Well I don't really know where to start with My Lawyer Paul Burnson. First of all picking a lawyer was one of the most difficult decisions because you are putting your life in someone else's hands and praying they are ethical, decent, and gonna truly fight on the behalf of you. Chicago Trusted Attorneys was the best decision I ever made. These people have treated me with nothing but the utmost respect and really like family. They had my sons best interest heart knowing he was not a bad kid just got himself into a pickle running with the wrong crowd and getting himself into trouble he shouldn't have. Paul fought really hard to get him the best deal possible and that he did. But even after getting him probation for 4 different felony cases, He still screwed that up and Paul then went in and fought again still getting him 1 case unsatisfactory probation with no time and only 45 days time to do. These lawyers are top notch and I can't thank Paul enough for all he has done for me and my family. He called not only you give updates but just to check on me and see how I was doing knowing this was something difficult for me to go through it being your child. Paul Burnson and the Chicago Trusted Attorneys are a cut above the rest and I would recommend them to anyone. Their name says a lot and it is what they are all about. They are honest and upfront about everything, the good, the bad, and the ugly. Kudos to a law firm that is all about their clients and not just about a dollar. They actually care and work for you. So Thank you Paul Burnson, David Smith, Kelly the aid that helps them, and the rest of the Chicago Trusted Attorney Team I appreciate you all and hopefully I don't need you anymore. LOL!!!! Thankfully, J.E. read more

My daughter, who lives in Virginia (New Yorker - here), gets into a serious problem in Chicago. With no family or friends to help us, I started looking for a lawyer to handle the case. David was the first attorney I spoke with but like any consumer, I contacted a few others and based on their feedback settled on him. In the initial conversation, David took his time to explain the "Chicago" legal process in a way that it eased my anxiety. No father wants to hear that their daughter may do a lot of jail time. In any case, once I signed the contract, David got to work quickly. After two court appearances, the State dropped the charges until further notice. They were not prepared to proceed in a timely manner. Great, my daughter gets to walk out of county jail were she spent almost thirty days but she has no one to take her in. The county jail personnel released my daughter at 10 pm without her property which contained her id and money. She was stranded in a strange place in the middle of the night and here is where David showed his true character. A father himself, he looked after my daughter as if it was his. He picked her up and booked a hotel room for an overnight stay. The next day, his assistant Natalie, drove my daughter around Chicago to recover her property and then dropped her off at the Greyhound bus station. Anyone else would've said, "I only get paid to represent her in court." But David, he was out at 12 a.m. making sure my daughter was safe and sound. This review may seem longer than your usual type but words cannot describe how grateful I feel. read more

Most people never want to be in a position to need a lawyer. I unfortunately found myself in that position in early May of 2025. I was involved in a Domestic Battery, in Berwyn Illinois. As a result of the events that occurred in May I was arrested. Following my release I reached out to a number of Law firms in an attempt to obtain legal representation. I spoke to 3 firms before calling Chicago Trusted Attorneys. When I called them I spoke DIRECTLY to David Smith. When I called every time following, or when I received a call, I spoke directly to David Smith. There was no run around, no call screenings or scheduling to speak at another time which I really appreciated. I chose Chicago Trusted Attorneys for representation because I felt like David Smith not only took the time to explain the process and journey ahead, but he also took the time to ensure he could adequately represent me (based on timing and the cases he already made commitments too) prior to receiving payment. I genuinely felt like I was in good hands and David Smith is extremely good at his job and very knowledgeable. If you are able to have Chicago Trusted Attorneys represent you, I believe it is the way to go! I wish peace and blessing on every reader seeking guidance and every team member at Chicago Trusted Attorneys. read more

Most clients will tell you that the final judgement is the only thing that matters, but how you get there is what builds the foundation and trust for a successful defense. My situation was extremely sensitive since I was accused of aggravated criminal sexual assault, including multiple felony charges against me, to which I fully maintained my innocence. As a direct result, this case impacted my life professionally, personally, and most importantly, as a Dad. From the moment go, the entire team at CTA was committed to my case and always managed the entire proceedings with professionalism and open communication. David M. Smith's leadership is contagious, and the genuine care and concern that I received from the entire team including Stephanie Buck, Paul Brunson, and Isioma V. Ebirngah allowed me stay positive, remain focused, and have the necessary resilience to never give up. Their combined efforts delivered a precision defense which resulted in all charges against me being dismissed or rendering a verdict of Not Guilty. I am humbled by the results and will be forever grateful to David M. Smith, Stephanie Buck, and the entire Chicago Trusted Attorneys Team for their dedication to clearing my name and allowing me to get my life back! read more

I hired the Chicago Trusted Attorneys from a number of firms I was meeting with in the Chicago area because of how genuine and detailed their message to help was. Paul got assigned my DUI case and my first court date was right at the height of COVID. We soon learned that with the amount of evidence the state of Illinois had they wanted to convict me so Paul put it plain and simple for me: we could take it to trial and fight it or try to make a deal with possibly a lesser conviction. I decided to fight it because a conviction didn't sit well with me. The case dragged out for almost 3 years and throughout that time Paul found a crack in the case and told me his game plan all along to try and get my charges dropped. Finally when the trial date came, Paul and Stephanie were as prepared as ever and they won my case. Got all charges dropped! I couldn't believe it, but that just goes to show the amazing work this team puts in behind the scenes. Thank you Paul, Stephanie, and the whole team! I couldn't have picked a better team that truly cares and isn't just out to make a dollar. I would highly recommend to anyone, they are experts in their areas of practice and will put it the time to beat the case! read more

Working with David was an outstanding experience from start to finish. He was incredibly prompt, professional, and attentive, always taking the time to make sure I understood exactly what was happening at each stage of the process. David patiently answered every question, no matter how small, and made me feel completely at ease during a stressful time. What impressed me most was how efficiently and confidently he handled my case, keeping everything on track and wrapping it up much faster than I expected -- and in my favor! His communication was excellent, and I always felt like my case was a priority. If you're looking for an attorney who is knowledgeable, responsive, and genuinely cares about his clients, I highly recommend David. I had a bad speeding ticket and CTA helped me out of the biggest mistake in my life. They were EXCELLENT with their communication. And even when my attorney got held up at trial, they were able to send another reputable attorney to assist with my hearing instead of having me ask for a continuance (meaning another day of missing work!). Even following my appearance, they helped me with ALL my questions throughout the following months. The best part is, they were 1/3 less than the cost of another attorney I contacted who would NOT be upfront about the possible outcomes in court. They were upfront, punctual, and professional. If I ever do something that stupid again, they will be the attorneys I call. I could not be happier with the cost, outcome, and the way they treated me throughout this process! read more

Real people who help real problems. Everyone at this firm is professional and genuine. Getting a consultation is easy and simple, and communication is top tier. From the moment I spoke with David Smith, I had full faith and confidence in his legal experts and advice. He provided me with an amazing Attorney, Stephanie Buck. Ms. Buck is incredibly knowledgeable and patient when it came to my questions and understandings of the legal process/justice system. Nicole Rojas, her paralegal is also incredibly helpful. She always helped me with questions regarding court orders for movement and the requirements I'd need. I am unbelievably grateful with the outcome. There is no better team than the one at, "Chicago Trusted Attorneys". read more

I was charged with Domestic Battery and a Order of Protection was issued on me in my own house. After hiring Mr. Smith I felt a relief that I would not have to go this course alone, I felt I had someone who had my best interest at heart. We took this case to trial and WON, he was like a young Perry Mason. At any rate not only was I found not guilty of Domestic Battery the OP was thrown out. By the way I also hired Mr. Smith to serve this individual a 30 day notice to vacate my property. Needless to say I'm one Happy Camper with the services I received from David Smith and his team. I would Highly Recommend anyone with issues such as mine to CONTACT Mr. Smith so that at least you will be able to breath. read more

Both Paul Burnson and David Smith of Chicago Trusted Attorneys provided us with excellent support, advice, and legal counsel. Paul was the lead attorney on my son's case and he was extremely responsive in answering all of my questions. He stayed engaged throughout the process, including a few continuances and he was very persistent when dealing with a non responsive prosecutor. During my son's court appearance, Paul was clearly the sharpest attorney in the room - ultimately getting the violation dismissed altogether. We couldn't be happier with the service and outcome. I recommend them wholeheartedly! read more
