Anywhere else I paid with big bills the person just passed a marker on the bill, checked it in the light and that was it. Not here ... it was like they have never seen one before. 3 employees looked at it for minutes and decided to call the manager to check it. After an embarrassing 15 minutes of waiting in line for the manager to come, he finally decided to show up, took a marker and passed it on the bill and what a wonder: it's a good one. I asked him if he was the only one qualified to pass a marker on the 100$ bill to check it and he said yes, "only management" can do it. Well, I guess he is very proud of himself, the test he had to pass to be "qualified" for this operation must have been veeeeery difficult! Hold on tight on that marker Mr. Manager, you are so qualified to do it! As for me, I guess that was the last time I am going to Winners in Fairview!

They are very friendly, very helpful, explain the process of what they were going to do to resize my wedding rings along with another diamond ring and a pearl ring. I had been to the jeweller where my wedding rings were purchased and they said that they could not do what I wanted without redesigning my eternity ring because of the rubies. Well La Forge D'or had no problems with resizing and welding my wedding rings together. I got them yesterday and they did a beautiful job of resizing and making them so that I can wear them again. Thank you every so much for the friendly service and the great work that you did. I will definitely recommend you to my friends. Lynda D'Amour

Well, not so much in the shoe department, as I still don't see a whole lot of size 11 shoes. It's the selection of Kipling purses. For a while, I have been longing for a purple Kipling purse. They are few and far between. I have a black one that I love. I managed to find a small purple one in Ottawa, which I adore. I found the same purple coloured Kipling purse at this store, but a bit larger. When I first saw it, I couldn't believe it. I held it and debated whether I wanted it. Rational me put it down and got on with my day. However, the day before I had to head home, I decided to stop by the store again. If this purple purse was there, it was meant to be mine. Otherwise, I would be okay if it went to a happy shopper to love. On Thursday, I arrived just before noon. It was there! It was mine! I now am the proud owner of two purple Kipling purses and am extremely happy. The cashier helping me out was great and friendly. She asked if I had a TJX Style card. I did and had it scanned. I paid using a debit card and all was well. The checkout area caters to both HomeSense and Marshalls. Another first was dropping by the women's washroom with a purchased item. I have rarely done it. However, since I had been out and about for at least a couple of hours, it was okay. I also wanted to declare this purse mine. The washroom was clean and spacious. It's in the far right corner of the store when you first walk in. There is plenty of parking in front of this store, both on Sunday and Thursday. I got spots pretty close to the main entrance. (257)

I also liked a small, square cast iron pan. I recently saw how to make Japanese omelettes using such a cast iron. This store has a wonderful selection of kitchen accessories, from spatulas to nonstick frying pans. I loved the tea cups and reusable straws. There is plenty of parking outside the store. I had no problem finding a spot when I was here. The washrooms are on the Marshalls side of the combo, in the far right corner of the store. The women's one was clean and spacious. The checkout area is smack in the middle of the store. You can't miss it! (260)
