Nick responded within minutes letting us know that his evening class is full, but that we could drop by and do the WOD. He runs an open gym during off hours, so the timing was actually better than his class times. Nick was super friendly, experienced, and passionate about fitness. The gym is only a few months old, but he's not a noob to CrossFit and has valuable coaching experience at one of the leading boxes in New England. Shelburne is lucky to have a great place like this and not have to drive through Burlington. The facilities are clean, the space is small but well arranged, and they have access to the indoor courts. You can't beat having a Crossfit Gym in Vermont where you can run indoors! Next time we're in town we will be back over there.

REV is a TOP-NOTCH Spinning Experience! Sarah , CEO and…read moreteacher extraordinaire , makes the work-out totally enjoyable with professional attention to core muscle and full body development. Everything about the equipment and surroundings shouts professionalism with regard to high -caliber bikes, headsets, selection of music; and, in addition, , it is detail-oriented down to caring about cleanliness and gauging reps to individual physical needs. REV SPINNING is the BEST KEPT SECRET of all of Burlington! Sarah is an amazing teacher. She conducts the class with not only a certain savior- faire , but also a sense of humor that is contagious, and her students just love her ! Her teaching style is such that the class adores her. If Vermont is all about health , Sarah is a shining leader extraordinaire in promoting health and fitness .

Rev is an awesome spin studio that began about a year ago in Burlington and has grown by leaps and…read morebounds due to its amazing owners, instructors and music. As I searched for Rev's Yelp page to write this review, I expected to see about 20 super positive ones. I was surprised to see just one. But, then again, Vermonters are just discovering Yelp, so I guess it makes sense. Rev was started about year ago by Sarah DeGray in a small space on Pine Street. Sarah has a positive, friendly personality and her spin classes are about as fun as spin classes can be. Just the right combination of challenging and engaging. She also always has great music that really motivates participants. Over the year the studio has developed an almost cult following. People try out the classes and keep coming back. It's very easy to like Sarah and the classes make you feel good. Many newbies are daunted by spin classes. I get it, I used to be the same way. When you've never done a spin class they seem pretty hardcore. The fact is, you start out slow, there is no pressure to do more than what feels good to you, and you quickly see results and feel more fit. Sarah and the instructors are the right combination of motivated and laid back. They want you to feel good about yourself and their classes. In every class people are reminded to move at their own pace. Recently Sarah partnered with Steven Little, a long-time trainer and exercise class instructor who has lived in some of the biggest cities in the US and has pioneered many fitness classes in some of the nation's top gyms. Together, they have relocated to Flynn Avenue, purchased brand new bikes and started offering other types of classes on top of Spin. If you are wanting to get into better shape and don't know where to start, I suggest you visit one of Rev's many free 30-minute classes offered throughout the week. The vibe is friendly and encouraging and soon you will feel like part of the Rev family. I can't say enough positive things about this Vermont-grown spin studio.

High energy exercises combined with strength-training for core muscles challenged members of the class (each at their level), which worked for all of us. Stephanie has a marvelous sense of humor and inspired all of us to keep laughing and enjoying her ever-constant pace , both at the barre and on the mat. The class was full and welcoming to newcomers, which was reassuring. I was impressed with both the professionalism and down -to -earth quality of Stephanie whose humility and kindness went far in conducting a great class. Bravó, Stephanie ! Thank you for an inspiring and productive class.

Burlington Yoga has such a soft place in my heart. Yoga and stress relief have always gone hand in…read morehand but this studio is so calming and has made it easy to form routines. Their website is easy to navigate, and they have enough instructors that you can try multiple different styles, but not so many that you can't stick to one you love. The classes are affordable and conveniently timed. I like to frequent their Sunday night flow class just after work to decompress after a long day. The room is typically a little bit warmer than I'd like (not a Bikram fan, thank you very much), but the room is lovely with plenty of Windows and natural light. I usually set up in the front just in front of a window to help me enjoy the second floor studio. My only possible critique of Burlington Yoga is that the location is immediately across the street from the Burlington Fire Department. It's unavoidable that occasionally a fire truck comes blaring out of the station and the sirens interrupt your practice. Vermont is at pretty low fire risk though, so your zen is usually left unperturbed.

Before class…read morestarted I introduced myself and answered where else I practiced locally, mentioning my budding Ashtanga practice. I was offered unsolicited advice about how I should be careful with this lineage, and could get hurt. Then, during the first few sequences Piper gave a verbal assist to my downward dog. Her instructions weren't clear to me, and my adjustments were not aligning, so then she asked out loud "Do you know how to be in downward dog?". After class there was zero engagement from her and she stood holding the studio door open while I gathered my things. She was not giving any sort of vibe that she cared about making me feel like I would be welcomed if I returned. It was a very uncomfortable and disappointing experience as a new student to her studio and that's why I've never returned. I see she has a different studio now in Shelburne. Unfortunately, she's made a lasting impression and I cannot recommend her as a result.
