This gas station has a pretty big market. Nice to have a variety, but prices are a bit much. Gas is more expensive here, but it's the closest station to the lake. $4.49 a gallon for unleaded on 6/22. read more

Great location, great selection, the worst customer service I've ever experienced. The cashier was so rude to us that I couldn't be made - I kept waiting for a camera crew to jump from around a corner. After making a purchase, a man asked if they had a restroom and the cashier rolled his eyes and told him that there is one, but he doesn't have time to show him where it is. The man said that he could find it on his own if directed and the cashier told him, very aggressively, to use the PortaPotty in the back. When I went to make my purchase, I couldn't find the line, when I went to ask, I got a snarl and the cashier (same as above) gave me a disgusted once over. I needed to break a $20, so I ignored his harsh behavior and asked why his line was shorter and I started to ask if I should be in the other line (it was very confusing), but before I could finish, he shouted 'WE'RE REALLY BUSY RIGHT NOW!!!!" Okay, Cranky. I made my purchase and left. I won't bother returning to the store and I'm certain this won't break their hearts. Maybe I entered on a bad day or at a bad time; looking at the other reviews, it's a popular store. So, if you have a similar experience don't take it personally. read more

Do not support this business. Tom Thumb has been around for YEARS and ever since the new owner, Christina took over, it has gone down hill. They treat all of their employees terribly. Erik, the manager of Tom Thumb is an absolute monster. They own Tom Thumb Espresso as well which manages to fail multiple health inspections, yet is still somehow in business. The stand recently had a rat issue which left rat feces in the products. The floor inside the stand has fallen through due to the ice machine leaking and causing the floor to mold. Multiple employees have dealt with health issues due to the black mold inside the stand. Management has been asked to fix these issues but the issues have still have not been addressed. Take your hard earned money somewhere else. Christina (Joy) doesn't deserve your money and her businesses should be SHUT DOWN! They repeatedly fire employees for no reason and give wrong accusations! read more

Good location. But they have HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. When I went to buy myself some beer. I could't tell where the line was. When it was time to pay, they asked for my ID which I handed to him and they also asked my friend for his. But I never understood why he had to show his ID. For some reason he didn't have it with him. I asked my friend to step out of the store so I could continue with my purchase, but the cashier very rudely told me it did not matter because he was still not going to sell me the beer. So my question is what do they do if I go buy beer and I have my kids with me, well they want my kids to have an ID with them too?? I am not going back to this store. This is your local grocery store, gas station and it's open 24/7. It's run by some local heroes that are often run ragged by loads of visiting lake-goers, so give them a smile. The store is great and the gas station has Apple Pay so it's super convenient for the days I forget my debit card... but I went to their coffee stand today and the barista had her mask hanging from one ear the entire time. She made my drink and spoke to me within 6 feet with NO mask. Last time I try and branch out from my normal coffee stand. read more

This place has gone downhill in the last 3 years. Pan handing is constant. I feel super uncomfortable while I'm there. I avoid at all cost now. It makes me super sad. The old staff was awesome and we spent so much money there, now we have to drive into town to go to Safeway. read more

NEVER SHOPPING HERE AGAIN. Here's why: I went in at 5:15 AM, and there were only a couple of other shoppers in the store. While I was browsing their selection of energy drinks, I was approached by an older Asian woman with bleach blonde hair who told me I needed to remove my backpack and leave it in the front of the store. But don't worry, she said, she would watch it. I told her no, I'm done shopping, and I won't be shopping here again. I'm a 40 year old man with a buzz cut. I was wearing my backpack on both shoulders and never removed it. I would understand if I was a) high schooler in a group of other kids or b) the woman outside huddled next to the trashcan smoking a cigarette and dressed in pajamas and a blanky, feverishly working her way through a pack of scratch tickets (I didn't stop to see if she picked them out of the trash looking for a winner, or if she was scratching them). Maybe I didn't see the 'NO BACKPACKS' sign (if it exists), but in all of my previous visits WITH A BACKPACK it's never been an issue. Every other time I've shopped here, the staff was friendly, the store was clean, and the service great. It's a shame, because I stop nearby twice every weekday. I CANNOT abide this treatment, and neither should you. They have plenty of competition, so I'll be taking my $$ to another store. This wasn't my first trip to this store, but it's definitely my last. read more

It's a convenience store, but they do a great job. Friendly and helpful employees and they carry a few gourmet items that are hard to find. Pints of gourmet ice cream that you won't find very often and good beer prices and specials. read more

This place is not worth the convenience of location. Super high prices and the front windows are boarded up and have been like that for awhile now. No food item is worth their high prices. The location is convenient for the local family that needs one or two items to complete a dinner at home and doesn't want to run all the way to Frontier. But I doubt anyone would do all of their shopping at Tom Thumb. They have a vast wine selection and a decent beer selection. They did have a limited selection of hard spirits but no longer do. It's privately owned and while some of the staff do border on rudeness it's in some fashion funny in a charming way because you'd never get that "tude" at a large chain store. You'd be written up and sent home for the day for rolling your eyes, ignoring customers, having a huffy attitude, throwing stuff in the bag, snapping your gum excessively; which all I've seen and laugh off - but maybe that's just my own odd sense of humor. It definately has it's own special brand of charm. It's also convenient that there is a Bank Of America cash machine. Also, their hot food section has some decent "gut bomb" choices. And actually they have a ham, egg, and cheese breakfast burrito that is really good when it is available. I'd rather grab a quick breakfast from Tom Thumb than from the fast food chain next door. We have used this store since they first opened. Always happy with their service etc. Except for Yesterday, Christmas day. Our son forgot he was to bring rolls for our dinner. He took off for T-T. Was happy to find Kings Hawaiian rolls and bought 3 pkgs. They had obviously been frozen and thawed out. The bottom of the pkgs,were wet, hence the rolls were too.
