Positive aspects: centrally located, quiet, plenty of room inside (common room) and outside to relax, low cost overall. They moved our dates around by 1 day, which was appreciated.
Negative aspects: crowded room, you had to limbo to get to the closet. Very crowded bathroom (the sink was ultra-narrow, and wedged in a corner so we couldn't wash our faces or shave without being hunched over - otherwise water spills on the floor.) The shower is so narrow it feels like a coffin. The ac was so loud it woke me up. There were so few outlets we had to pull the one power strip out from under the bed to access it. When I asked for another power strip, the attendant instead pulled a lamp plug out of an existing outlet. Not very accommodating. When we asked to use an iron, we were scolded not to put a hot iron on the bed, and threatened with having to pay for damages. Normally I don't get treated like a child when I'm paying to stay somewhere, I could do without the attitude. Then we got attitude from the attendant when we asked for a clothes steamer, and told this was a simple bed and breakfast. A Simple "no" would have been fine. The staff is almost never there, the kitchen is almost always closed, so it was implied we weren't to go in there to get ice, etc. The "breakfast" was a simple carb layout of bread, muffins, a small bowl of fruit and an old tub of yogurt. No protein provided. The room was in disrepair, the closet door was falling apart, and made a loud crunching noise when it was opened or closed. The furniture is old, stained and scratched. The pillows provided are either rock hard or too soft to provide support. The mattress is so worn that your head is much lower than your body, we never slept well.
The hot tub was empty, so the amenities which drew me to reserve a room here (private bathroom and hot tub) were a disappointment. I feel like I need to thoroughly question the owners like a lawyer before I book a room in Provincetown. How sad.
All in all, the goal of at least being comfortable when away from home never happened here. We will spend more for a better experience in the future. If you feel you must stay here, maybe try back in the future, after they make the improvements the new owners promise to make? read more
