We waited over an hour to get our food because we didn't get the special, we got sandwiches. There were people that came well after us that ordered sandwiches & received them way before we did. Good thing my friend & I were playing catchup & enjoying our visit. Neither (tiny) sandwich comes with fries, we did not order any, that's ridiculous. She said her burger had an dirty grill taste to it. Who serves sandwiches with no fries?... no one. These were pitiful little plates. I got the four entree combo with a quesadilla, flauta, burrito, and soft taco, and that was 17 dollars. It came with beans and rice. My girlfriend got the "burrito loco" which was just a big burrito with steak chicken bell peppers beans onions and rice, and it was 11 bucks? our plates were the same size but her burrito was taller than my "entrees". But let me get started on the food. I got a bean burrito and asked for them to add cheese (bean and cheese burritos are like a soul food to me.) Your choices are chicken beef or beans so im not upset i didnt get meat, what i am upset about is they poured cheese queso sauce over my burrito, and charged me 1.75 for it? the beans tasted and looked like canned beans i had in tacos a week ago, and the cheese sauce tasted like sonics new queso burger. The flauta was alright but the meat tasted like a chinese food buffet? the soft taco tasted like taco bell soft tacos which was so disappointing but to top it all off my quesadilla was a soft taco with more sonic cheese sauce in it. absolutely disappointing. My girlfriend said her burrito was flavorless which her "burrito loco" looked to have the most items in it. I got a horchata and honestly that wasnt half bad but all of the other food was unfortunately mid. Will definitely never come back besides maybe for horchata. Also drinks are 3.50?? In this economy?? Ambiance was basic.

But once they flip it without finding the hotspot, to another searing hot area, Our steak then only gets steamed from the bottom. Crispy presentation side but beef stew brim watery bottom side. So a lack of care for the quality of meats and poor trading and quality control to send out steamed/stewey cuts on the bottom side. We may be back, but will ensure to tell the team there to sear both sides before plating

I'd eaten here once before and it was excellent. Unfortunately I pulled into an empty parking lot at 5:30 pm. Both Yelp and Mapquest confirmed that the restaurant should have been open, but there wasn't a soul in sight. I tried calling the phone number but it appears to either be disconnected or listed wrong all over the internet (I tried it from several different pages). It's a shame that this place has either went out of business -- or as another reviewer mentioned -- won't keep steady business hours. Worse yet is them saying they're open for business and not being so, especially when traveling in from a long distance.

McClellan's Country Store is worth the drive and makes a great Saturday drive destination…read more The store is a registered historical building and retains its early 20th Century charm. The walls are lined with original wood shelves. There's a wood burning stove in the back with chairs for "sitting a spell." If it weren't for the modern soda fridges and the modern lables on the canned goods, you'd swear you were living a scene from "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" The store features a small dining room in the adjacent space on the right. While you can get a really good burger, you really should order the fish. The fish being catfish fried to perfection. Firm, golden and crispy on the outside and flaky and moist on the inside. Perfection. We had the fish snack which was three pieces, two hush puppies, fries and a slice of raw onion (its a Southern thing.) McClellan's also offers fried pies, including strawberry, blackberry, coconut and chocolate. Even if you don't want lunch, consider getting a fried pie to enjoy on your trip. While in the area, don't forget to visit the Bear Bryant birthplace and the Mark's Mill Civil War battlefield and cemetery. You might also walk down the street and enjoy the other 19 downtown buildings on the historic register.
