A typical day this past week (clunky online translation) featured: +++++ Creole or Zaatar chicken drumsticks. Tab of Charlevoix, fresh caraway, garlic soft milk-fed veal. Hot-smoked salmon. Mackerel smoked Islands, pepper, citrus zests. Quiche with smoked salmon, seals as a bagel. Blanquette of veal of small-scale milk, chanterelles, pancetta. Stuffed pork tenderloin, Summered, raisins, Pecans, roasted, smoky wood from barrel of Jack Daniels. "Spareribs" candied Maple, as in Chinese but not really! The baristas are friendly, patient, and helpful. I had the spicy iced chai with oat milk that rivaled the best iced chai I've had. I was was certain it was homemade and when I complemented the barista, they shared the secret to their recipe! The blueberry scone was baked just hours before. It was packed with flavor of Maine blueberries and the scone itself was more moist than a traditional scone. They also offer vegan breakfast sandwiches. I couldn't resist the nature themed gift shop and bought some "bird nerd" tote bags, a Hideaway/E.B. White t-shirt, a picture book and nonfiction book about exploring the outdoors. The Hideaway is such a wonderful addition to Rangeley. A solid five stars--can't wait to go back.

Oh the ham was so good, big pieces and wonderfully textured. We each added a poached egg, because why not. Potatoes and a small fruit cup also on the plate. A maple butter for the fruit was absolutely amazing, but no way to eat all of it and I felt bad for the wastage of something so delicious.
