I know it's odd, but I really like going through a car wash. Not just any car wash, mind you. If you can get one that does not cost much, and which does not even require that you exchange words or currency with a bored, teenage attendant, or moonlighting housewife, (or balding, middle-aged man who reminds you of your high school Gym teacher), even better! And that's the Chevron Car Wash! It. is. everything. Cheap: As little as $8 for a basic wash, and $16 for an extended one that includes "waxing." By a throwback robot without the anthropormorphism. Sure. You are not getting a high quality detailing here, folks. It's more for your sense of pride and quick freshening up more than anything. But sure, you can pay extra for the "luxury" wash. Therapeutic: It is serene to go through a car wash like this and realize that you are going through life which on occasion dumps its sludge on you, but you will emerge from it shinier and better and go out into the sunshine, ready to face whatever may come your way. You can drop by and do this wash in 5 minutes, if that! (Stay for the full 1 minute of blow-drying at the end, though, for best results.) The car wash is perfectly automatic. I came in for the car wash. I needed a bay-style place opposed to an automatic/tunnel wash as the last tunnel damaged my modified jeep. The wash portion was great. Good pressure, price and foam. $2.50 for 5 minutes is fair. They take an atm swipe so not having to find quarters or get tokens is nice. The vacuum is coin only, doesn't suck hard and the hoses are short. I can't get around to the other side of my jeep and the $1.50 a pop doesn't give me enough time to get it all in one session. I was excited that I got a free 22 ounce soda for checking in but the cashier didn't know about it and it turned into a hassle. She eventually gave me the free soda. Love the self-serve car wash. ONE WORD: DRYERS! There are reverse-engineered vacuums to blow-dry your car in the self-serve bays. No quarters? Then you need to go to the store where rolls of quarters are sold for $5, which is the minimum you would need to do a thorough job. My go to for my cars that I don't want to put through the automated machines, and I don't want to wait 2+ hours for a shop to hand wash. read more

Used the do it itself car wash, it's behind Chevrocks.. 4 bays and 1 bay for automatic. They take coin/card. It's a lot better than some other places, but lacks a few options like hot wax. The sun here eats paint, but wax is a sun block even if for a few days.. just means add more wax. More $$$, and during the winter months they don't heat the freezing cold water.. but it's a good spot to wash your ride, Tall enough for a Box Van or small motor home, NOT A DIESEL PUSHER!! Absolutely garbage. I did the dually special 11 bucks. It was a waste of 11 bucks. The truck was not clean on the outside. Soap still in the middle of the truck, I had to go to the next bay to rinse the soap off for another 2.50. I haven't found one of these car washes that will do a dually, its black. This is my go to pace for BBQ propane. They always have friendly service and they refill propane tanks. The service station is generally clean - inside and out. They also have a self car wash section behind the store. I do not purchase fuel or other products because the pricing in this station is higher than average. read more

One of the few do it yourself car wash businesses still available. It's older, but always clean and in good repair. The automatic wash does a good job and it is economical, and it doesn't have those terrible tire guides that ruin your tires. The vacuums work well and the self serve wash bays are awesome. Horrible customer service. After a long day At work I went in to prepay for gas. There were a pair of adorable kids in front of me in line that had my attention. A man came up and opened his register......and was a complete jerk. But that one made my day. The brushes did their job so well, that I was able to use my car front as a mirror. The prices are up.
