I'm so used to fish and chips being made with cod or other white fish, so this was a fun change. Despite being a pub, this place is family-friendly. The kid's menu was perfect for my little nephew, and my sister was very pleased with the quality of his burger meat and the fact that you can sub fries for veggie sticks for kiddos. Full Sail is a very well respected micro brewery, founded in 1987 and the first craft brewery in the Pacific Northwest to bottle its beer. It's flagship Amber has won numerous awards, including recently in 2025 a Gold Medal at the NY International Beer Competition (along with the brewery being named Oregon Brewery of the Year). It has a large line-up of beers brewed inhouse There is a large paid parking lot across the street at $1.25 per hour, payable via credit card through nearby kiosks. Once entering, there is a long hallway, walking past the working areas of the brewery, until getting to the restaurant area. It has views of I-84, and further the Columbia River. The outdoor patio was not open (drizzling outside), and it was pretty crowded inside but we got lucky to be seated at a table near windows with a view. There have lunch and happy hour specials during weekdays. The lunch special is 1/2 of a sandwich (grilled cheese this day) along with a cup of their soup of the day (tomato). I was super excited about the Amber, so got a pint of that ($8) and pint of the Queen Wheat ($8). My wife enjoyed the Queen Wheat but didn't care for the Amber. I really liked the Amber, making me realize why I had drunk so much of that style earlier in my life when in Wisconsin, before switching over to wheat beer. There selection of beer is great, and a flight is the way to go ($18 of 6 5oz samplers). Buffalo Hot Wings ($17) - a decent amount of simply deep fried hot wings in a classic Frank's red hot buffalo sauce. Pretzel Bread Sticks ($13) - 4 large, warmed pretzels. Should have gotten the beer cheese to go with it. Salmon Fish & Chips ($20) - 3 small pieces of beer battered salmon, very dense and definitely tasting of wild caught salmon. It came with good fries and a really good, fresh cole slaw. There is a small refrigerator stocked with cans of certain beers for sale. Unfortunately, we were dismissively told that they were out of the Amber bottles for sale. So after our meal, went to the front to purchase directly from the front staff. Their Japanese rice beer from their Session lineup ($10 for a six pack) was available and what we brought back home with us.

I had the burrito bowl of some sort, with pork barbacoa, eggs, beans, salsa, added guac, etc. and it was so delicious. I posted a photo online and all my friends wanted to know where I got it haha. I also had a half sweet vanilla latte and that was super good too! My daughter had their quesadilla, also very good. I have been in a slump lately with restaurants around me all tasting like the same Sysco crap, I'm not sure where kickstand gets their food, but it at least tasted fresh and homemade, and they had a good variety on their menu. Loved their patio seating, dog friendly, they turned on their mister right as we were leaving too, I'm sure that's nice on a hot day. Service was also great, the two people we interacted with were nice and I left feeling happy! Can't wait to come back!

Got to taste the sandwich with the jam and loved it. Kind of wish I got that sandwich instead just cause of the jam. The bread was really good too- I think they were homemade english muffins. Everything on the sandwich was just chef's kiss! All of the employees were really nice. The place was clean as you have to "buss" your own table. Glad that people can follow directions. You order at the counter and they bring it out to you. The dining space is bright with tons of seating. I love that they make their own bread!! It's super soft and such a nice touch. I usually go with the turkey which has turkey, white cheddar, tomato, pickles, onion, lettuce, and hot mustard. It was a bit spicier than I would have liked, not that it was too hot, but that flavor was really dominant for me so I'd probably modify it a bit in the future or just build my own . My daughter loved her ham sandwich which comes with sprouts, avocado, and cucumber. My husband also really liked his Italian and their clam chowder. This place is definitely worth a stop if you are hungry in the Gorge!

Some time passed and that changed and they indeed did get such a set up. Located in Hood River, The Walled Garden is just such a place that has the brewery's in taproom/tasting room presentation. This space is set up really cool as there are gifts that you can purchase here as well as get food and their beer fresh off of the tap. We had quite a few places to visit while in town and didn't stop for a full fledged meal but it certainly looked tempting. While we were here I tried to get a beer that I haven't had before. I got The Bell which is a dark mild type of beer. It was good and a nice kick off to all of the other brewery stops here in town we had planned. This beer has a malty flavor which is pleasant and the ABV is manageably low. The beer is light bodied and nice and smooth. Other beers of the past that I highly recommend from Kings & Daughters are the Queens & Sons. I don't often drop a really high rating on Untapped for IPA' s typically but this one was excellent. Everything in the flavor profile was great. The bitterness of the hops and how all of that flowed together with the rest of the beer was just fantastic. Moving back to darker beer again another beer from Kings & Daughters that I really like is the Wintering Stout. This stout is just amazing and was another beer that I rated highly again on the Untapped app. The flavors you will find in this lovely beer are roastiness, toastiness, an earthiness and a hint of tobacco (in the best way possible) . Kings & Daughters cranks out amazing beers. I want to say that I have had a few more but I don't have them down in my records but I do recall having the consistent feeling of being quite pleased with this brewery each and every time. They make beers that aren't too intimidating to the average beer drinker but at the same time manage to be creative so more specialized beer drinkers( or beer drinkers who like more experimental beers) won't get bored with their offerings.
