It made sense to go to the location that had the most in-stock options. Ultimately I bought a tile that I didn't come across when I browsed online so it was worth the trip. Finally, after nine long months, my furniture has arrived! Yay!…read more I ordered the furniture on New Year's Day 2022, and today was the day. What brought me here was two-fold: the immediate reason is that they had a daybed on clearance and I needed a guest bed; I had been looking for a full-sized daybed since it could serve multiple purposes. In addition, I had been looking at sofas for months and noticed in their catalog a couch with arms that had a pleated arm, which I have not seen before. Usually in couches I see a standard track, sock, or some other similar arm, but I loved the look of the pleat. I had intended to only purchase the daybed, but decided I might as well just get it all. I didn't realize how backlogged they were so it's good I did. The process of ordering was... for me... involved, but others I am certain won't take as long. I wanted to make the perfect choice for me, so I looked at basically every fabric they had. You might think that's hyperbole but I honestly think I did. The only thing I knew I wanted was for it to be very firm and for it to have pleats on the arms. I spent 3-5 hours at the store that day viewing couches, fabrics, deciding on pillow fabrics, and so on. There actually was a big snowstorm that day and they sent a few people home and by the time I left I had to drive like 40 miles per hour home from Glendale Heights to Ravenswood, but Chris (who no longer works there) was very patient and the other folks who work there were great too. I need to get an ottoman for my new couch, and I'd be happy to work with any of these designers. However, my review is a bit mixed, unfortunately. Whilst working with the designers was good and they were very helpful, the delivery wasn't as good. I decided to err on the side of a higher review so that I don't give too much weight to this somewhat small thing, but the delivery was a problem in two ways. One, when I asked the guy if he could lift the daybed slightly so I could adjust the rug that was underneath, he gave me a look like I had called him a slur and grudgingly moved it a tiny bit. His reaction made me not want to ask him for help so I just struggled with it later on my own. Secondly, I noticed when I returned upstairs that they had gotten some sort of brown goo on my brand new (fewer than two and a half weeks) painted walls. I tried washing it off but only got so much. So now I have to correct that, which is really, really annoying.

I received several quotes to begin my renovation process and decided to go with Chris (whose bid was right in the middle of all quotes) because he really took the time to walk me through the entire process and his expertise was exemplary. At our initial meeting, Chris told me it would take about 2 days from start to finish. I'm happy to say that that's exactly what it took. Once our actual work started, Chris took over the day-to-day operations. Chris was terrific! Chris was extremely responsive from estimate to installation. Our windows are no longer being manufactured and replacement parts are difficult to find. Chris kept me appraised on the the status of the replacement parts and quickly scheduled installation when they became available. Installation was handled efficiently and all work areas were protected and cleaned after completion of repair. I received a copy of the invoice and proof of payment electronically before they left our home, impressive! I am already planning on being a repeat customer and have A.M.C. replace some old drafty basement windows, and repair our exterior aluminum siding!
