Luciano. Sirloin Steak, broccoli I also had a mini loaf and access to salad bat

My steak was perfect! Juicy and didn't need any add ons even tho afterwards I did ask for A1 but that was more of a preference. I ate some of the steak firsthand to taste it and without any condiments it was a perfectly seasoned a d cooked steak. I wasn't too impressed with the salad bar but that could also be because I went during lunch time. Dinner could be a complete different story. My husband ordered a turkey melt. He said it was good just wished it had leas onions but dis not take away from it being a good sandwich. The ambience was nice. A lot of mafioso history. It was a nice theme and the price was really good for a steakhouse. We decided on a four simply because we weren't wowed by it but we were also not disappointed.

Stopped in for a birthday dinner, wasn't aware the whole party had to be present before seated so that we waited a bit in the front area. Once seated at our table, we were greeted right away with a waitress. She was very attentive, maybe a bit forward, but I think that was just her personality. Gorgeous dining area, very 'moody' for a nice date or gathering. Large tables for big groups are available also. We started with onion rings, they were fresh thin & crispy! Very good. The salad bar comes with all meals & you can take endless trips. If we knew that, we may have passed on the onion rings as there were soo many delicious options at the salad bar! Everyone got something different for dinner, all posted in the photos. Everything was delicious, no complaints! Prices are super reasonable for the portions & quality. We will definitely be back!

Steak de burgo with a baked potato- so delicious.

Food was delicious. The salad bar remains a favorite of ours with the herring, greens and fruit salads. Service was great.

You get a lot of food for your money so we mostly focus on the salad bar and then took our food home and that lasted for a bunch of lunches. The choices were hard to pick between. I love the fried chicken, but you cannot skip the prime rib.

All and all, a great experience. The salad bar has a variety of options, the speciality cocktails were all poured correctly, and the prime rib was on point. I also need to mention that the horseradish is phenomenal here. Stop by and enjoy a great steak dinner at a great price!

4.2* (out of 5) Food: 4* Atmosphere: 5* Value: 4* Service: 5* Would I go back / Recommend?: 3* (Maybe - if in the area) Total check/person: $44 05/03/2024 This place has been intriguing for a while now and we finally had the chance to give it a try last weekend. The exterior is a basic black and white building (see pictures) - in character with their tie and hat sign. The interior, while a little dark (some might say 'romantic'), did a good job of keeping with the speakeasy theme. There are multiple pictures, figures and etched glass of famous Chicago-area gangsters (see pictures). A call out to our server, Trudy - who took good care of us and was patient as I took pictures of the menu before deciding what I wanted to eat or drink. We started with drinks (see pictures) - my wife had a Lemon Drop Martini and I opted for a Godfather, as I like amaretto and bourbon. This was the first time I'd had amaretto and bourbon and while the quality was good, I wasn't excited about the flavor and probably wouldn't order it again. My wife makes her own (and I dare say excellent) Lemon Drop Martinis, so has high expectations when she orders one. She was not impressed with it, so I sampled it and would share the opinion that it was the weakest Lemon Drop Martini I've ever tasted. It tasted like it had been thinned about 50% with water (you can almost see through it in the picture). She assumed it was maybe a fluke, so tried a Tito's and pineapple juice next...unfortunately with the same results. While the rest of the food (see next paragraph) was excellent and would have warranted 5* for the Food rating, I just couldn't go above 4* given how poor the cocktails were. On to the food - the highlight of the visit! Some of the reviews mentioned that this was one of the best salad bars in the area and I have to agree. The salad bar was flat out amazing (see picture) - laid out nicely, well lit, a good selection and maintained to retain cleanliness and freshness. If you like salad bars, this place is worth a visit just for the salad bar. The table bread that came with the meal (see picture) was average - the full loaf and cutting board presentation were great, but we prefer a heavier, higher quality bread - and this was very light and very white. For our main courses, my wife ordered the Prime Rib with Scallops (see picture) and I went for the Seafood Lasagna (see picture). While the scallops were not what my wife expected (breaded and came across a little bit like fast food), they did taste good and she was quite happy with the prime rib. I REALLY liked the Seafood Lasagna as well as the crispy, breaded garlic bread - both of which were highly regarded in other reviews that we read. After indulging in a generous serving from the salad bar, we could only finish about half of our meals, which meant we had the pleasure of enjoying the leftovers at home! Chicago gangster-themed restaurant with one of the best salad bars in the area and an amazing Seafood Lasagna dish that you have to try! Been here once when I was little. Remember it was good because I liked the salad bar. Don't even know if that still exists.

Great old style family steakhouse with a fantastic salad bar. Reasonably priced and intimate dining areas. Looking forward to my next visit.

Most of the seating here seemed to be targeted towards large groups so there wasn't a ton of option for a party of 2. We did not have a reservation so there was only 1 high top area that was honestly super uncomfortable. I would recommend making a reservation if you want a chance to sit at one of the lower chair areas. The biggest issue was the service. It took over 20 minutes for anyone to come over and take our drink order. This is a newer spot so I'm hopeful things can improve. It was super loud and not the most inviting space. Some of the seating was a bit awkward with spacing. The drinks were small but I would expect that for a higher end cocktail. For DSM, I did think some of the drinks seemed a bit expensive. The drinks were okay but seemed pretty weak where they were super juice heavy. Overall I would probably not come back unless I had friends who haven't been and wanted to try it. Super bummed as I do think there is potential here but need to work through some of these issues.

Somebody will ask you how many people in your party and then open the wall pantry. This will lead to the stair that goes downstairs to the basement. Bar lighting is dim, intimate feel. There's bar seating, high tops, tables that accommodate large parties and VIP room that has a curtain for privacy. We ordered cocktails that were unique crafted. Bathroom is available, hallway of pictures of people dressed in the 1920s all over the wall. We enjoyed this speakeasy bar and will definitely come back with more people.
