This review is submitted on behalf of my mother, a senior resident of Northern Chicago, who tried to book a trip with Chicago Russian Tours in April 2019. It was a terrible and disappointing experience, and my mom is still shaken by the fact how Olga, this business's coordinator, was unprofessional, rude, and dishonest! At first my mother decided to book a trip to Florida but later was notified that the tour was cancelled because there weren't enough interested individuals. After Olga visited in person to collect the money and assured that she will help to find a ride for my mom to Arlington Heights on the day of departure, mother changed her booking to New Orleans trip. A couple of days prior to the scheduled tour, Olga called my mom and reported that nobody from the group was able to pick her up, and she gave her a phone number for a driver who turned out to be unavailable. My mother attempted to find another driver who failed to pick her up at 4 a.m., and as a result she lost all of her paid money. If she were notified earlier by Olga that there would be no ride, she could have cancelled her trip and asked for her money back! Later my mother spoke twice to Olga on the phone, and Olga again was very disrespectful and judgmental which was really upsetting to mom. P.S. My mother and I went on a tour to New York in 2001 when Chicago Russian Tours was under the management of Felix Nitis, and I have to say that tour was well-planned and affordable, and Felix was very knowledgeable and friendly to all traveling clients. Unfortunately today's quality of their service is incomparable, and this business is a shameful reminder of what this organization used to offer to Chicago community! read more
