I had originally scheduled with Hannah but unfortunately, she got sick and they had to cancel my appointment. They were super kind and apologetic about it and offered me another appointment the next day with another available hairstylist. They also honored the original quoted price. For example, Hannah charges $40 for a haircut, while the other stylist charges $50, they kept the price as $40. My new hairstylist was Dennise. I was attended to quickly and she sat down and had a conversation with me about what exactly I wanted and my past experiences. Honestly every time I have gone to a salon in the past few years, I leave disappointed. Last haircut I got was about 2 months before this one and they didn't cut it short enough or add any layers like I asked. It cost $150 and I was very unhappy with it. I showed Dennise some reference photos and she gave me suggestions and a walk through on what we could do to achieve what I wanted so that I wouldn't be surprised by anything. Unfortunately the picture I took with my new haircut doesn't really get the back of it so it doesn't do it justice. She did cut my hair slightly different because my natural hair is more to the curly side so she took shrinkage into consideration (and I wanted bangs). But my hair looked amazing!     I had an extremely disappointing experience at this salon…read more When booking my appointment, I was required to pay a $30 deposit for each service. I scheduled a gel manicure and gel pedicure and paid a total deposit of $61.40. Upon arrival, the owner, Yvonne, was occupied with a hair client. The nail technician was called from the back and had to gather all of the supplies for my appointment after I arrived. Nothing appeared to be prepared in advance. The pedicure station raised several concerns. The foot basin did not have a disposable liner, the chair controls were not working properly, and the remote was sticky to the touch. The nail technician appeared to have only an old nail file and a small cuticle tool for the service. The most troubling part of the appointment was the removal of my existing polish. Instead of using polish remover, the technician attempted to remove the polish by filing it off with a nail file. This was painful, and when I asked whether she had polish remover, she stated that she did not. The process took approximately 35 minutes and still left traces of polish on my toes. After soaking and drying my feet, the technician applied oil and then informed me that she did not know how to apply the polish. She said the owner would complete that portion of the service. I then waited approximately 20 minutes for Yvonne to return. She explained that she had been on the phone and mentioned that she was a teacher. When I requested white polish, she first suggested an old-looking bottle of purple polish with separated color. She then attempted to set up a drying lamp, but it would not work properly. After trying different extension cords, she ultimately told me that she did not have white polish available. At that point, I decided to leave because my pedicure had not been completed, my feet had not been properly polished, and my manicure had not even been started. Surprisingly, I was then told that I owed an additional $40. When I questioned the charge, I was handed only $20 as a refund. I was also told that next time I needed to specify the services I wanted, even though my booking clearly stated that I had scheduled a gel manicure and gel pedicure. While I was there, I also observed the technician begin a pedicure on another customer using the same tools, towels, and foot basin that had been used on me without any visible cleaning, disinfection, or sterilization between clients. I left the salon with sore toes and was limping due to the painful filing process. About 30 minutes later, Yvonne called and said she had located white polish and invited me to return for polishing. Given my experience, I declined. This was the worst salon experience I have ever had. Based on my visit, the salon did not appear properly equipped to provide manicure and pedicure services despite requiring nonrefundable deposits for those services. Customers should be informed in advance if the salon cannot adequately perform the services being offered.
