I don't think it really added anything to the overall success of the meal. I used the crust around the edges to clean up the insides that spilled out during the eating. All in all, everyone was very pleased with the meals they ordered.

Service was a bit slow but the place was hopping so I don't fault the waiters. The dinner on the other hand .... eh. I ordered a Corsican specialty which was squid in red sauce with rice (I don't think they grow rice in Corsica but let's overlook that for now.) Perhaps it's because I'm too used to fried calamari but squid tasted odd to me. The red sauce was OK but the rice didn't match the dish at all IMO, so I used the liberal side of bread they provided instead. The dessert of raspberry ice cream was very good. Was going to give them a 4 but then the waiter corrected my grammar on the way out (and had a tone about it). C'mon, I'm in your country attempting to speak your language, could have been a little nicer about my faux pas of "soir" vs "nuit"

It is located in the shadow of the Cathedral where Napoleon himself was baptized. Ya, you won't get that experience anywhere else! Walk up about a block and visit the home where the prominent French statesman was born. It will connect you to the French Revolution in a way that simply cannot be duplicated! But, back to the café. It's a charming and (obvi) historic location with a breathtaking view, and everything a hungry traveler could want in a quick stop for a bite to eat and a beer or glass of wine. Reasonable prices too! I feel fortunate to have visited!
