . Tenders are always over cooked , nothing is fresh. I wouldn't complain but we pay a lot and it's not worth coming here. Hope someone that works there try's to improve it here . read more

Just left Chicken Express; ordered fish meal. The green beans and corn on the cob was the worst I've ever tasted; also my roll was hard. The catfish was fresh and tastes good, though. So, I guess I paid $12.55 for two pieces of catfish because I didn't eat anything else. I'm over it! I like Chicken Express, but I won't return to this location ever. read more

The chicken tenders lacked freshness and were excessively cooked. The fried pickles were overly salty. This my second time experiencing this from this location. I'll continue to visit the location on broad st. read more

I don't care what anyone says.. I'll give it 5 stars for their sweet tea alone. The workers know us for coming and getting the teas. read more

Haven't been to chicken express in years. Needed something quick and nearby so I decided to try it again. The spicy chicken tenders were delicious! I didn't know what side to get, so I asked the worker what she would recommend and she suggested the jalapeño poppers. Her recommendation did not disappoint! They were so good! I couldn't decide between a biscuit or roll, so she recommended the roll. Again, not disappointed. I will definitely be coming back when I don't feel like cooking! read more

Great fried catfish. Thick filets. Oh no... I need to have 85 characters in the review so I added this BS.

"I recently dined at [Chicken Express on Lake Ridge Pkwy] and was thoroughly impressed by both the freshness of the food and the impeccable service. The attentive and caring was displayed by an awesome young man (Kussay the shift leader) he ensured that our meal would be fresh per our request and ensuring our satisfaction. This young man has put our faith back in this Chicken Express in our neighborhood. So again I want to thank Kussay for such wonderful service. read more

The food was great as always, but the service was outstanding! We went through the drive through at 4:50pm on 3/11/2024. The young man working the drive through was amazing. He was so friendly and pleasant. I did not catch his name, but our receipt shows host as register #4 and cashier as register #3. read more

Called ahead to and was told they would start some catfish to be ready in ten minutes. When I arrived at the drive through they asked me to pull over it would be five minutes. 12 minutes later the food was brought out With the orders wrong. The guy went back in for us three times before everything was correct. He said they had a new "nagger for orders". First, calling ahead did not matter; second, three times back and forth added to an already long wait time, third when we got back to the house the sides were sideways in the box so my catfish was soaked with green bean water and gravy so it was inedible. The only redeeming thing is how friendly staff was when I called and the guy bringing the food out was very nice and apologized with each mess up. He gave us free extra rolls but what I wanted was catfish. read more

I was in Grand Prairie and decided to try this Chicken Express I been to plenty of Chicken Express in the past so I know what to expect. As for this location first impression: the guy at the counter had no expression on his face. He did not want to be working and sure did not have any training on customer service. After the painful interaction with him the food came out in a timely manner. The chicken strips and gravy was very good. The roll and my okra was prefect. I love the food. I just wish they try a little harder on service. I blame the manager they need to watch their employee's and teach. But a lot of the times the manager is not any better. So come here for the chicken you will not be disappointed. read more

5pm on Saturday evening. 10min wait in thru line. Only to get 2 min down the street with order and chicken strips are hard, dry and stale! I guess the only good thing was the fries were decently warm and my cheese sticks seemed cooked to order. Didn't have the time return and get my money back. I see why this spot only had a two star rating. These fast food joints are declining big time! Employees just don't care about the quality of food they put out! read more

If I can give a zero star I will! The staff are so unfriendly and rude. I asked for 2 boxes of 8 pieces chicken and I only got 1 box when I got home. I called back and told them about my concern the staff cut me off and started talking with a very rude tone and the chicken tasted nasty! Too much salt & too oily never buying food here again. Worst fucking food ever. My DoorDash driver waited forever. Meanwhile the food was ready 90 minutes before I got it delivered. Cold shitty food and missing items. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to work fast food. read more

I ordered 25 spicy tenders with fries and okra. I was so disappointed when I got home and saw that the chicken was a dark brown color ... I already knew it was overcooked by that. It was so hard and chewy. The okra was also over cooked ... most of them were hard and dark brown. I feel robbed of my $35 read more

Corn nuggets...pretty good when served hot (I still prefer Rudy's Chicken and Church's chicken tho) Their roll.....very good (The cashier recommended the roll over the biscuit) Their sweet tea......very sweet and good (would order again if I ever visit a Chicken Express again but that is highly unlikely). This is my second time visiting this location but first time actually ordering. The first time I visited this place, I was in the drive through for five minutes and for five minutes I saw a frustrated customer trying to place an order but couldn't because the drive thru employee told the customer to hold. No wonder why drive-thru is a zoo to get through. They take forever to take an order and when they finally take your order, you have to wait behind the other 3 or 4 cars on the other side of the restaurant waiting to receive their order at the ONE drive-thru window where you pay and receive your items at the same window. I think the problem with this Chicken Express location is that they have hired a bunch of young, playful kids primarily concerned about getting their paycheck every two weeks. They need to invest in training their employees and run a more efficient drive-thru. One employee takes the order and collects the payment and another employee prepares and gives the order to the customers. I noticed in some of the other reviews that they reuse the oil. I was expecting my chicken (I ordered 2 piece thighs) to taste like old oil but it actually tasted fresh. My only issue with the actual chicken was that there wasn't much taste to it but that isn't the fault of the restaurant since that is how they make their chicken. Pricing is a little on the high side in my opinion. $6.40 for corn nuggets, a roll and two piece chicken (no drink). read more

Not wasting time to call or return my order. However this is not the first time things were not correct. Asked for 4 tenders and gravy (declined both roll or biscuit) and a medium drink. When I got to the window I asked "so this comes with gravy?" And was told yes. Shame on me for not checking but at home: No gravy 4 VERY over cooked dry tenders A roll - which I specially said no For over $7.00, I will no longer take chances with this location and will not return read more

Order $20 worth of food chicken tenders was old and boneless wings was fried hard and took them back to get fresh order manager Jessica asked if I wanted my money back I told her yes she said after she balance her money drawers out it would go back on my debt card and shut the window and walked away was rude...will not be coming back to this location read more

I have no clue what they're doing there. I asked for an 8 piece legs and thighs, they gave me breasts and wings. They also gave me ONLY 7 PIECES!!! They charged me for fries and asked potatoes. This is the worst Chicken Express around. I have reviewed before but maybe on Google. Horrible every time. On this visit. We ordered 2 combos, one with mashed potatoes and one with Okra. Bith orders came with mashed potatoes. The food was also cold. Not like cooled down or anything...flat out cold. So the food is a big problem...oh ya...the rolls were burned. Then the service. The girl at the window had to have been high or something. She didn't give us our drinks...literally had to knock on the window to ask for them. Then she hands them to us and they are covered with spilled drink..so.we had to ask for napkins. Instead of wiping them off she handed them like that for us to do it. Then we had to ask for straws. ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE. Won't go back. I wouldn't recommend anyone going there. Oh ya and the left out my spicy salt. I would contact management but I know nothing gets done. The reviews for this place speak for themselves. read more

Worst service ever. I had to call them to remind them I was outside waiting. Lack of care or dedication to their work or customers

Horrible customer service, on multiple visits. Sad part is the one with the WORSE service is the head manager. I will never return there. I love their sweet tea but I'd rather get red diamond before giving them another penny. I always notice this manager speak to the person in front of me and painstakingly try to hold a convo with them. Hand them their receipt and say thank you. Every single time he's at the counter, no hello or thank you. The first time I pulled him aside and he gave this excuse of family problems but it's been three times since then. This time he gave me a torn cup holder bag didn't say I'm sorry no apology nothing, just quietly replaced it. I always speak and say thank you but I'm buying from you you should do both first. Even if he responds it's the driest hi ever. Customer service is everything and clearly he lack and so does the other guy there. I was there when this place first opened and service was awesome now I'll be a vegetarian before stepping in there again. The manager needs to take a class on consistent customer service because I was going out of my way to get there. #rollseyes read more

It's truly hard to mess up Chicken E but this location always does . I won't leave the window without a box count . This past time I look the guy right in the face and asked where my fried pies were . He said " in the boxes with the chicken " I pulled forward and looked . Yep he lied and not only that the fries in one of the boxes were missing . So of course I go in and he looks like he has seen a ghost . I told him " I told you I was going to look !" I literally left my car in the drive through , just pulled up enough for people to get by Funny thing is I never had to say what was missing he went and gathered everything and just handed it to me . There used to not be much out here but now there are other choices . You guys look pretty busy so just imagine if you were to get your act together ! read more

So they laughed at my wife when she ordered drive thru today, she repeated the order back 5 times, asked for unsweet tea and they kept asking her sweet or unsweet, and kept laughing, she then tried to order her food and asked for a lemonade, they asked sweet or unsweet and laughed at her again, this place is a joke and the manager/owner will be hearing from us. The staff is friendly. Most of the time I get the hot wings and they are cooked to order which is fine because they are always hot and fresh. My issue is that I hate cream gravy and 50% of the time they put gravy on my mashed potatoes although I ask/tell numerous times when ordering no gravy. It is very frustrating to get home and get comfortable and then have a container full of potatoes with white gravy. read more

I live near by so this place is convience but I will NOT ever come to this place again. I will drive further to Golden Chick to get fried chicken or 15 miles away to KFC...Took 45 mins to get my order last time...Took 42 mins this time on Saturday. Same thing happened, saw the girl come out and give the order to the car behind me...then the car behind me and the car behind me. WTH, I was at the window for at least 15 mins and my car is not invisible and I am not invisible. Update me.. Noticed same thing happened on another review for this place except it happened to me twice. Why? Service here is terrible...
