a chicago hot dog cart
Stephanie J.

This street cart is serving up Chicago style hotdogs. They also have NC bright leaf, all beef and vegan hotdog options. I ordered the victory dog and a bright leaf topped with ketchup, mustard and mayo because I love ketchup. Great hotdogs with a super friendly owner from Chicago. Make sure you get a loyalty card so you can get your tenth dog for free.

After a morning filled with yard sales we piled in the Jeep Jeep and drove from Fuquay-Varina to…read moreApex for the 10th Annual Pig Fest!! It was a beautiful Sat. and the streets were packed with people. We parked over the railroad tracks and walked through Main Street past all the cute stores and in front of the Fire Station where all the festivities were being held. We walked by the food trucks, shaved ice, and a few other vendors. We went and payed for our drink tickets then went back and stood in line for some yummy BBQ. I believe there were 4 meat options ckn. pork, brisket and ribs. I had the brisket plate. A little pricey, but they gave a nice meat portion with 3 sides fries, macaroni & cheese and 2 lil hush puppies. It def. filled me up, but I wish they had more side options. I like veggies too!! The live music was playing when we first arrived, but while we sat under the tent and ate they must have been taking a long break. I think they could have used a few more tables and chairs. Even a few more high tops around the edges of the tent would have been nice. I had a beer from Vicious Fishes Brewery it was an IPA. I don't recall the name, but it was nice and refreshing. There was also another brewery there and some wine, seltzer and sodas were being offered too. It was def a nice experience. A little crowded by the food vendors and finding a seat to eat was a little bit of a challenge for 5 of us, but someone was nice enough to share their table and give up an extra chair. I did venture over to the porter potties once. They were clean, but I have found that the mobile bathrooms that are air conditioned and more of a small 3/4 stall bathroom is nicer. Oh and since they are serving BBQ it would have been nice to have a couple of those wash sinks by the tables so people can wash their hands after they eat or maybe even wet wipes or paper towel rolls on the tables would have been convenient. Any whoo I enjoyed this event and hope the Rotary Club was successful in raising lots of money for their causes. Thanks for a fun experience!! If I'm back in town next year visiting my dad and his gf I would def. like to attend again. Maybe we'll get to stay a little longer and hear the band too!!

We've wanted to go to this event for a long time. We were so disappointed…read more In 2021, it was $15 for a plate from Redneck BBQ Lab and $2 for a can of soda or a bottle of water. That's it, that was all the options. It looks like in past years; you were able to sample from several vendors. That would have been more fun. This year just felt like a money grab.

Prices are good though it can add up quickly if you get a lot of what you want. Service is a bit slow as there aren't many wait staff. For such a tiny place they sure do offer a good selection of foods.. Much of it is fried or grilled. Every single thing that I have eaten tastes delicious. I'm guessing that most of their business is take out. When the weather is good some people sit outside. This is not a glamorous place. Not a problem! It's not close to where we live, so I don't go by frequently and that's probably for the best. given my age and health. I am impressed by the service and also by the clientele. No one demands to get their orders very quickly. I believe the food is actually healthier here than at the typical burger type restaurant because they do serve good quality food and they have vegetables as well.

My partner ordered an impossible burger and was charged an extra $4 and I ordered a double veg burger and was charged an extra $4. Ridiculous. Otherwise, the burgers were solid and the fries were good, but definitely won't be back when there are so many other options around here

The longest wait that i saw (which was a good wait in line) was probably 20ish - 30ish minutes. Cousins Maine Lobster truck is apparently a fan favorite; as it should be. The rest of the trucks....i'd say 5-10 min wait, if that. To my suprise, the street was rather clean. Not full of trash or food. It was a rather "toasty" day and the beer tents they had came in rather handy. They also had water, juices. Plus all the food trucks had their own special drinks. As far as the prices go, i can't really say any of them made me go "OOOOOOooooooo" and slide my money back in my pocket. I give the event an A+ and will definitely be backnfor more

FYI, It can get packed depending on the time and how beautiful the weather is that day so be prepared to wait. But, I do like that it stretches all the way down Fayetteville Street and connected side streets which makes it the largest around the area. Beer snob moment: I liked it better when they first started doing it and all of the local breweries came out with their beers and tents. Now that it has gotten so large they bring huge trucks out and the options are just okay.
