This is a great campsite. It's so clean and no motor boats. Great for paddle boarding…read more Also, this is not a first come basis campsite you need a reservation. This campsite is always booked!!!

I love me the outdoor and everything it has to offer!…read more Pros: Special tent only sites Level and graveled camp sites Large fire pits Views of the lake Trail around the lake for bikes or feet, gorgeous Fishing - if you are into that thing Cons: Toilets - for some reason they were rank by 9am each day. I've got a pretty strong stomach and i almost lost it one morning.. CHILDREN - apparently being 40 minutes outside of Ft Collins means all the breaders gather, with their kids, bikes, corn hole, toys, etc - and the idea of a quiet camping trip is out the window. Once outside they have no quams speaking loudly. No quiet talk, or the ability to keep one's voices under control. The map appears to have the "road" right next to the campsite... bring something to wheel your gear. It's not far to enjoy the view, but was a surprise how far it was from the car! I had to knock off a star due to the caliber of people that stay here. We did a weird stay - sat and sunday night vs the normal fri/sat. Apparently if you book 3 campsites you freel you can let you 2-4 childen per family scream incessantly, yell to each other across the whole camp site, ride their bikes thru your site, play corn hole or some traveling bocci ball thing thru the whole camp ground and expect you to be able to enjoy yourself. Heaven forbid you tear yourself away from your game of wizard something or other to determine where your children are, what they are doing or to have then refrain from screaming - gotta love how water is like a loudspeaker to spoken word... oy! Alas - i would probably go back, just for the peacefulness (like sunday when the loud families take off, or when you take the trail around the lake).Or there are RV sites that are not on top of one another - so you can have your car and tent and view and not too much of a generator noise in your ear!

We enjoyed several aspects of our stay at RJourney RV Resort campground this weekend. We were…read morethrilled to get a last minute reservation and received a good discounted rate. The sites were nicely level, with a huge lot available nearby to walk our dogs. These features made our stay comfortable and convenient. However, there were several maintenance issues that need attention. There were no dumpsters located close to our site, which made trash disposal inconvenient. The roads leading into the campground have multiple large potholes, and they seem to get worse each time we visit this area. These potholes can be challenging to navigate, especially for larger RVs. The most concerning issue was that the sewer connection at our site, D-04, was backed up and unusable. We discovered this on the morning of our departure. We called the office to report this issue and got an answering machine stating the office was closed on Sunday, then called the National RJourney office and spoke to someone who said he would send someone to help. No one showed up, so we called the general manager and left a message. He texted back and basically told us to close up our sewer and dump at the campground sewage dump or an empty site nearby. We never actually met with any personnel in person. However, our neighbors told us that previous guests assigned to this same site had experienced and reported the same problem, yet the site is still being assigned without the issue being resolved. This was very frustrating and created an unnecessary inconvenience during our stay. Overall, the campground offers excellent value with level sites, a fair dog-walking area, and attractive discounts. However, the road conditions and unresolved sewer problems significantly impacted our experience. If management addresses these maintenance concerns, this could be an outstanding place to stay. But in no way should the word, "Resort", be associated with this campground with current issues, and being closed on Sundays, in my opinion!

What a joke! We pull in and try to camp for a night, the guy from who knows where over the phone…read moretries to help us get a site. He puts us into a 45' site, and we don't fit, we are 41', so the site sizes are not true. Plus there are very few 50amp sites. We ended up leaving and staying the night in a truck stop. Someone needs to open up another campground in the area!

Don't worry, it's worth it. Kelly Flats Campground is located 35 miles west of Fort Collins in the Poudre Canyon. Of the 29 available sites, most are either right on the river or a mere few steps away. It's low enough to wade and tube in the late-fall, but it is COLD. Bring your fishing pole... you might just catch yourself a delicious trout! The campground host keeps the bathrooms IMMACULATE, which is a huge bonus. No spiders! Most of the bathrooms are wheelchair ready. Almost all the sites are car/RV/trailer accessible, but there are six that are walk-in tent-only. Not surprisingly, these six boast the best spots on the river. They're also a bit more secluded. Even so, the other sites are spaced well enough apart so the slightly rowdy won't step on the toes of the family campers (or vice versa!). It's a great set-up. Dogs are welcome, but need to be tied up at your campground. They're free to frolic down by the river, though! Site 10 (walk-in) has a cool little "swimming pool" of river rocks built up... and it's probably really nice during the early summer months when the river's a bit higher. All sites have picnic tables and fire grates. You can buy wood from the camp host for $7 a bundle, but I recommend getting it at the Conoco in town for half the price. There isn't much to gather at the campground. One thing to note: there are TONS of yellowjackets. I don't know if it's because we camped late in the season, but those buggers were aggressive and mean. And EVERYWHERE. You'd be smart to pack one or two of those yellow wasp traps. As camping goes, Kelly Flats is far enough out there to be really gorgeous and secluded, but developed enough to feel safe and fun for even the littlest campers. We took our one-year-old and he had a blast! We'll be back next summer for sure...!

Reserved online. The Colorado State Park reservation system is onerous and over-reaching. It requires your drivers license and asks for you Social Security Number. Sketchy neighborhood just before the park. 5he lake was very, very low but didn't smell as reported in other reviews. It makes the campsites stink plus I think there were neighboring slaughterhouses or something because it smelled like Greeley. The bathrooms are not the cleanest. So many cobwebs and bugs when they could simply take a broom to it. The pit toilet near our site was disgusting. Urine all over the seat, stains all over the floor and walls like they haven't cleaned in years. The actual campsites are well maintained which is the only reason for 2 stars instead of one. The water was so gross. In fact, some locals let us know that the water is swim at your own risk because of an infestation of bacteria that causes stomach flu like issues. No one manning the entry kiosk. Loud neighbors with no one patrolling. On top of that, there are a crazy amount of flies! The lady at the marina was very nice and helpful, but unfortunately we likely won't be back.
