Golden Chick - 1705 South Webb, Wichita, KS…read more I recently visited the Golden Chick on South Webb and went through the drive-thru for the first time. I ordered the 12-piece family meal, which was listed on the menu as $21.99. However, at checkout, the total came to around $53, which was surprising and confusing. While placing my order, I asked a few questions since it was my first visit. Unfortunately, the employee assisting me was noticeably short and unhelpful. As someone who also works in customer service, I understand how important it is to be patient and courteous with customers -- especially since we interact with many different personalities every day. On a positive note, the food itself was fresh and well-presented. The chicken tenders and biscuits were delicious, and the sauce was great. The mashed potatoes were a bit bland and the mac and cheese was average, but overall the meal was decent. That said, the experience was overshadowed by the lack of friendliness from the staff. Customer service can make or break a business, and a little kindness and attentiveness can go a long way. Because of that interaction, I don't think I'll be returning, even though the food was good. I'm sharing this feedback not to get anyone in trouble, but in hopes that management takes it as an opportunity to improve. Great food deserves great service to match.

We had questions that we asked out loud but zero response or help by their staff. Just stared at us with the "doe in headlights" look. We were on our own. What we ordered said it came with a roll but when we ordered, we had to add the roll for additional cost with the meal. I asked out loud that it said it comes with a roll for a set price but when we added roll it cost extra! It really never made sense to either of us. I would NEVER go back. Everything tasted the same.

We ordered the Fish Dinner: $15.99 for 2 fillets and 2 sides. We ordered onion rings and mac 'n' cheese. I thought the fish batter was very nicely seasoned and flavorful. But I was disappointed in how thin the fillets were. Not very meaty. The onion rings were just ok, tasted like a "frozen from a box" ring rather than hand made on site. The mac 'n' cheese was pretty tasty. We were there at 4pm on a Sunday, and they had a nice steady stream of customers. I'm glad for that, and glad we tried it. But I don't think we'll go back. A bit high priced for what we got.

The sauce was not spicy at all, considering the description said it was a balanced spiciness with garlic. Never get their boneless wings.
