Tried everything though. The samosas were okay, spring rolls were okay. The lamb was really good and actually lots of it. The chicken was pretty good, pizza was okay and the gyro, wasn't a gyro it was kind of more pieces of chicken and fries with a red yogurt dip. Still cannot find the elusive actual gyro here. This place is worth a try and has a bunch of different options. The fries can use salt but then again once fried start cooking off it's hard for them to stay good. Will try again.

This place is a great fusion of Italian, American, Indian, German, and Chinese. Of all the different cultures they cook for, our favorite to order from this establishment is Italian and German cuisine; American and Indian is decent and the Chinese (based off of the one choice we ordered) was okay. The many PRO' that this place has to offer is: 1. They deliver! Yes, they also take visa, mastercard and Euro! Very convenient. Also, they're VERY QUICK! Normal waiting time from the restaurant to our home in Otterbach is 20-21 minutes, the fastest time: 17:23 minutes and the longest time: 35:12. This is with us ordering at least three to five dishes. Amazing, don't you think? 2. The menu has many options and seriously 9/10 things we've ordered has been AMAZING! The food is DELICIOUS. Between the many different cultures, below are my favorites/go to's to order from this BOMB(ay) restaurant: ITALY - (ALL TIME FAVORITES): a) Carbonara Pasta with spaghetti (#53) - pasta with cream sauce, bacon bits, and eggs; seriously, MAGNIFICENT b) Lachs Pasta with spaghetti (#61) - pasta with Salmon, broccoli, and creme sauce; very yummy c) Pizza Bolognese (#37) - See the menu, so good! d) Picante Pizza (#14) - Both are similar in ingredients; The familie size pizza is the one we usually order, enough for two adults, two servings. The pizza is square, thin, and delicious! GERMANY: a) Cordon Bleu (#84) - Delicious, not like other Germany restaurants here where its just meat, it comes with the chicken, ham and melted cheese. Maybe that's a little too much American but is SO good b) Parmaschnitzel (#81) - Very good but a little too cheesy, I just don't use all the cheese AMERICA: a) Chicken Wings (#105) - Hubby's FAVE b) The Pommés / fries (#101) are AMAZING! *The fries come with the most American dishes and German dishes which is awesome because if you end up getting one of the dishes I mentioned you really wouldn't need to order them separately. INDIA: Curry Pikant (#121) which comes with rice and is SO DELICOUS! CHINA: a) Knudprige Ente (#203) - which wasn't the best but I do have Chinese blood and I know what to expect and this just wasn't a normal Chinese dish for me... Not saying I know everything just that with it being part of my culture the taste just didn't seem familiar. 3. The make it very easy to order, you just say the number you want (all menu items are numbered the way I displayed them above) and they're decent in English. I've never had an issue ordering. The only CON I have is that the one item I ordered on the Chinese menu wasn't great but white may explain why they only have a few choices to chose from. Which is the ONLY reason I didn't give them five stars but in all honestly, they do deserve a five! I just feel five equals perfect and don't want to say something I believe isn't 100% true. I also, still have many options to try so I can't give a solid perfect rating for only trying not even half the menu. I do recommend this place for anyone who doesn't want to leave home and needs a quick fix! This place WILL NOT disappoint. I'm such a loyal customer they gave us a FREE liter of Coca Cola (which is €2,50). They're so sweet!

You sit down and then you go back to pick up your order, once your 'number' starts buzzing. While it is a hassle to eat here due to the parking and it being downtown, it's definitely convenient if you are already in the area or you just got done shopping at the mall. They have a separate entrance for strollers and a little area for the kids to play, color and entertain themselves - definitely appreciate this so they can do something with all that energy. There have been many kid friendly restaurants in Europe(more than in the US) - and you can add Vapiano to the list.

When you get there, you are given a card that you charge all your food orders too. There are pasta counters where you place your order to the chef at that station. After they ask you a few questions on how you want your dish modified, they begin cooking right there on the spot. Don't go too far away because, they are speedy!! Everything I ordered took no more than a few minutes to prepare. You really don't even have enough time to get bored and check your phone - that is how fast they are. I ordered two rounds of pasta because one wasn't enough. Not to say the portions were small, but the food was that good I had to go back for a second helping. My first course was the chicken alfredo, to which I added a second helping of chicken. I also ordered a side of the bruschetta. The Chicken Alfredo was everything and more that I was expecting. Creamy, Cheesy, the sauce was the perfect consistency and flavorful. I had some fresh shredded, not grated, parm added to the top and that really set it off. The bruschetta was equally as delicious. I'm not sure how they flavored their tomatoes, if they even did that, but they tasted very fresh and diced the perfect sized for a small handheld dish. I really have no major complaints about the Bruschetta because it was such an amazing dish, I was just expecting there to be some kind of mozzarella cheese and a balsamic reduction of some sort drizzled across the top. Again, not a problem at all because of how well it was executed without. After seeing what one of my dinner guests ordered (pollo picante w/ zoodles) I had a small sample and instantly knew I had to have a full serving to myself. I ordered mine with ziti noodles instead and I was far from disappointed. The sauce that it was cooked in is hard to describe, but it was sweet and tangy and really reminded me of what I think orange chicken from your favorite Chinese restaurant might taste like. Both dishes I would easily order again or recommend to someone coming for their first time. My experience at Vapianos was a very enjoyable one, and they are well deserving of a 5-star review, but I'm going with a strong 4.6 because consistency between dishes were very noticeable. There were two orders of chicken alfredo at our table, but cooked by two different chefs, and it was very clear one was better than the other. The difference wasn't as noticeable with the pollo picante, but there was still a slight difference between the two dishes prepared by those two different chefs. For anyone living or visiting the area, it is imperative Vapianos be at the top of your list of restaurants to dine at. Visited 1 May 2023

No complaints here!…read more I came to this restaurant for one of my last meals in Kaiserslautern before I return to the US. It is conveniently located a nine minute walk from the Hampton Inn where I was staying. I did not have a reservation but was seated immediately. They had a nice dry red wine that paired nicely with my meal. I had a hard time deciding because they have a lot of options. I ultimately decided on the Athenteller. It was fantastic! Everything was perfectly seasoned and delicious! It was a giant portion and appropriately priced. The service was excellent and the overall experience was very good. I will warn you, though, it is a CASH ONLY experience so be sure to bring lots of euros when you stop by!

My husband ordered the gyro with Madagascar sauce, I got the gyro with zaziki sauce, someone else got the chicken schnitzel with brown gravy, and the others got similar dishes. I've never really eaten Greek food before, but it was good. The meals came with salads (lettuce, onion, cabbage, whole pepper, olive topped with what I would describe as a coleslaw dressing). One party member asked for bread with their salad and was given a small basket with 5 slices of fresh bread. I got a coke, as did 2 others (they both had a second soda), and the final 2 each had 2 Pilsners. At the end of the meal Ouzo was offered. They took American Express....and the bill for 5 people was $106 euros, which for the amount of food we received, was a great price!

From the moment you walk in, the warm lighting and relaxed atmosphere set the tone for a great night out, and the staff keeps that energy going with attentive, genuinely friendly service. The star of the show is absolutely the steak. Perfectly seasoned, beautifully grilled, and served exactly at the temperature requested; it's the kind of quality you usually only find at high‑end steakhouses. The sides are just as impressive: fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The chimichurri deserves its own shout‑out; it's bright, bold, and elevates everything it touches. Drinks are well‑crafted, portions are generous without being over the top, and the pacing of the meal feels thoughtful rather than rushed. It's the kind of place that works equally well for a date night, a celebration, or just treating yourself to a seriously good dinner. If you're anywhere near Kaiserslautern and craving a great steakhouse experience, Chacarero is absolutely worth the visit. I'd come back in a heartbeat.

The staff made the experience even better with thoughtful check-ins that felt friendly, not forced. Dessert sealed the deal: churros with dulce de leche ice cream and a shot of espresso. Sweet, warm, and just the energy boost I needed to end the night on a high note. Highly recommend if you're craving bold flavors and a little comfort. I'll keep this review simple because my visit only affording me the chance to see their outdoor area. And while it was great, the menu was the most captivating part of the whole experience. Of the dozen-or-so people we had in our group, we unanimously decided literally everything on the menu was worth a try. My only complain was that the beer selection could use some expansion. But, the overall check-time, friendly service and clean and relaxed atmosphere more than made up for it. Idyll was a fantastic choice.
