The guy running this joint was super friendly to us and talked to us for a little bit while the food was being prepared. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and a bag of chips with a drink. I gotta say, it was a solid burger! I like my burgers very standard and no veggies but regardless, it tasted great!! My wife tried one of the brats that he offers and she really liked it! It's a great option while strolling the town. He also offers other things you can see on the picture of the menu. Judging by the taste of what I had, you wont be dissatisfied. The location is pretty cool. It's tucked away from the main road and feels like a little meadow. It's an experience. Overall, you definitely should come by and try for yourself. It's worth it!

The CO-470 bicycle trail runs adjacent to…read moreHome Depot, so I stopped in to get a battery for my bike gadget and ran into this permanent dog and brat stand. I figured I definitely earned one, once I have finished my route. The stand is located to the left of the lumber entry/exit, which is on the right hand side of the store front. The owner cooked my Honey Bourbon Sausage to perfection, nice charred areas. The sausage was really tasty and only set me back $3. This thing was giant, longer than the bun by an inch or so. He has a good spread of condiments on the side table with relish, chopped onions, sauerkraut and hot peppers. To the left of the stand, two rows of picnic tables await. This reminds of the after-hours dog stands by the exit of night clubs, only this one serves more of the working type. The menu has a few options of dogs, sausages and brats, including meals deals that include chips and a drink. The dogs are served in an aluminum foils, which become my plate. If you need lunch and something from Home Depot, plan to eat at A&J's you won't be disappointed or broke.

There are only a handful of businesses in Kittredge, a humble unincorporated town outside of Evergreen and Morrison (closer to the former). And shockingly, most of the businesses are great! This is another creekside restaurant and what's not to love about that? I've never actually dined in, only gotten takeout a few times. Doesn't change the fact that they are doing something right in the kitchen! At Switchback, they have the MEATS. As all good BBQ places should. My last meal consisted of their brisket, sausage, and mac and cheese. I really enjoyed everything I had. The sausage may have been my favorite, it was extremely juicy. Brisket is the best BBQ meat and theirs (even takeout) was tender and tasty. Like many BBQ places, the hours and quantities are limited. And for being in a remote unincorporated town you can't fault them for that. Take a scenic drive out this way and score some yummy 'que!!!

This store used to be a charming staple in our small community--a true general store that felt…read morewelcoming, personal, and cared for under the previous owner, Brian. We were in there almost every day. But since the new ownership took over, everything that made it special has been lost. The focus now seems to be purely on profit. Prices have skyrocketed, the breakfast burritos (which used to be amazing) have been completely changed and are now barely edible, and we were just sold (on June 3rd) hot dog and hamburger buns that we later discovered had expired-- hot dog buns that had expired in April and hamburger buns in May. Unfortunately, we only realized it after eating them. The changes haven't just affected the quality--they've changed the entire feel of the place. The building and retaining walls have been painted in hideous, jarring colors. Spray-painted arrows now cover the pavement, and there's a strange year-round display out front with a plastic angel and palm tree that make the place feel tacky and confusing instead of quaint. To top it off, they're hand-feeding deer in front of the store. My husband literally had to walk around the deer and the person feeding it just to get inside. What once felt like a local gem now feels like just another convenience store. Cold, impersonal, and disappointing. There are even concerning rumors that a makeshift storage area in the back is being used as a place to live, which raises serious health and safety concerns. It's a real shame to see such a beloved place lose its soul.

We walked into this bar around 4 pm and we were immediately told that we could not bring our bottled water in with us due to their liquor license. We sat down and asked for a drink menu and we were told they had a few listed but nothing else. The restaurant was pretty empty, so we pushed 2 tables together as there weren't any other table options for 6 near the bar. We were then told that we could not push tables together and that we would have to be moved when the band starts to play. There were no other people within 10 feet of us. The service was absolutely atrocious. This bar needs to figure out customer service if they want to survive in this economic market.
